  1. Terrific update!! Works in progress are amazing, considering where we started from. Kudus to all who can attend HOH and these many other events. Getting the word out that we are here and we matter is getting results. THANKS!

    Sorry to read this jimmys. I will add some questions to my wishes for your PF time to start today!!! Do you hit some caffeine right at the start of a hit? Energy shot or drink, coffee, or other form of caffeine? It can abort a hit. Have you tried the D3 regimen? For some, it starts working right away. Some take a week or three before they are PF. A few get no relief. Then there are those that get lower, fewer attacks being on the regimen. Seeds can be ordered and arrive in a few days. Have you considered taking them? Then there are the shadows. Some use caffeine and some use ginger. Ginger can be added to warm water and stirred well and chugged. Add more water to the remaining ginger as it does not dissolve well and finish it off. Some take the time to make a ginger tea for relief. I hope that your cycle is ending and this uptick is its' last hurrah. But if not, then perhaps this adds some ammo to your arsenal.

  4. gartozi, I wish that I had an answer for you! But, I don't. It really sucks when a med that really helps another condition kicks your head into motion.

  6. Shadows: alley says try ground ginger mixed with water. Warm I would suggest. It will be hot - ginger is hot. Chug it and add more water to get the remainder. It does not dissolve. It works for many. I found ginger chews or just chew ginger helps. Energy drinks and coffee work for shadows too. Be sure to eat on your regular schedule. It helps. Stay hydrated. It is your call as to which med to use. Preventatives work on the schedule you choose, based on your CH. Some, every 3 months.Some, every month. Your head will dictate. You will know. It is based on episodic or chronic. If you know when your cycle will start, you know to start preventing before by a few weeks. For chronics it is very different. You go by the relief, not the calendar. spiny

  8. Taper way back on the Melatonin when this cycle is finished. You could find that even 10mg is too much out of cycle. If you wake up groggy, drop it on down. If you wake refreshed and all, keep it at that level, be it 0 or 3mg or 9mg. I take 30mg in cycle too. We do what we must sometimes. ATB spiny

I don't know him, but his services have been beyond value to us. He deserves all the best of everything. He has earned a ton of good Karma!!!!

  24. Well, not really. CH is weird!!!!! Initially, all my hits were daytime. For the last 6-8 years they have been all nocturnal. Like nonstop from 8pm to 6am. Until two weeks ago. So, there ya go. Got hit hard at the hairdressers last week!!! I had her running to get the coffee made for me. Then, got the nighttime ones too. Weather slams me from barometric drops. But, I should be CH free! > I hate winter weather changes - they hurt!!!! You are not being a downer!!!! CH during the holidays is awful. But, we plow on and those who love us understand as much as they possibly can. Your girls will be on vacation soon, like really soon for the holidays. Pick your best likely time (you will know when that is) and spend it with them. Get out in the cold and play something (cold air helps many) or pile them up in your chair with you and watch holidays films together!! They won't understand what you are going thru, but they will love the time with you! I got one of my worst hits Christmas Day last year with a house full of people. I ran from the room and did not return. It was extremely embarrassing is an understatement. Funny thing is that no one noticed!!!! When I apologized later, everyone was like 'What?' Yes, it does get you down. But, I doubt that you are being a 'downer' to those around you. BTW: My cycles run from Aug-Sept thru Mar-Apr. So, I totally know what you mean about the winter ones being the worst. We hate not being at our best during the holiday season. We want desperately to be happy and cheerful with the rest of our family. You do your best and figure out how to keep the stress level down. Keep after it. You will win. I truly think there is no stronger person than a CH warrior. :-*
