  3. Awesome to hear from you Mystina. It's just like hooking up with old friends. Thanks for thinking of me and thanks for the comments. I hope you are doing well! So nice of you. Best, Scott
  4. I think that's me Jeeb. Just look for the Junkyard Angel tracks. And yes, Cindy was cussing!
  5. Saw Paul in Atlanta about 3 years ago. Best show I have EVER seen.
  6. I'm glad I did not love them. Thanks buddy. Scott
  7. Right on blueballs. Nice user name! To be honest, I would trade 3 weeks of opiate wd's over this protracted Benzo wd. The hardest part is accepting it. Accepting that I am going to feel his way for a while longer. But knowing that I am healing every day.

  9. Hey, we are now on YouTube. While you're there, you can also check out some hilarious footage from St. Patty's Day in Savannah, Ga. My wife was railing! We played downtown from 2-5 and the video is of Cindy and I trying to get the hell out of there! Enjoy! Scott
  10. Hey folks, It's been a while so I thought I would pop up through the floor and give ya'll a shout out. I hope all of you are doing well and keeping the beast at bay with your sacred medicines I have not browsed the board so I really don't know what's up with everybody. My HA is pretty much under control thanks to Cymbalta. That is the great news. The other great news is that I started a fantastic new job March 2nd and I recently drove an entry level luxury sedan off the lot....Lexus IS 250. Ha ha...hope there is no class warfare here. I worked hard for this little reward ;D Finally, the BEST news is that my daughter, Cassidy, had the ostomy bag taken down in February and she is doing great! The wife is doing well also. The only problem is that I am still suffering the effects of all the drugs I recently took. In particular, Ativan, a benzodiazepine. Very, very evil shit with very long lasting withdrawals. I am over 70 days off of it and I still have tinnitus and body ache/fatigue. It sucks large but I am better off than many others. I joined a benzo wd support group and learned a lot. I had no idea it would do this to me. Neither did my pain specialist...big surprise uh? Here is a brief history: Chronic nerve pain in head since Nov 2009 due to shingles episode. Left me with Post Herpetic Neuralgia. Addictive drugs not taken in earnest until Aug 18 2011. Took Hydrocodone from Aug 18 2011 - Oct 9 2011. Began taper Oct 10. HC = Hydrocodone TD = Tramadol (non-addictive synthetic opiate - right!) AV = Ativan 120mg HC x 5 days 60mg HC x 5 days 30mg HC x 1 day (too fast - dosed up) 55mg HC x 4 days (then went mad) 100mg TD x 3 days (also began 2mg AV per nite) Continued TD 100-400mg per day along w/ AV for 2-1/2 weeks Last week of TD did quick taper. Took last dose TD on Nov 4. Continued AV thru Jan 27. Was having interdose wd from AV but did not know. Quic 10 day taper: 1mg AV x 5 days .5mg AV x 5 days Last dose Jan 27 Good thing is I am benzo free and pain med free. Now if I can get to that finish line where complete healing lies. I will get there. Later gators, Scott
  11. Wow, appt with Goadsby. Fantastic! I wish you guys the best. Scott
  12. Thanks Ting. I will never leave this message board. Sorry but I'm here to stay. I have made many great friends and I care about what is going on with you all. You are one of the truest friends Scott
  13. Hey busters, I just read somewhere that neurpathic pain gets worse at night. Maybe that explains why my HA has had that pattern for the last 21 months. Been on 900mg days now and its starting to make me sleeeeeepy. It also seems to be trying to alleviate the nerve pain. I will begin a slow taper off pain meds tomorrow. Hoping for the best. If Mayo is right and I do have shingles without the rash, I guess it erupted 21 months ago and went untreated. Now what I have is post herpetic neuralgia. Nerve damage I guess. I am really not sure. All I know is that the Mayo doc said my trigeminal nerve is firing pain signals. Based on some bad experiences with the staff of my local Neuro, not to mention that fact that it appears he misdiagnosed me when after I practically handed it to him on a silver platter, I am changing doctors. I have found a good one and will be making an appt soon. Thank you all so much for the support thru all this. It has been a crazy and challenging time in my life and it's still ongoing. But I see some light at the end of the tunnel. Busting helped me. It had some effect on the pain signaling. I cannot explain it but it did help to a degree. No busting for now but I have something put aside for a rainy day Bye for now but I will be around. Love vibes, Scott
