  1. I saw a comment by Flash on his Facebook homepage this morning about a new, soon to be published book about us by Dr Joanna Kempner!! How a group of regular citizens debilitated by excruciating pain developed their own medicine from home-grown psilocybin mushrooms—producing near-clinical grade protocols, and their fight for recognition in a broken medical system Joanna Kempner is the premier expert on the social impact of headache diseases. In Psychedelic Outlaws, she follows a group of people called “Clusterbusters,” a community bound by their experience with cluster headache—a neurological disease so excruciating, its pain is often likened to being shot in the head, repeatedly, multiple times per day. Obtaining a diagnosis can take years and treatments often leave patients worse off than they were before. There's a grim reality behind the disease's nickname, suicide headache. Kempner’s narrative traces this patient movement to its origins to the extraordinary experiments conducted by a man named “Flash” in Aberdeen, Scotland, and then follows it forward, as the idea of using psychedelics for pain begins to gather in the early days of the internet, and then eventually became a full-fledged effort to bring this knowledge to universities. Their story looks at the politics of pain, why some drugs make it to market when others don’t, and our culture’s complicated history with psychedelics.

  2. I've been in the Austin area for 7 years now, so you'd think I might know, right??!! But sorry, I haven't used O2 since arriving, so I'm of no help. You may already be aware that many do switch to using welding O2 when medical O2 availability or cost isn't working out for them. I don't want to threadjack here, but as an aside, many forum members have been needing a whole lot less O2 since pursuing the non-pharmaceutical preventives such as are discussed in the blue New Users - Please Read Here First banner link at the top of the page, in case you haven't already been looking into such already.

  3. 4 weeks out from last treatment and still hanging in. Not complete pain free but now averaging about 7 clusters a week instead of a day, for me that is as close to pain free I have been in years. Question now is do I do a bust to see if it puts me over the edge to total pain free or do I hold out and see how long this last. I am afraid to rock the boat with a bust and have it set me back.

  4. Are they not providing tanks to anyone or only headache therapy customers? The company I have used for years stopped providing for headache therapy and it took me over 2 weeks of calling and climbing the chain of command to get to the VP in my area. I had to come up with a compromise with the kind fella and now I pay twice as much and get half the amount of tanks I did in the past but I am still getting them so that is all that counts. Don't just take what they say, apply pressure and ask to talk to the next level of management until you get what you need. Then butter up the delivery driver to get as much out of them as you can. I am not in your area, im on the east coast but it may work for you too.
