Wayne
G'Day Folks and greetings from New Zealand I guess you could say that I am a fairly accomplished clusterhead having lived with the beast for well over 10 years now and have been a member of the sister board for many years. I am chronic and verapamil is my mainstay and is usually very effective supplemented occasionally with energy drinks. I seem to go through one high cycle a year which moves around the calendar as I move around the world. Once a year or so I give the Verapamil a break for a month and use Lithium for that time and sometimes in a stubborn cycle I use both although I am not fond of doing that. I tried the D3 regimen with mixed results, I went through a protracted PF period and was med free for the first time in years, then I moved cities and the experiment ended in a terrible cycle- back to verapamil. Having said this things are changing as they appear to as we get older, the last two cycles have been quite awful in comparison with more frequent, longer and more painful hits. This means that I have to do something different which brings me here. I have spent a few days browsing through the posts on this board and have absorbed quite a bit, certainly seen some things that hadn't crossed my radar before. I figure that the best way of approaching this by elimination, starting with the items that are likely easiest to get hold of and moving up from there. Which brings me to a question - I read the posts about licorice root extract with more than a passing interest. Something that surprised me is that the experiments ended so quickly, stopped almost in its tracks when Les stopped posting. The other observation is that very little success seems to have been reported by members who have tried this method, I could only count 7 members who had given positive feedback and I couldn't find any long term results. Is this because the idea ultimately didnt work as well as hoped or did folk just give up when Les left? I would appreciate your feedback before I head off on a wild goose chase.
