The Clusterbusters team has made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to cancel our in-person conference planned for this September in Chicago, Illinois. Due to risks of Covid-19 and restrictions in place in Illinois, we believe this is the only prudent course of action.

We will be hosting a virtual conference in September instead. More details regarding this event will be available as soon as possible.

If you have already registered for the in-person conference, details about your registration can be found here: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=asfwt7iab&oeidk=a07egkpa2ek0382d233

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out by emailing me at conference@clusterbusters.org.

We miss you all and cannot wait for this pandemic to pass so that we can see you all in person, but for now, we will see you online. Please keep an eye out for new event announcements and ways to say connected.

  2. Hi all.

At this time we are still planning to host our conference in person. The health and safety of our attendees is of utmost importance to us. If we determine that it is not wise to host an in person conference in September we will host a virtual event for those dates and consider rescheduling or cancelling. As we learn more about Covid-19, we will keep you updated. As you know this is a rapidly developing and changing situation. Thank you for your patience.

In light of this, we have decided to take registrations without payment moving forward. If we have an in person conference, the price will be $150 and payment will be taken at the door. If we have a virtual conference the price will be $40. For those that have already paid, refunds for part or all of your conference registration fee will be available to you in the event we cancel or you decide not to attend.

Please register if you believe you will attend one or the other. We will still need a head count.

14th Annual Cluster Headache Patient Conference

    Talent Show

    September 19, 2019

We are excited to showcase some of the most talented Clusterheads at this year’s conference. If you sing, dance, play an instrument, or do anything else exciting (and suitable for an audience), we want you to audition!

    • The top 10 will perform on Saturday, September 21, 2019 during the Clusterbusters Farewell Dinner.

    • You must be available and plan to attend the conference in order to apply.

    • We may be limited in the A/V equipment we can supply so please plan accordingly.

    • We will post results of the auditions on Facebook and our website event page on July 30, 2019.

We will also be providing a display area for anyone that wants to display their talents. Let Tim know at the above email address if you’d like to display your visual art. Space may be limited. We’ve witnessed a lot of great talent over the years and we’d love to have you share it with the rest of the community.

Let’s show The Beast what we can do!

Would one who can't afford the conference without a scholarship complete registration after the scholarships are awarded?

Yes, registration will be open until the event and people can even register on site. You will have plenty of time even if you wait for the scholarship. If you would like to attend, you may want to reserve a hotel room though. Those tend to go quickly. You can always cancel in June in the unfortunate event that you do not receive a scholarship and cannot attend.

I live in Denver as well. Altitude and clusters are mutually exclusive.

@eileenbunny, I've never attended this conference but have attended numerous technical conferences over the years. I read over the tentative schedule. Are there descriptions of the speakers themselves and their sessions?

Yes, there will be a syllabus at the conference, and we've been releasing brief bios about the speakers on FB and Twitter. We're still doing them at about a pace of one a week. We are picking up the pace now as the conference gets closer.  Please remember though, this isn't a technical conference. This is a patient conference. This is a space for patients, caregivers, and supporters to learn, but also a space to bond. We are not as formal as a technical conference because that isn't the right atmosphere for forming the type of family style connections that are integral to making this conference a success.
