  1. It seems that this might not be needed since the needle is touching nothing but the sterile foil. Perhaps wipe down the foil with alcohol and let dry before punching it since it could have picked something while cooling. But, I am not the pro Potter is. I read a lot.
  2. Denny that is hysterical!!!! ;D
  3. I need a like button for weathermans post!!!!! May the Grinch stay away and Christmas/New Years be bright all around. 8-)
  4. didgens, I can only speak to the weather and stress part. They both suck for CH. The time of year also sucks. Well, I guess that means that I can speak to the Equinox and Solstice part too. :-[ Do not be surprised, but do be pro-active. Even if it is a little late, you can be pro-active. Alley gave great advice. I suggest you follow it. I have had more random' hits than normal by a long shot due to low pressure fronts and temp changes. Wacky weather means active CH for many and we have had some wacky weather. All the best. I know that you will take good care of him!
  5. Update. It has been a month now. I have not had a single night sweat. Pillow totally dry. These are not menopause induced sweats, more like REM or wake up things. But they are gone and I am thrilled. No affect on my CH. But, it has only been a month. The other issues will take a while to confirm as well - nails, hair, bones. But I do look forward to improvement in these areas at least. Since I cannot take the stupid Osteo meds, this could be a real help with future health. all the best!
  6. Hi Whooli!! Congratulations on your daughter!!!! Since docs here will no longer prescribe Quinine for restless legs, I drink Tonic Water. Two glasses in the evening. It really helps, as does walking. If it gets bad, I also do stretching exercises like up on toes and pull toes to nose things to stretch the calf muscles. It helps me as does a massage with lotion or oil. The rest, I don't know. But since pain meds can be constipating, the diarrhea would seem normal. Perhaps backing off on veggies (especially corn) could help. Some people find cheese constipating, so eating hard cheese might help too. Sorry you are having a rough withdrawal, but you will be so glad to be free of that stuff!!!! Bet your head will appreciate it too. All the best! spiny
  7. You can use coffee instead of energy drinks. Drink at the first sign of CH. With your O2, exhale completely and inhale deeply. Out with the bad and in with the good and all that.
  8. Spread the word, again and again and again!!!! Great job. Now a few more people get the picture and that is wonderful.
  9. heilette had this done with adverse results as I recall. If I remember correctly, she had no pain relief but could not open her jaw but a small amount for a long time after this operation. She lives in South Africa!
  10. alley, I am so looking forward to it!!! There are some other important areas that it will help, such as Osteoporosis and headaches. Usually migraines according to current research, but most researchers do not look into Clusters.
  11. I just had my hormone levels tested for other reasons. While estrogen and progesterone were fine, I had zero T. Not low - Zero!!! Start on the shots next week. This is supposed to help with night sweats, hair loss, and brittle nails. These are issues that I have had since a six month cycle in 2010. Several docs have said 'that looks systemic' and 'do something about it' not one suggested hormone check or how to 'do something about it'!!! Anyway, zero T is bad for women too. : I look forward to seeing some improvement.
  12. Cluster Headache: Is a headache like a stroke is a pinprick. Cluster Headache: The gift that steals your life. Cluster Headache: Invisible hell. Cluster headache: Have one and see if the name fits!
  13. Looks like you got some med free time Whooli and that is great!!!! You just do the best you can since those meds can limit or eliminate your benefit. Read the links. I am soooooooooo glad you did get some benefit! My understanding is that this treatment can help with other stuff like PTSD too. [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] Having a clear head must feel wonderful.
  14. That is wonderful Dan!! Yes it is! [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]
  15. Great to see you post again Whooli! Very glad to hear your treatment is in progress and AVM is shrinking! Last update I had was that you were in 'wait' mode. Now the update on the clusters was not such welcome news. So sorry the going is so rough right now. :'( All the best in your efforts to KO the beast! Stay in touch! spiny
  16. CT, Yep, Aug-Sept is the start and Mar-Apr the end of cycle. Many decades ago, I had multiple low level hits daily and one at night. Then, I went into remission for years. When they returned, I was Episodic with a 6-7 month cycle. They were much different: 2.5 hours in duration, very high pain level, and four per night. Yes, they morphed big time. In addition, the shadows were constant and picking a pen up off the floor would start another hit. > The neck pain started and became unreal too. Many good aids on this site!!! O2 is the best abortive for me, combined with caffeine. Sleeping in a recliner. Well, I read mostly till 6am. D3 protocol helps. And of course there are the other aids detailed here too. The people here have been so supportive and helpful it is hard to imagine. A lot to learn, but huge benefit in gaining your life back. 8-) all the best, spiny
  17. merolamar, Yes, I do get that annoying snap, crackle pop. Or, you blow your nose and your ear squeaks!!! Pressure changes is my understanding. Mostly I get it with barometric drop due to weather or altitude change. BTW, it took months to get my D up to 100.
  18. Doug, There are no adds on this page!!!!!!!! [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] Cool!

    Ice cream

Nah, we should have gone to Denver for the Mushroom festival with Fox News and Father Jonathan!!!!! 8-)
  20. "Withdrawal Home Remedies"????????? I see your point Jeff and agree.
  21. Circadian rules I think. I just have jacked up WBC every work up and no answers except "Don't worry". Jeebs: We made our own 'old' or 'stone washed' jeans by putting them out in the sun and wetting for days while rubbing with sand! ;D Sure hated it when my older brother got too big for me to take over his old, worn jeans!
  22. Cindy, As I recall, donating was not invasive last year. Let me know another way please. Or I could just send the donation with a friend who is going to be there! spiny
  23. So, if we have high TNF, is that why, even as heavy smokers, surveys show very few cases of cancer? Seems I read here a long time ago that cancer rates among CH'ers that smoked were somewhere in the .3% category. Another thought: Would this virus idea be the reason that my WBC is always elevated? Not real high, but always out of normal range on the high side? Docs never have an answer when I question it, just shrug and say 'Don't worry'. Just thinking out loud.
  24. Pos1964, I am so delighted with Jan's success!! [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif] You guys deserve all the best health and happiness. spiny
