Kick A$$ Domino! Do you mind telling how you are growing? pf tek, grain, casing, substrate, mon-tub, trays,,,,,,,???? I am a Mycology nerd so even though you sound like you have things going great I may be able to give you some tricks to get even better yields. CH

I would definatly increase the dose 3 grams fresh is barely enough to do anything and if he has anything like verpamil still in his system the dose won't be as effective. I would at minimum double the dose 6 grams fresh or .75 gram dry. As Jerry said the O2 at 10lpm is very low. For me even 12lpm would cause my attacks to actually increase in intensity, 25lpm worked much better. Now I use a demand valve and don't know how I lived with out it for years and all the unnecessary hour of pain I went through. If you can afford a demand valve I highly recommend it and know that it will help abort the hits faster and that is priceless to me. Just hearing about the ruff time he is going through makes me sad for both of you, I know it is hard to watch a loved one suffer but being there for him is all he needs and remember it isn't your fault and be strong for him. Just being there is good bring him an ice pack or heating pad which ever he likes and leave him be. CH

I took it years ago and never noticed any side effects except it made me sleepy. If it doesn't do anything for you ask to switch to Nortripyline(?sp) it seemed to work better than the Amitriptyline for me. Even the Nortriptaline didn't help much after a few months. It has been years since I have taken it but I remember that amitrip didn't help at all and the Nortrip only helped for a little while. Hope you find some relief. CH

Hi p64, It is a good sign that something happened during and after the dose, even if he got hit it is normal for a first dose. My first dose I had a clear head(painfree) for about 45minutes and then got slammed with a massive Cluster, that 45 minutes was the first true pain free time I had in years as at that time I was either having a shadow or a full blown attack all the time. So any sign of something happening is good and even if he doesn't get completely pain free this method will bring help. It took several doses just to get things under control where oxygen and energy drinks work for most of my attacks. You said 3 grams fresh does that mean they were just picked and not dry? The reason I ask is mushrooms are 90% water so that 3 grams fresh is only equal to .3 grams dry that is a very low dose. I prefer fresh but it is not always possible but fresh or dry it doesn't matter as long as you get the dose right .5 grams dry or 5 grams fresh is a good start. If he has other chemicals in his body like imitrex the doses will not be as effective and he may need to increase the dose and detox to get the full effects of the doses. 5-7 days between doses is best if he is really struggling then he can dose again after 3 days but it won't be as effective and the dose should be increased. There's many forms of Reishi so it isn't really the log it is grow on but the type. Most medicinal Reishi will be Ganoderma Lucidum / Ling Zhi. Reishi should be easy to grow if you can grow Cubensis then you can grow reishi, you just need a different substrate. Ralphstersspores sell the cultures and will soon sell Reishi blocks. You can also find it in most Vitamin stores sold in pill form or Tea. 36c is still with in normal range. Did you use O2 to abort the CH? If so that would cause your oral temperature to be lower. CH

If it has worked for you great leave it be but there are many ways to get things done. I try to make things as easy and painless as possible. If you have time to get things set up prior to birthing you can get your humidity up and have a low maintence fruiting chamber. It would be wise to make a Shot gun fruiting chamber now so you know it is working properly and you won't have to tend to it constantly.  There is no set time limit on them some will grow slower than others this is normal.  It is always better let them stay in the jar longer. Chances are if you birth them early they still won't start pinning for another week+ so they will loose a great deal of moister. Mushrooms are 90% water so that is a major issue. I always tell first time growers to leave them in the jar until they see there first pin forming. Also(sorry Denny) leave the pins on this is part of your first flush and most of the time they will survive the dunk and roll and continue to grow.  I know where Tuckerman is getting the 85* from(Paul Statmet) but that information is out dated and room temp is fine and 75f is optimal. As the mycelium grows it produces heat as much as 10f so 75F is 85f to the cake.  Leave them room temperature the entire time for best results.  What type of fruiting chamber are you using Moxie? I totally agree with you Ricardo. He retracted his statement 3 years after the fact but the damage was already done and the retraction wasn't released to the public like the study was. In 2002 it was on the news at least once a week how bad MDMA was. I am not saying people didn't die from taking ecstasy back then because they did but they were getting it from drug dealers that would mix MDMA with many different drugs. If you could get Ecstasy at a pharmacy and was regulated by the FDA the drug would be less harmful than 90% of prescription drugs on the market. It is disheartening to see things like this happen. Psilocybin (O-phosphoryl-4-hydroxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine) is a prodrug that is converted into the pharmacologically active compound psilocin in the body by dephosphorylation.[2] This chemical reaction takes place under strongly acidic conditions or enzymatically by phosphatases in the body. The issue of adding a bromine atom to ether Psilocybin or Psilocin is not an issue as Psilocybin is broke down into Psilocin. I would think it would be easier to use Psilocybin as it is a stable compound compared to psilocin. Psilocin breaks down very quickly, but I am not a chemist and which ever is used I am sure it will be synthetic so I don't know if a lab can make a stable version of it and I have no idea how attaching a Bromine atom will effect it.
