  1. Well I think it's official. I went from no more than 4 months off to a full YEAR!!! I know things change and the body is good at becoming immune but a win is a win and I feel like a winner! I'm even making chicken for dinner!

Okay HERE WE ARE at July 3rd - what 's the verdict @BoscoPiko, did we make it a full year without an attack?!

    I'm practically assuming so. :)

In light of OldArn's bad news/bad results yesterday, some good news is sorely needed, and I figure that is your jam today. :D

Yes, here we are and so far so good! I feel good and am void of any warning signs... I think I finally made it a full year (never achieved this in all my CH life):D

  5. Thanks @Shaun brearleyyour 2 kind. Oddly enough after my last response to @Bejeeber  I got a notice from Kaiser and Sutter (my insurance plan providers) telling me that my script would no longer be covered by my insurance and that my script was not being canceled but I would have to foot the bill as my BMI (body mass index) suddenly did not qualify for coverage. As a consolation they advised me where I could have my script filled at my own cost of $1k per 30 day supply. I'm not as upset as I thought I would be as I've learned to have a backup plan for all of these pharma/insurance provider shenanigan's. I suppose I am just bummed that I can't experiment a bit longer. I've had such great success with adhering to some of the methods and means provided to me via this site that I don't care as much about the denial of coverage. (They can go suck a cluster bunny egg, maybe.. hopefully choke on it 2)! Anyhow I am nearing the one year mark ATTACK FREE! I pray I am not jinxing myself but at the same time I am 2 grateful not to share the news! My last attack (only one mind you and not a cycle) was last year on July 3rd. I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared.  At the same time my heart swells with pride over the help and much needed support that I have received no where other than here!   All of you are the very best!!!! Happy 4th!

No shadows on the days on? Sometimes it seems like the real use for most meds out there was discovered inadvertently when it was noted that they alleviated some unanticipated thing.

Thank you for discovering that Semaglitude should be investigated for off label CH prevention, trials starting immediately :D. You should get credit, royalties, and they should change that ugliest of names to 'Boscofixya' or similar.

LOL.. Well my train of through is the lowering of blood sugar? Not sure if that makes a difference with CH or not. And yea I just realized after reading your response that the name is sorta gross

  7. Not sure if this is important or not but figured I would speak to it. Even though my weight is in line, my body tends to not produce enough insulin. I am not diabetic or anything of that nature so it has thrown a few Dr. for a loop. I was heavy for my size  at one time but am now 125. Then 180 (big for a 5 six chick) anyhow  two months ago I was started on a semaglutide. My stomach rejected it pretty harshly and I started to question the script. I decided to do an experiment. One day on, and one day off. All of my days off resulted in serious shadows. This is very preliminary/conceptual and I've yet to have a definitive response to it. I'm just wondering if anyone else with CH has an issue with insulin creation (non diabetic) that is.

  8. I personally would keep loading for at least 12 to 14 days depending on how your head is feeling. The one a day verses 5/6 is great improvement and very similar to my own experience when starting on the D. I first started getting less hits per day and then the hits that remained here and there were very muted in comparison. I loaded with 100,000 IU/day along with all co-factors for 14/days. This is just what I myself would do and is not necessarily the recommended protocol. Maybe the amazing Batch @xxx will give some advice.

    I’m from Sacramento, California

Wow, closest cluster head to myself that I know of (I'm in El Dorado Hills). Yes Sac and El Do are awfully hot during summer and at times I have to take breaks from it if trying to do outdoors stuff as it can help along a banger...

  10. Hi Jimmy,

The 240 a day is most likely to low to help much. I am on 480 and take two in the am and two in the pm but I usually have day time attacks. Many on here have mentioned that the rapid release is more effective than the extended. If you are on the ER you may want to talk to your doctor about swapping to RR as it seems like that may be more effective taken in the evening to keep the night attacks at bay.

  11. I'll start by saying I haven't lived in any of these places except Humboldt County (grew up there) but did a quick net search for what that's worth..

Cape Hatteras, North Carolina-Up side= 83 most of the year. Down side= high hurricane risk

Humboldt County, CA-Up side very little weather variation normal temp in summer 70/80, lots of outdoorsy stuff (Home to Avenue of the Giants, good fishing and hunting, on the ocean and quite beautiful. Down side-It's California (the land of regulation)

Galveston, Texas-Up Side-Normal January low temperature: 49 degrees/Normal July high temperature: 89.6 degrees

Kahului, Hawaii-Up side-Normal January low temperature: 63 degrees/Normal July high temperature: 87 degrees. Down Side-Super spendy (never lived but have been many times prior to CH)

  12. Hi Shaun,

When I first started the D3 regimen Batch had suggested 100,000 IU a day for 12 days and then drop back to a maintenance dose of 15,000 IU/day with the oil-based liquid soft gel vitamin D3 formulations or 100,000 IU/week with the Bio-Tech D3 50 50,000 IU water soluble vitamin D3. Additionally you will need to take all the co-factors see below.

Here is a copy and paste from some of his protocol overview and the link if you want to sift through it as well:

A lil' boot can't hold Abby back! :D

Nope it sure can't! We take her to 3 or 4 parks a day so she gets some out and about time even if she isn't willing to get out of the car yet. We have the back of the rover set up just for her. She is an old gal but deserves her last few years to be happy ones.20230523_174943.thumb.jpg.542695edf459dce65bed3c0eb8d5aed9.jpg

  14. Hey @Bejeeber,

She is finally out of the cast as of last week and into the boot! She is getting around on it pretty darn well. She will have to stay in the boot for at least six months but it is so much better than a cast. She now uses a ramp to get on our bed. Yes.... a REAL bed! We are big timing it now days:P

Bosco, your insurance should cover it for CH! And they usually have a partial bottle left over to hit any spot you request. ;) You know, cause it has to be trashed after all. Why are you footing the bill?

    Hey @spiny,

Yes you are correct that they cover it but only if I follow their so called protocol and  try a bunch of things I'm not willing to. They told me the next thing  I needed to try before it would be approved was a nerve block and I'm just not ok with that.

Give it two weeks Bosco! You will be able to see the full effect then. :) I am sure they told you this already, but it is fun to watch a furrow vanish. ;)

Two birds and all that, right?

Hey @spiny, yea they did tell me it would take a minimum of 10 days. Not sure how reversible my resting BF is but it was worth a shot. They used 50 units so I should have some noticeable improvement. Two birds is always great:P The cost is not real sustainable but I have been curious for some time so I just went for it.

  17. Hi everyone,

I wanted to take a minute and share some of my efforts to battle the bunny. I have quite a few stones that have been left un-turned but today I turned one more. My insurance is dreadful even though I have the best I can get. I have been curious  about Botox for some time and decided to just pay out of pocket today (not 100% for CH mind you (middle aged chic here), but a mixture). I went in with pretty measurable shadows. The process was easy and less painful than i had anticipated. The end result that I'm sorta excited about is that my dancing eye is gone and my shadows were lessened! I couldn't tell you about how it effected my CH as I don't believe I'm in cycle, but the minor pluses count in my book! I don't think it will help with a cycle to be 100% honest but it has helped me to stop winking at every passer by. Not much but something!

Any place one could purchase a tee shirt?

Well I did a search for CB tee shirts and initially a few images of actual folks wearing the seemingly real CB shirts popped up, then I clicked the shop button and this is literally what came up.... LOL Sorry but I guess we have to go to get an actual shirt... IDK something tells me you wont be sporting this on your next fishing trip @Rod H:lol:  Picture 27 of 85
