  1. Huge Kudos to Bob and Flash, the guy from Scotland, to start this thing. After so long it's time we moved the game on - BOL 148 - seems to be lost in long grass and that's a crying shame for too many of us. But equally it's surely time to re-evaluate society's relationship with psychedelics, the whole toxicity that lingers from the Nixon era of prohibition has damaged too many people. Change is coming to the way we treat mental trauma and it's up to us to accelerate that process.
  2. Way back I was an active member here, so long in fact that this nice new message board demanded I create a new user name etc, and it was touch and go proving that I'm not a robot. I'm based in the UK and was one of Andrew Sewell's participants in the Harvard Medical School study on psychedelics and cluster headaches back in 2006. Whilst I'm not in 'cycle' right now and haven't been for a few years I have been busy writing a book - Resurrection Trip. a sprawling biography in which CH features fairly prominently. It'll be out in a bit once the audio version is finished, and I thought I'd look at the progress alternative treatments have made in the intervening period - especially on the Ouch (UK) site, since I saw the excellent specialist is now a trustee on their board. Visibly not much has changed BUT one press release I intend to publish (to drum up interest in the book since I'm self publishing) is a call to relax the rules for research into psychedelics and cluster headaches which the specialist will be happy to quoted in. For the first time maybe there's a chink of light, suggesting acceptance might just follow. It is a bit of a minefield - patient safety is obviously paramount - and his gut feel is to start with micro-dosing. I think maybe a little more worked better for me (but not a full blown 'heroic' experience). Also ideally for headache therapy the psychedelic effect would be engineered out, I remember Bromo-LSD being talked of at one stage as a suitable option. Given the exciting results full blown psychedelics have enjoyed treating so many areas of mental trauma my impression is that CH been left alone, a little, I'd love to be proved wrong - hence my post. All views you can share are welcome and signposts to more recent research, Thank you for reading this and I look forward to hearing from you, Kind Regards Martin
