Hi, My new diet seems to eliminate cluster headaches. (5m CH free)

CH for about 10y,,,,2-3month cycles on / off

Meds didnt't work , O2 worked fine for pain management.

Vit D regiment  was too much for my stomach to handle.

DIET CHANGE

August 1st 2017  I 've decided to eat healthy and STICK TO IT no matter what.

1. NO added SUGAR.    By doing so I ve effectilvy eliminated all the processed foods , No exception except for whole grain wheat bread,  not even ketchup, it it has any sugar or additives,no pizza, ham ,mayo,

2. FRUITS AND VEGATABLES become a huge part of my diet

3.SUPPLEMENTS : VitD,MG, MUltyvitamin

4.NO JUNK FOOD, NO FRIED FOOD, - I eat healty foods now, but nothing extreme like some "health nuts" do. Home cooked food.

So far I've not had even one attack or a shadow.

I'll report in march if I'm still CH free or not.

But regardless , I cant even remember last time I was CH free winter time.

5month CH free,,

I tried no sugar diet before, but I was cheating , and eating sugary junk food from time to time.

Has anybody had any success with an extreme diet change like this?

Thanks , Marry Christmas,

I’m glad you are feeling some relief but don’t let your guard down. Everyone reacts differently and maybe you found something for you and that’s awesome but I went full paleo for 5 years and it changed everything but my CH. I lost 100 lbs, skin cleared up, slept better (out of cycle), etc. when cycle was in, CH was there no matter what. That being said, being afflicted with CH is bad enough. Eating healthy may at least avoid other health risks. I hope you found something that works for you. Just be ready no matter what. Good luck.
