2012 Conference chatter

Thought i'd put this on the General Board since its not about "official" conference info.

Wondering who is going and why.....

Also, for those that have attended one of our conferences, what is your favorite memory, presentation or experience.

(or all the above)

One of my favorite presentors wasn't a professional but was KaBoom's daughter Bailey. A very brave and well done presentation that touched upon the importance of family and the importance of support. It IS our best medicine.

Some of our best moments don't always occur in the meeting rooms. One of my best was a large group of us up in a room afterwards with Mitch playing guitar. "Chillin" doesnt get much better than that.

Yep. I'm goin'. Got my room reserved, still need to get my airline ticket and pay my way through the door.

I also very much enjoyed Bailey's presentation. Sort of the culmination of why we're all still here.

Why am I going? I could list a thousand reasons, but this one sums it up:

I can't NOT go.

I'm going too, and can't wait for this one!!

I regrettably missed Bailey's presentation, but one of my favorites was my own neurologist, Dr. Kenneth Lazarus presenting on treating CH from a physician's viewpoint ... very moving.

And I'm with you Bob as to my favorite moment being Mitch singing and playing guitar in our room at the end of the day. :)  As I remember, the bathroom was fairly busy that night. ;) ;D

I really enjoyed Portland two years ago. That's not too long after mushrooms saved my life, thanks to all of you.

The Chicago convention was nice but my attacks were pretty bad and got a major hit on the plane on the way home.

I really liked Larrys presentation last year. I can't recall his last name, but he's one of us. He sat cross legged and barefooted on the table when he gave his talk.....funny the things one remembers.

I DO recall having the best shrimp I've ever had( with some kind of funky noodles ) with cocktails with my sweet wife and Dallas Denny in Portland. Yes indeedy, cocktails and no headache!!!!

Lots of good people, that's what I enjoy most. Good friends that"get it" :)

I've gone as far as booking flights (refundable) in hopes of making it.

The wife will want to go on this Vegas trip too as she's a fan of the slots. Wuh oh.

My hopes of going mainly revolve around meeting up with and hanging out with the good message board folk here.  8-)

Anyone thinking about going and haven't booked your rooms yet, I would suggest you do so soon. The cut off date is fast approaching and they will want any rooms left in our block back. There are some other large conventions going on there.

You can always cancel if you need to so I'd hate to see some of you having to pay almost double for rooms.

Be advised: It's not a typical cancellation policy. I believe you would need to cancel 72 hours in advance in order to receive your full refund.

(Most hotels only require you to cancel by 3 or 4 p.m. the scheduled day of arrival.)

Hi All,

Truly, jazzed to be attending my Wife & I. My Dear Wife has been my Saint dealing with my health issue all these years, & it will be nice for her to meet the other wives going through the same. I have been cursed since 1995, being chronic to boot...

I'm not a great blogger so looking forward to meeting you all in person. It will be a first to meet CH after all these years.

Also have stayed at the Rio Hotel for years, but has been about seven since. Great Place all rooms are good size suites.

Blessing to All & painFREE!!!!!

Hello to everyone,

I am coming to my first meeting and  excited to meet everyone.  I am part of the Atlanta group that includes alleyoop and tuckerman48.  Those guys and others have helped me survive and I am doing well because of this board.

I am also planning on winning big betting on college football   8-)

It's been over 10 years since I've been to the Rio, but I too remember they had nice good size suites.

I've made sure to lock in my $85 room rate for this conference, as my likelihood of attending has now risen on the Jeebs-o-meter to to 68%!  :D

How can any of us afford NOT to go, really, considering the windfall profits we can expect from the gambling, gambling and more gambling??  ;D

Lol Jeebs!!  Talk about feelin old, the last (and only) time is was in Vegas was around Sept of 66, about 30 days before I shipped out to Nam....I had just turned 19 and was in Marine uniform....they let me in the casinos and let me drink but wouldn't let me play the slots!!!

Whoa - now THAT'S a Vegas story :o, so you'll be returning in Sept. 2012 for your 46th Vegas anniversary!

Oh those pesky pesky decades can end up flinging by ever so rapidly, can they not? Let the whippersnappers like Dan here be forewarned.  :D

Here's a random photo found online of Vegas June '66 for your reminiscing pleasure   ;D

I'm with Dan.....as far as favorites go!  Clearly Lee Ann is with Dan, "the force" is with Dan and most likely the "men in black" too!

Loved getting the special "group" therapy session led by a fellow CHer trained in psychology!  I just felt so united & vulnerable at the same time....sort of the same as the year before when we all took the PTSD tests!!!

Looking forward to Carter Lee's presentation this year for the same reasons!!!

I'll be bringing my regulator, but expect no hits as my preventative dosing regimen is working beautifully!!!!

Got my hotel room reserved last week!! wahoo..  Arrive Wed night and leave Sun morning.  Figured I'd get there early to scope out a good seat. :)  (oh yea, and shell out a few bucks to the slots :)

PFW,

Jeff
