  1. I may try to get in with either a headache doctor or let my physical therapist know. It's definitely the same feeling as a cluster headache though. One sided, around the eye, one nostril gets plugged up. It's so bizarre!
  2. Hi all! First off wanted to say thank you to everyone on this board for years of help and support. You all are the best! So right now I have something rather strange going on, that I haven't experienced in my 20 yrs of CH. I'm not currently in a cycle but I've been getting one headache per day. I have strange pain at the base of my skull on my cluster side that sort of throbs. I also have a sore spot at the top part of my spine where there's that knob in the top middle of my back. Im so confused by this! I've had one off, out of cycle headaches before that were triggered by physical trauma (usually facial on my cluster side) but never anything like this. And again, I'm not in cycle because I'm not triggered by alcohol or stuffy rooms. I don't have the eye twitches either. And all of the usual abortive things I do don't work, like mushrooms, red bull or vigorous exercise. Weirdly ibuprofen helps a bit and ice to the location. But I cant seem to pinpoint what's causing it or where the soreness is coming from originally. I'm truly at a loss. Has anyone else experienced this?
  3. Hello! I'm currently at the end of a cycle after being pain-free for 2 1/2 years. At the end of my last one, I started experimenting with taking Melatonin (9-12mg). So when this current cycle started, I committed to taking Melatonin every night. I had really great results which is very exciting for me! This cycle was still the same length as my other ones (3 weeks) but my attacks were more spread out. One thing I'm noticing now that they're starting to wind down is that the Melatonin is leaving me waaay more groggy. At the height of my attacks (the first 2 weeks), I would take 9-12mgs and wake up the next morning (on the pain-free days) and feel completely fine and awake. This was all very surprising to me because when I take Melatonin out of a cycle, even just 3 mgs, I feel so bogged down the next day. Now that my cycle is ending, I'm starting to feel that groggy feeling again. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it have to do with my internal Melatonin levels during cycles? Thanks! Samantha
