CHfather, No need to depart the fix. I've seen the error of my ways. You'll hear nothing more of my pleas to remain calm with a healthy perspective in this crisis. In keeping with this promise...
DUE TO PRESIDENT TRUMP’S GUIDANCE REGARDING SOCIAL DISTANCING, THE NAVY’S BLUE ANGEL FIGHT DEMONSTRATION TEAM HAS CANCELED ALL AIR SHOW PERFORMANCES DUE TO THE FACT THAT IN THE DIAMOND FORMATION, BLUE ANGEL PILOTS ARE LESS THAN 6 FEET APART.
AIR FORCE THUNDERBIRD AIR SHOWS WILL BE UNAFFECTED.
Take care, Your old Navy fighter pilot

Thanks! Ecstatic is more like it. I had five posts going out at the same time on this news item.

THIS IS HUGE!
This is fantastic news! I've passed it to Fox News and the White House portal.
If Fox runs a segment on this news, it might just get President Trump to tell the US and the World about vitamin C infusions as a here and now, inexpensive treatment for COVID-19 patients that doesn't require FDA approval or CDC consent. No need to wait, supplies are readily available!
The next step is getting President Trump to tell the public they can take vitamin C and vitamin D3 to help prevent COVID-19 coronavirus infection. This will be Awesome!
This is also the risk mitigation factor President Trump needs to end the lock-down sooner and get our great Nation back to work.

I started this thread with one of the goals preventing exactly what you’re experiencing. Angst over the unknown and information overload are always problematic. If you go back to my first post, I started providing information about what was happening and things to do like taking vitamin C and vitamin D3. Why? Because none of us knew what would happen next with the COVID-19 coronavirus and that taking these two vitamins had a high probability of preventing infection, gave us something known to offset the unknown. Knowledge. Confidence.
Then I tried to put what was happening into prospective. If I reported something disturbing, I backed it up by saying I wasn’t running around with my hair on fire. Perspective. For those of you who have never met me in person, I’ve a shiny pate, although I do cultivate under my nose what grows wild elsewhere. Humor. I related the fact that my wife and I have not had a single case of the flu and less than a handful of colds since starting the anti-inflammatory regimen with 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3 and cofactors in October of 2010. Confidence.
In another life, I’ve gone through NBC training and sat through highly classified briefings on the after effects of NBC warfare that made what little hair on my head stand up and were so disturbing it did require a shopping cart stacked with bales of TP. Perspective, Facts and Humor.
Regarding your quote of my words, I wouldn’t change a thing… That said, hind sight is always 20:20. I should have added, “take your vitamin C and vitamin D3, drink another beer…” Missed opportunity. Perspective. Reality. We’re all along for the ride during this pandemic as there’s little we can do to change the course of events, or the needless loss of lives, but we can try. Accordingly, I try not to get my tail in a knot or let my hair catch fire over something I can’t control, so I what I can do, then watch to see if things turn out like I expect.
There are things to do. Last week, I took a week’s supply of vitamin C, vitamin D3, a couple gallon jugs of orange juice and a big bag of 3 oz paper cups to the local Fire and Rescue station’s Fire Fighters and EMTs. I also provided a paper on how to mix the vitamin C with fruit juice and two pages of study result graphics illustrating the safety and efficacy of these two vitamins in preventing viral infections like colds and flu. I didn’t say it would prevent COVID-19 corona virus infections, but they got the point, smiled and said “this should work just fine” and thanked me. I’ll do it again in a week as it appears it will be Easter before the lock-down ends and the end of April before this pandemic runs its course and fizzles out.
Finally, regarding your comment “This ain't a COVID-19 website” Correctamundo! We’re inundated with pandemic news 7 X 24 daily. If my posts have increased the angst during this pandemic, then I’ve screwed the pooch. I'll come out of afterburner and throttle back.

Hey Rod, BOF,
What we have here is a classic no $hit conundrum. Damned if you do and damned if you don't.
I still say take the vitamin C and vitamin D3 as a hedge. At least we know they work to build a strong immune system and that helps prevent colds and flu.
The following might alleviate some of the angst until the President makes a decision when and how to end the shelter in place and restart the economy. When that happens, people can go nuclear or... sit back, have another beer and watch what happens.
Sorry if any find this offensive. Toilet humor is almost always therapeutic at times like this.