  14. Love me some Hendrix at Monterey. Man, i cannot imagine how mind blowing it must have been for all those peace and love freaks, high on Owsley's, to see and hear Jimi for the very first time. What an introduction. I read that he got a 20 minute standing ovation! Very groovy 8-) Scott
  15. I've busted while on Prednisone. While I did feel effects of busting, the Pred diminished the effects. Personally, I would not bust while on Predsnisone. Scott
  16. Hot portolets at the show last night. Whew! Has to prop the door open with on hand to let air in :-/
  17. Good tips. Thanks! Scott
  18. This is freaking great Ricardo! Thanks for posting. I thought I knew something about it but this teaches me so much more. Got me wanting to go hunting! Scott
  19. Right on Oscar. I think it explains why I seemed to be in a high cycle for the last month or more. It coinsides with the rise in temprerature. Cooled the car off before leaving work today. Good idea. Its hot! Thanks Scott
  20. Hey Leslie! Great to hear from you it's been a while. No kidding, I'm now scared of the heat! There is no way to avoid it! It's hot has hells fire down here in the south. Seems Skibo makes a good point for me. I was on the beach all day yesterday, in the heat, with no problem. But once the heat wave hit me coming off the beach, it nailed me. Sudden temp change. Same thing today in the car. It all coincides with the fact that I seem to be in a higher cycle or flare up for the last month. Summer heat! Damn this mutha :'( Thanks for the reply 8-) gotta wear shades! Scott
  21. Thanks for the reply Slkibo. I'm asking a damn impossible to answer question. Waiting on the jokes to show up Scott
  22. I have figured out that heat is a trigger for me. It happened yesterday when Cindy and I were at the beach. It was a breezy day so the heat was very tolerable but when we came off the beach and approached the street, the lack of breeze and the heat from the asfalt nailed us both. I spike to an instant 5 for 45 minutes. Today am am in the office getting some work caught up. I walked out at 11:30 to go grab lunch. got in the hot car and it spiked to a 5 from a 1. I've been at a 1/2 from 9:00 to 11:30...yay!! Now this may be a stupid question but does anyone know any trick to avoid getting hit from sudden exposure to high heat? Had to ask...never know. Thanks Scott
  23. Ting, just face your fears and paint the sheep. That should take care of the problem. Then take two aspirin and call me in the morning I will pray for you and your family. Hang in there and know that a higher power is at work. Life is hard but love will conquer. Very best wishes. Scott
  24. IM Hurt, Welcome to clusterbusters! I'm sorry you had to find us but I am so glad you did. First off, my advise to you would be to only take Indomethacin to begin with. You need to know if you will respond to it alone. Be careful of gastric side effects. This stuff is notorious for it. You may want to consider a prescription strength antacid to go along with it. You may want to titrate up slowly on it. However, you may be able to jump right in at a therapeutic dose which could range from 100 to 350mg, depending on your case. Everyone is different. If you get relief from it, you may get an official diagnosis of HC. I assume it's a one sided headache? Sounds a lot like mine. I was diagnosed 19 months ago and have not really had a break. I did have a spontaneous remission for about 3 weeks in December but that's about it. I wake with around a 3 then it will dissipate. It will exacerbate throughout the morning and those exacerbations will become more intense late afternoon and more intense in the evening. It's a real bitch and I literally feel your pain. I have made 3 solid attempts to bust since May 2010. I have not broken the headache but I have not given up hope. I am trying a new busting method. Check out my latest thread here: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1310693972/0#3 I am very, very interested in your case so please hang around and keep posting. If it turns out you have HC, you and I appear to be the only ones here. This is a great site. You will find the warmest and most helpful people here. Please let us know what youe Nuero says. By the way, have you tried Melatonin? See post. Hang in there. Scott
