Psychedelic Medicine (Book)

Hi there my brothers and sisters!

I am considering buying the book 'Psychedelic Medicine: New Evidence for Hallucinogenic Substances as Treatments' but it is prized quite high so I'm wondering if any of you fellow CH sufferers have found this book to be of particular value for CH sufferers or do this message board cover it? I personally think most of the information concerning CH is probably already in here but it may be a good source book to have. What do you think? Do any of you own the book and is it worth the £131/$200 it costs to get it from amazon? PF wishes to you all!

/Michael

Hi Michael,

While I'm not familiar with the book, here's a review by Erowid:

http://www.erowid.org/library/review/review.php?p=264

and a better price: (for US buyers)   :-/

http://www.abc-clio.com/product.aspx?id=57108

Maybe you can get a US friend to help you out...

I see that it was published in 2007--the research is moving quickly forward so it may be a bit dated.

Good luck, Steve

Personally I'll never go to a torrent site again.  Went twice and twice my computer got infected with something the antivirus either didn't see or couldn't protect against.  (McAfee stinks by the way, they'll be happy to charge you to 'attempt' to remove something their software let right in).

Let us know if you find something AO.  I wouldn't mind reading it, but am gun shy of downloading anything that's public.

Just for future reference, there's an amazing number of books completely available for reading online at google books. http://books.google.com.  This particular book, however, is not available.  When I was compiling some links for this site, I found a bunch of books on google books (not recommending any of these, but here in case anyone's interested in seeing them). These, as you can see, are old . . . but there are lots of newer ones there also, so if it's something I just want to skim, I always look at google books to see if it's there.  Sometimes the whole book appears; or else you can use the search bar to find specific things you're looking for.

I know the author. he actually spoke at one of the Clusterbuster conferences.

There is a section on treating clusters with psilocybin and LSD. Clusterbusters is mentioned

We have auctione off a couple sets at the conferences. Stop in and maybe you can get a deal ;-)