Understand... However, as there is no down-side safety issue in taking 3 grams/day vitamin C or 5000 IU/day vitamin D3, and there is more than sufficient up-side potential based on substantial evidence in their efficacy in preventing and treating colds and flu, there's much to gain an nothing to lose at a cost of 12 cents/day. Nothing is 100% effective or certain save for death and taxes. Moreover, as none of us gets out of here alive, at 75, my goal is to maintain the best quality of life possible. I take far more vitamin C and vitamin D3 than listed above.
Joyce and I have been taking the anti-inflammatory regimen since I developed it in October of 2010. Neither of us has had the flu since then and our incidence of colds is down to one every 3 to 4 years. We've also had school age grand kids and their friends running around the house dripping with cold and flu bugs several times a year so we don't live in a bubble.
Great question and you're OK! There's a very simple reason why the nostril on the hit side gets the gush and stuffy during a CH. The pain and neruogenic inflammation during an active CH hit triggers the eye on the hit side to water. This starts happening between Kip-5 and Kip-7 pain levels for most CHers and the flow increases as the pain goes up. The tearing caused by CH hits ≥ kip 5 drains down the nasolacrimal ducts at the inside corner of the eye next to the nose on the hit side. The saline tear fluid exits these ducts into the nasal cavity, as its name implies. That means tears from the eye start running out the nose. The lining of the nasal cavity on the hit side reacts by swelling and this gives us the stuffy feeling. So much for today's lesson on anatomy and pathophysiology of a CH.
There is a solution to this problem... For the CHers who know what I'm about to say... Wait for it...
I would start taking the anti-inflammatory regimen. You can download the posted version of this CH and MH preventative treatment protocol at the following vitaminDwiki.com link.
For reference, readers of my webpage at vitaminDwiki.com have downloaded 47,321 copies of this CH and MH preventative treatment protocol since 21 Jan, 2017. That's an average of 40 downloads a day. Word on the efficacy of this regimen is getting out.
Even if you're not ready to start this regimen or you're satisfied mm are controlling your CH effectively, taking 3 grams/day vitamin C and at least 5000 IU/day vitamin D3 can help build a strong immune system. MM can't do that.
Vitamin C supports your immune system. Vitamin C helps to kill viruses and reduces the symptoms of infection. It's not a COVID-19 "cure," but nothing is. It might just save your life, though, and will definitely reduce the severity of the infection. If someone tells you it's not proven, consider two things:
1. Nothing is proven to work against COVID-19, because it is a new virus
2. Vitamin C has worked against every single virus including influenzas, pneumonia, and even poliomyelitis.
See the following link for details.

You will get a better understanding of the dynamics associated with the COVID-19 pandemic if you read through the following link. It's lengthy but very informative.
Bottom line, the pandemic will be over by the end of April no matter what we do. Accordingly, we need to stop social distancing, send kids back to school and reopen the economy within a week to 10 days or the flattening the curve actions will result in irrecoverable damage to our economy. In short, the cure is worse than the infection.
Take care and please take at least 3 grams/day vitamin C and 5000 IU/day vitamin D3. Kids under 100 lbs body weight can take 50 IU vitamin D3 per pound of body weight per day. For a weely dose, its 350 IU vitamin D3 per pound of body weight per week.
These doses are well within the RDAs.

Spot on about getting plenty of good sleep. At 75, I need a good 7 hours sleep then back that up with a short nap after eating. There are some fascinating studies on sleep. One such study centered on the brain's lymphatic vascular system that was only discovered in 2015. This study suggested the brain's lymphatic vascular system (Glymphatic system or or glymphatic clearance pathway) provided another means of flushing the byproducts of metabolism from the brain during sleep and was likely responsible for the refreshed feeling we have after a night of quality sleep.
Sleep also helps our immune system get ready for the coming day. Our immune system is also the first line of defense against foreign antigens including virus.
Take care and please take vitamin C and vitamin D3. They help our immune system fight off viral infections like colds and flu.

My thoughts for the day...
3 grams/day vitamin C costs 9 cents/day. 50,000 IU/week vitamin D3 (7100 IU/day) costs 3 cents/day. Hmmm... Taking these two vitamins at a cost of 12 cents/day appears to be a far more healthy thing to do than watch my 401k disintegrate down to a 301k and likely lower as measures to "Flatten the Curve" continue to multiply. Moreover, my hair is still intact even after it appears the Big Pharma influence in the President's COVID-19 Task Force managed to convince the President to tell the public about Plaquenil (Hydroxychloroquine) as a potential treatment for COVID-19 infection yet still say nothing about vitamin C and vitamin D3 which do not require FDA approval for use.

