  1. It's not the size of the boy in the bag... ...but the size of the bag on the boy.
  2. Okay. Peace in the valley. Ricardo, your presence on this board is very much appreciated. Your posts are exceptionally well written. I read every one of them and look forward to your insightful comments whenever you favor us with a new one. Those comments are typically backed by good science which you artfully explain whenever that science starts to go over some of our heads. Using psychedelic drugs to "bust" cluster headaches isn't science. It's an illegal, underground activity that's a long way from being legitimized. Almost daily, we learn something that disproves something else that we had taken for fact. We're a work in progress and will be for some time to come. Bob notes in the first post of this thread that "tonight we are launching our latest version," not the "correct" version or the "final" version but the "latest" version; the version that is as relatively correct as we can make it at this moment in time. It took a whole lot of time and effort by a very few people, working on our behalf, without compensation - time that would rather have been spent with family and friends or doing fun stuff - to bring this latest version to fruition. This is the time for heartfelt thanks and appreciation for a job well done. The time to criticize and correct can come later, after the back-patting and cheers for all the good work involved in preparing this "latest version" are over. Your criticisms are valid, Ricardo. They're not being questioned here. It's the timing of those criticisms that's in question. And it's just me that's doing the questioning. Others will, I'm sure, side with you and expect everything to be perfect when it's presented. Say some friend of ours buys a new car. He's done a lot of research. Talked to a lot of people. Test driven all the potential models. He buys what he thinks is the best bet for his money and after washing and waxing it to perfection, drives it over to our house to show it off. Rather than gush over this wonder of automotive wonders, we pick at every little imperfection and give evidence for what we feel would have been far better choices if we had been doing the choosing. The problem isn't that the imperfections don't exist or that our evidence for making different choices isn't valid. The problem is that we had an opportunity to make our friend feel good; to make him feel like he'd made an intelligent, well-reasoned decision given the information he had. Instead, we hurt his feelings and put a damper on what should have been a festive occasion. It's very important that the information we put out there be accurate and timely. It's also important for us to acknowledge that that information is subject to revision as we learn more about these substances and how they work in human subjects. As "citizen scientists" working underground with illegal drugs, giving subjective opinions regarding their efficacy at mostly indeterminate dosages, we can't help but infuse our results with error. We're doing the best we can with what we've got - but with the understanding that what we're doing isn't science. It's the hit and miss, trial and error groundwork that precedes science. What we do best here is support each other. To me, that's the most important thing and what we should be doing whenever possible. You missed an opportunity to do that, Ricardo. That's all. Not a big deal. Just a missed opportunity to make a few others who are working on our behalf feel good about what they've done. Ron
  3. So sorry, Crystal. It's also sad that everyone here knows exactly what you're talking about. They know exactly what you're talking about feels like.
  4. When it rains... Sorry, Chris.
  5. The point is not whether or not you have a point, Ricardo.
  6. Hi cat, Welcome to our forum. Yes, please tell us what you can about your treatment. You're probably the only one here who's had it. I'm sure we'll have plenty of questions. Thanks, Ron
  7. Most clusterheads smoke. Doesn't seem to matter much to the beast whether you smoke or not. Of course, you shouldn't smoke but quitting probably won't affect your HA's one way or another.
  8. Me and Dan are gonna get to do some severe bonding up at Denny's place the middle of May. I'm looking for a sleeping bag for two.

    WTF?

How do things like this happen? http://www.clusterheadachetreatmentblog.com/precor-9-31-read-best-review-here/
  10. Finally! A forum that Michael's interested in posting on. He can correct some of the misinformation as well as field questions. I wouldn't wish CH on Richard Bruce Cheney, but wouldn't it be "helpful" if we found an MMA star that was so afflicted?
  11. Do you have any idea (you must - you have both a daughter and a wife) how much trouble I'd get in if I even mentioned the possibility of changing the date? It gives me the willies just thinking about it. Their response to my asking would probably be the last thing I'd get to experience in this life. When I told my daughter, jokingly, that Mike and I wouldn't be able to go to her wedding, she didn't laugh... just made a low, kind of growling sound.
  12. There's a current, ongoing discussion of CH on an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) board called Sherdog, if anyone's interested: http://www.sherdog.net/forums/f48/ever-heard-medical-condition-cluster-headache-2047013/index4.html. This is a very popular website for UFC/MMA fans. Might be a way to get some publicity if we got involved.
  13. The Jeebs is right. Bomba's Surfside Shack in the Virgin Islands is still operating and legally serving their famous psychedelic mushroom tea: http://reservationsbvi.com/bomba/index.html.

    am I chronic?

Hi, You'll need to detox from virtually all of your meds before any of the busting procedures discussed here will be effective (http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1270936757). High-volume oxygen hyper-ventilation will help with this as well as provide you with the highest quality abortive legally available (http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1299901790). If you're comfortable using HBWR seeds and you find that they work for you (something you won't know until you've detoxed), they're okay though most find Rivea Corumbosa (RC) seeds easier to prepare, more likely to be viable and less likely to contain contaminants (http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290128974). Since you've already purchased a shroom kit, you might as well get yourself a spore syringe and start your garden. If you for any reason don't use the shrooms yourself, you could help a lot of others who for one reason or another can't grow their own. Good luck! Ron
  15. Purp, Kymera, you guys are amazing! I'm sooo glad I started this thread - even if the hotline idea was a little too ambitious.
  16. Check out the 'CH.com Oxygen Page' in the grey 'Menu' button on the left side of this page. Oxygen is by far the best abortive for virtually all clusterheads but only if used properly at a high enough volume. Any neurologist worth his salt will recommend its use with a diagnosis of CH.
  17.      Welcome Home           Â
  18. Well... the post was re a suicide hotline. A 'wide media information campaign' would certainly be a very good thing though too, I suppose. Why not both?
  19. Anyone have any experience setting up something like this?
  20. Cluster headaches are called suicide headaches for a reason; every year we lose several sufferers who just can't take the pain anymore. I wonder if a telephone number or even several numbers, prominently displayed on the front page, available 24 hours a day to any CH'er contemplating suicide, would be a good idea. Regular suicide hotlines, like those in the front of our telephone books, don't really address this very specific kind of pain. Is this a dumb idea or what?
  21. 2nd surgery? I thought she was going home today.
  22. Thanks, Kage. Let her know we love her back.
  23. Thanks, guys. I'll try to be more careful about what I post in the future. My bad. Ron
  24. Sounds to me like you've been taking psychedelics, Jeebs. How else to explain your sensitivity, broadmindedness and understanding. One other thing: along with politics, religion is the other hot button we should all avoid pushing on this forum. Both of these topics must be avoided in any discussion not centered on one of them. It's good - and wise - of you to remind us.
