  1. Good morning! I am a relatively new member to this group. I have suffered from clusters for approximately 6 years..............3 were episodal...........the last 3 have been chronic. Like everyone else, I have tried a number of abortives or preventatives. Some did help my clusters, but were nullified by side effects. Others were not an option, as doctors and/or pharmacists refused to dispense certain medications to a Type 1. I do appreciate the complexity I present to the medical establishment, but am starting to feel rather desperate. The stress of an attack (usually a couple a night) raise my sugars............surely this is as damaging as some meds? However, not being a physician............... Anyways, (without going into detail about the lack of medical knowledge or information, as it seems most of you have beaten your heads against this wall, as well), I am considering trying psilocybin. Unfortunately, because of the legal issues, no medical professional is going to give me advise on this subject (other than to avoid any psychedelics, as I won't be able to control a low sugar reaction). I was wondering if there had been any research done using psilocybin when one is a Type 1 diabetic.................long term complications, as well as short term issues. Thanks Debbie PS...........whether this is a solution for my particular problem or not, I would like to thank everyone who posts. While I wish that none of us suffered from clusters, it is comforting to know others understand what I am going through.