I know and it's sad. We live near Bremerton, 21 miles West from the Nation's epicenter of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection in Kirkland Washington in the greater Seattle area with 909 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection and 48 deaths. The TP and paper towel shelves at Safeway, a mile from our home were bare as were shelves with the cleaning supplies and sanitizer sprays were bare by Saturday morning and all were still bare around 5 pm this afternoon. I went to Costco Saturday and watched a stock clerk roll a pallet of TP onto the shopping area on a pallet jack. The TP on that pallet was gone in less than 30 seconds.
People are frightened and panic buying is a clear indication. They need to know there is something else they can do to prevent infection with this virus besides the CDC litany of washing hands, coughing in a hanky, not touching face or mouth, self imposed quarantine and now mandated social distancing with closed bars and restaurants. That's as frightening as the fear of infection by this virus. Our every day routine has changed dramatically.
What the CDC and HHS are not telling us is we can strengthen our immune systems by taking vitamin C and vitamin D3. Unfortunately, the CDC and HHS are not advising President Trump or Vice President Pence about this either. They are not doing this for the simple reason that most of the leadership in these organization came through the revolving door from Big Pharma. It's no secret that Big Pharma does not want people to know how effective vitamin C and vitamin D3 can be in fighting viral infections. If peeople did know this and started taking vitamins and minerals to stay healthy, it would hurt the Big Pharma bottom line. HHS Secretary Alex Azar is a classic example. From 2007 through January 2017, Azar was a senior executive at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Indiana. He may be a good guy and doing a great job at HHS with years of experience in leading large organizations, but he, more than likely still carries a bias when it comes to policy decisions to favor or protect Big Pharma.
Viral infection outbreaks have been happening for thousands of years before there was any "modern" medicine with antivirals and vaccines. There are two things that stop a viral infection outbreak in nature now like they have for thousands of years prior to man-made pharmaceuticals (that don't work) and vaccines (that don't work either). Those two things are the innate immune system and the adaptive Immune system.
Cells of the innate immune system are our first line of defense against invading virus. As these cells fight the virus, cells of the adaptive immune system remember the virus and encode instructions on how to build the antibodies needed to defend against it into DNA. That way as these cells divide, they carry this genetic code for these antibodies on to their offspring to fight this specific virus more effectively the next time it comes around. In short, this individual is now immune to this specific virus.
Both parts of our immune system need vitamin C and vitamin D3 to function effectively.
If our innate immune system is strong and functioning properly, it will fight off a viral infection. One of the defense mechanisms is increasing body temperature above 101º F to kill virus.
Why am I saying all this and trying hard to help people gain greater awareness that vitamin C and vitamin D3 can help prevent COVID-19 infection? Simple. Remember the feeling you had when you discovered mm stopped or controlled your CH to the point you could live a normal life? Those of us taking vitamin D3 had that same Woo Hoo feeling. Imagine what it's going to be like when people realize vitamin C and vitamin D3 help prevent COVID-19 infection.
Tuesday, 03:30 16 March.
I watched a 3 minute segment of Fox Business News at 02:55 PDT with an American in Wuhan, China. He was upbeat saying the infection and death rate has dropped dramatically essentially saying people in Wuhan think the COVID-19 pandemic has run its course. That's Woo Hoo Good News! At 06:00 DOW futures were down 150 and heading South rapidly. 10 minutes later, the DOW was up 150. At 06:30 EDT the DOW was bouncing around at 200. As market analysts go over the infection rates and see this drop in Wuhan, I think the markets will continue to climb.
If you take the news from Wuhan, China at face value, it was roughly 3 months from COVID-19 outbreak to fizzle. That means it appears we could see the COVID-19 infection rate drop here in the US by the end of May. All for now.
Take care, take your vitamin C and vitamin D3 and hang in there. This too will pass.

