just have the doc call it in to the supplier

he can actually prescribe 12-15lpm?

thought protocol is 7lpm, thats what i got but went and bought a higher capacity regulator, may be issues with ins for a high flow, not sure... they are all different in the same country

only thing i could really find, hope it helps

The doctor is like an uncle. He's my doctor and all BUT he will write whatever I ask him to write. Obviously, For ligit reasons.... and not shady ones.

Last time someone told me to word it

"Prescribe oxygen at a flowrate on 12-15LPM with a re-breather mask AS NEEDED"...

I think this is what I needed. But I just want to make sure before I get the O2. It's ridiculous. I feel like I'm buying ilLegal drugs, Lol.

well have em write it out that way, fax it to the supplier, call while your still in the office to make sure its okay.

if your good with this uncle doc, and its written wrong, shouldnt be too much of a prob to scribble out another and fax it over.

yea i hear ya getting air in a bottle, what a pain in the backside

perhaps a lifetime script or one thats last longer than a year?

ive had o2 for 5-6 years, only need one script at the start, i did however have to have my doctor fax a letter about how i need to use it so i could get more and ins would pay for it. what a battle that was lol

oh and i think its "non- rebreather" ( not re-breather ) but thats a minor quirk that can be handled on your own, those generic masks are crap any ways

good luck man, sorry i cant answer you definitely, but maybe when u find out the exact way it needs to be done we can post the info here for others like yourself and newcomers. i skimmed through our o2 page but didnt see anything, may have missed it

someone here, recently, actually got a demand valve system prescribed and covered by insurance.  so if you've got a friendly doc, maybe you want to try for more than the basics.  at least maybe a higher-flow regulator

(demand valve is highly praised by everyone who has one, or at least everyone i've heard from who has it.  you can read about it here: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/O2/index.html)

hey, J'FC, what else are you doing to treat your clusters?

It depends on what's going on. I've been episodic for around 12 years ish. There isnt much I've tried. I am thinking of shrooming.... Financially, I can go through this shit at christmas time. Thankfully, this is the first and only time. The last two days I have had ...it's hard to explain....a half of a CH. I have felt it creeping for the last few weeks if I was drinking...took excedrine and it went away.

My cycles have started like this before. Thank fucking God but over the years, my cycles have actually gotten less severe and not as long. Now I actually know what to avoid(triggers)

I really want to try the shroom to knock out the cycle, but am scared shitless of taking hallucinogens ...I took a buch at one point in my life. Went back to it a few years ago...and hated it.

Demand value- is that all my doctor has to write ?

Demand valve is the key ingredient, but you also need a regulator with a DISS fitting (Diameter Index Safety System).  I am assuming that if your friendly doc prescribes demand valve, that your O2 supplier will know what that is and how to get it to you in functional form.  In my post, I was just mentioning that someone here was able to get that, and have it covered -- but I don't really know all the prescribing/insurance ins and outs.  There are a couple of demand valve threads at ch.com, and there are many dv experts here, so maybe someone will chime in about the doc/insurance interface.

Your concern about taking hallucinogens is shared by many people here.  One option is to try RC (rivea corymbosa) seeds, which work very effectively for most people (some experts think they're actually better than shrooms) at dosages that involve no psychedelic effects at all, or at most very, very minor effects.  You can start with a low dosage and gradually work your way up, still avoiding those undesired effects--in fact, some people here have reported full relief from dosages that would be considered very small indeed.  It sounds like you have not yet started any of the standard meds that can block busting (verapamil, imitrex), so this could be an ideal time to get some seeds and go for it. Here's the basic file on seeds: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290128974

Does the virtually everything that you have tried include the "vitamin D3" protocol and the licorice root/skullcap protocol (two different things)?  Both have worked really well for a lot of people.  The D3 you can do even if on meds; the licorice root is not advised while on some meds.

I'm not sure about the Diss. I have good insurance. They cover just about everything ...actually, everything I've ever tired. So, I can ask my doc to write whatever and see what happens.

With the RC seeds or whatever, I think last time I was going to try the seeds, went on a site to order them , and the site wouldn't ship them because I live in Louisiana IF I remember correctly. I think it's illegal here. "D3" or the licorice root...have not yet tried these. I just picked up B2,B3 and B6 to take. Today wasn't bad though. I chugged a monster energy drink and took an Excedrin and it kicked 2 from starting( this usually works for me in the beginning... then depending on how long my cycle is, nothing works except o2). Where do I get RC seeds...? site?

I didn't ever try Verapamil bc of the ED side effects someone here told me about. (no chance I'm trading CH for ED, lol @ 30 years old!)

http://psychoactiveherbs.com/

is this a good site to get them from ...?

we have had success busting with RC seeds from there.  another popular one is www.iamshaman.com.

i don't know much about those other vitamins . . . but please read that D3 file i linked you to.  and there was a person here who had great success combining the D3 with the licorice root.  let us know if you're going to try either or both of these.

Ok thanks for all the help. I'm going to get the o2 RX today.

And I found some "medicine" from a friend. I tried one time to get RC seeds from the ismshaman guy and they wouldnt ship if because of my state laws... Crap. Whatever, I can deal with being crazy from mushroom for 5 hrs ish if it kills a cycle. If this works, it'll be the best thing ever for me. Here's to thinking positive!