Well… that was the week that was, as they used to say on Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In a comedy show that ran '67 – ’71.
The markets had the wildest week in history with the DOW taking a 2,000-point (10%) loss (largest loss in history) on Thursday and 1,984-point gain on Friday in response to President Trump’s declaration of a National Emergency. This declaration gave President Trump authorization for another $50 Billion in aid, direct purchase of COVID-19 coronavirus RT-PCR test kits and testing equipment from Swiss pharmaceutical firm Roche. The market futures are already down this morning with the DOW down by over 1000 points and I expect to see limit down halts during the day like on Thursday . The smart hedge fund traders are making a mint on swings like this. They are also the prime movers of market indexes.
If you haven’t noticed, with the exception of Dr. Anthony Fauci, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Seema Verma, Administrator, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and VADM Jerome M. Adams, M.D., M.P.H. Surgeon General , the rest of the talking heads from HHS are no longer on stage with Vice President Pence or President Trump during pressers. That includes CDC Director Robert R. Redfield, M.D. and Secretary HHS, Alex M. Azar II.
This is completely understandable as the law of unintended consequence went into effect with the CDC acquiring and shipping out COVID-19 coronavirus RT-PCR test kits and policy for their use has been a slow-motion train wreck in progress since the get-go in early February. That’s when 95 of the first 100 test kits shipped out by the CDC were found to be defective. Were I a betting person, I would look for a quiet shake-up in leadership at HHS and CDC when the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic dust settles. These people let down President Trump and all of us, big time. They also dropped the ball on residents at the Life Care Center of Kirkland.
As of 00:01 this morning the US death toll climbed to 69 and of the 37 deaths reported in King County, (greater Seattle, WA) 29 are associated with Life Care Center of Kirkland. The COVID-19 coronavirus incubator. If you haven’t done the math, more than half the US deaths were from the greater Seattle area 21 miles due East of me.
The US total COVID-19 coronavirus cases jumped by 737 on the 15th bringing the total of cases to 3,782. Expect the reported number of COVID-19 coronavirus case to jump even further this week as more drive-thru COVID-19 coronavirus testing locations open up. I'm afraid this "good idea" will fall victim to the law of unintended consequence due to the logistics involved. Test results will find their way back to the individuals going through the drive-thru locations but not back to their doctor or into their medical records so additional tests will be needed. I'm of the opinion, people experiencing a fever, dry cough and trouble breathing need to call their doctor. Doctors will cut a script and send it to the collection location at Quest Diagnostic or LabCorp nearest you. They know how to track these tests properly and relay results back to their doctors where they need to be.
I’m also of the opinion the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic data coming from Switzerland is the most accurate. The Swiss have no shortage of COVID-19 coronavirus RT-PCR test equipment, they have an excellent national healthcare system with some of the finest hospitals in the world staffed with excellent doctors and scientists. I’ve traveled to Switzerland on three separate occasions 2009 – 2010 to attend meetings with cluster headache experts, so know this first hand. Switzerland closed its border with Italy last month and has also restricted immigration more than any other country in Europe with the exception of Liechtenstein which neighbors Switzerland and Austria. It is Europe's fourth-smallest country located in the Alps with an area of just over 160 square kilometres (62 square miles) and a population of 38,557 according to Wikipedia. The national industry and largest employer in Liechtenstein is banking. Switzerland has 2,217 reported cases of COVID-19 coronavirus infection and 14 deaths for a death rate of 0.63%
Keeping all this in perspective is important. For example, so far this year, there have been 81 people shot and killed in Chicago and 352 shot and wounded, but the fake news media has said nothing about this.
We are still at war with the COVID-19 coronavirus and I suspect it will take months until we take the high ground with ongoing efforts to reduce transmission to the point the rate of new cases and deaths due to the COVID-19 coronavirus start dropping.
I am still concerned the CDC hasn’t given the public available information on the capacity of vitamin C and vitamin D3 to reduce viral infections like colds and flu. In the history of the FDAs Adverse Events Reporting System (FAERS) that’s been running since 1991, there has yet to be a death attributed to either vitamin. We can’t say that for aspirin, Humira (adalimumab) or the Statins.
That said, there were two bright spots last week in this area. Dr Oz came on Fox saying we should take vitamin C 250 mg/day and 1500 IU of vitamin D3 a day to help prepare our immune systems for the COVID-19 coronavirus. He said this sotu vocce and the doses are a bit low, but he did let the cat out of the bag on the need for vitamin D and vitamin D3. Another MD also came on Fox saying the same thing.
In addition, there were two articles on higher doses of these two vitamins to prevent viral infections and in treating acute respiratory infections and pneumonia with them. The following from Dr. Brownstein, MD and Dr. Ron Hunninghake, MD at the Riordan Clinic are excellent advice and important need to know information to prepare for possible COVID-19 coronavirus infection and if this bug does hit. Most doctors and ICU staffs are not familiar with the Vitamin C IVC protocol for pneumonia, the leading cause of death from the COVID-19 Coronavirus and Sepsis from the cytokine storm caused by this virus. Accordingly, God forbid you do get this bug and have lung issues, should this happen, demand this Vitamin C IVC protocol and don't take "No" for an answer. You can find the vitamin C (IVC) protocol at the following link:
Coronavirus IX: What to Avoid–Ibuprofen–And What to Take
March 14, 2020
Our misery continues! Today, I went to buy my mother toilet paper at 6am and the local grocery store shelves were emptied. Do not fear, as I found it later at a different store. Later today, mom tasked me with finding eggs. That took two different stores as well before I found them! But, this is a time NOT to panic. It is a time to pull together and support each other. Many are recovering uneventfully–we just don’t hear about it. I have seen numerous patients over the past month that may have had it. I couldn’t test them because of a lack of kits, but they all recovered. Of course some are very sick and dying. Overall, I believe we will come through this with a death rate similar or slightly higher than the rate for the common flu. But, we will never know the true numbers because of a lack of test kits. I do not think this crisis will persist into the summer months. As we begin to test more patients, we will see the mortality rate decline. Of course, those are only my predictions, as we know that viruses can mutate. This virus is very contagious but it is a flu-like illness for most who get it. That must be kept in mind. And, eating a healthy diet and maintaining optimal hydration can help dramatically. More about that later.
We are in this mess due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). If the CDC had done their job, COVID-19 would be contained and manageable. The Powers-That-Be at the CDC failed miserably compared to other countries. My recent blog post “Coronavirus VIII: Why Does S. Korea Have Lower Death Rate Compared to US?” was about the success in S. Korea at fighting COVID-19. Taiwan is another example for the US CDC to learn from. As of March 13, Taiwan has 50 COVID-19 cases and 1 death. (1) Keep in mind that Taiwan is 81 miles from mainland China and has 24 million citizens. A March 3, 2020 JAMA article detailed the rapid and complete response the Taiwanese health authorities implemented at the beginning of this crisis.
December 31, 2019 was the day Chinese officials notified the WHO that Chinese citizens were suffering unusually severe cases of pneumonia. That same day Taiwan began monitoring all passengers who arrived from Wuhan. A few days later, they started monitoring all people who had travelled to Wuhan since December 20. They increased their surveillance and testing and the rest is history; 50 cases and 1 death as of March 13, 2020.
I have discussed what our CDC did in previous blog posts. They refused test kits from the WHO, developed their own faulty kits and refused private labs from testing sick individuals. The postmortem on this story will be ugly for the CDC. We are in a mess now with COVID-19 spreading across the country.
But, all is not lost. As I have detailed in other posts, there are many things you can do to improve your immune system and help you avoid COVID-19 problems:
– Eat a healthy diet FREE OF REFINED SUGAR! It should also be free of all refined food sources including salt, flour, and oils. Remember, refined sugar paralyzes the ability of white blood cells to perform their duties for hours.
– Make sure you always STAY WELL HYDRATED with clean water. Take your weight in pounds, divide the number by 2 and the resultant number is the minimum amount of water in ounces to drink per day.
– NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS can help to improve the immune system’s ability to fight off an infection and to help it kill an active infection. I have over 25 years of practicing holistic medicine to back that statement up. I have seen it work. My partners have seen it work. My patients have seen it work. We have used this approach successfully for many viral infections. I have no doubt it will work for COVID-19 as well.
In my blog post “Coronavirus Part Vl: Why COVID-19 Is More Deadly to the Chinese” (3) I told you why COVID-19 was more deadly to younger Chinese males. Most Chinese men smoke cigarettes. Smoking increases ACE2 receptors in the lungs where COVID-19 has been shown to bind to. Similarly, ibuprofen has been shown to increase ACE 2 expression. (4) Ibuprofen should be avoided as it may enhance the infectious capabilities of COVID-19. Ibuprofen also causes problems for the kidneys and the GI tract. It is best to let the body utilize its innate abilities to fight an infection. One of the body’s main ways to do this is by mounting a fever. The increased body temperature is a way to mobilize the immune system into action as well as to enhance the killing effect of a foreign invader. Fevers can often be managed by tepid baths, lots of hydration and rest. It is important to maintain electrolyte balance with any infection but particularly when there is fever involved. Supplementing with unrefined salt is crucial here. It can be added to each glass of water. Again, it is best to work with a knowledgeable health care provider before doing any of the suggestions I have written about.
Acetaminophen should also be avoided for fevers. It depletes a crucial antioxidant–glutathione. In fact, acetaminophen should be severely limited for any condition. It has a poor safety profile.
Dr. B’s antiviral protocol for his patients during acute illness or exposure to someone ill:
Vitamin A (NOT beta carotene)
– Adults: 100,000 IU/day for four days for adults (not pregnant or breast-feeding women)
– Children 25-50 pounds: 20,000 IU/day for four days
– Children 50-100 pounds: 50,000 IU/day for four days
– Adults: —50,000 IU/day for four days
– Children 25-50 pounds: 10,000 IU/day
– Children: 50-100 pounds: 25,000 IU/day
(Note: Both Vitamin A and D are fat-soluble vitamins. They can build up in the body. These doses are NOT meant to be taken for longer than four days at time. If you need to repeat the doses, seek advice from your physician.)
Vitamin C: 5-10,000 mg/day. If you can take more, do it. If you get loose stools, lower it.
Iodine: 25-100 mg/day and more if ill. Kids can take lower doses.
-Children: A useful number is to use 0.08mg/pound.
Don’t forget intravenous nutrient therapies are essential for helping the immune system in a time of crises. A holistic doctor skilled in nutrient IV therapy can help guide you. I have found IV hydrogen peroxide, ozone, and vitamin C wonderful treatments for my patients. We would have a lot less death and misery from COVID-19 if these life-saving therapies were taught in medical schools and utilized in hospitals.
This crises will pass. When it does, we need new leadership at CDC, FDA, and HHS. They have all failed us. You don’t have to wait for the Government to come to your rescue. You can take matters into your own hands. Find a holistic doctor who can help you achieve your optimal health. We are ready at the Center for Holistic Medicine to begin the journey with you.

I realize this is a lot to read. That said, if you’re home with the kids or just home as there’s no place to go that’s open, there is some good information here.
There are two videos you need to watch. The first is "Battlefield Cell" by Curiosity and a second presentation by Dr. Linus Pauling titled "Preventing Illnesses and Diseases with Vitamin C." at the following two links. Linus Pauling won two individual Nobel Prizes in Chemistry and Peace. He helped stop above ground nuclear bomb testing. If you have kids, have them watch these videos with you then discuss them.
All for now. More to follow as new information is breaking fast.

I strongly support the use of mm and the other things discussed at this site. I've seen them work effectively up close and personal, busting CH cycles when even vitamin D3 wasn't effective. I just don't have any expertise in this area so leave that to the experts here. I also spent a year helping Dr. John Halpern, MD, get the BOL used in his study into a "Fast Track" approval process at the FDA.
As a 75-year-old retired Navy fighter pilot, the disciplines needed to fly fighters at 1,000 miles an hour, fight bad guys in high-G combat maneuvering and land on an aircraft carrier day and night demanded a complete avoidance of any substance that altered my neurological functions including memory and split-second reflex response. Those disciplines are still with me today. Accordingly, I rely on vitamin D3 and its cofactors to control and prevent CH and migraines as this combination carries no mind altering baggage. Moreover, in the 9 years I've been a member here at Clusterbusters, I've seen many cases where a combination of mm and vitamin D3 had a synergistic effect of busting cycles much faster than mm or vitamin D3 could do by themselves.
Vitamin D3 stimulates the synthesis of melatonin naturally.

Good comments. My experience with CH that dates back to 1994 with my first bout with CH and I've been chronic since 2005. What I've found is the severity of this disorder is compounded by vitamin D3 and magnesium deficiencies and there's a clear inverse relationship between CH frequency and serum 25(OH)D3, the serum level metabolite of vitamin D3 that's measured by lab tests.
Well over 2500 CHers are now taking the anti-inflammatory regimen with 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3 and cofactors to prevent their CH. The updated version of the supplements called for in this regimen are illustrated in the following photo of what my wife and I have taken daily since October of 2010. I suggest these supplements to CHers all over the world. If you add 3 grams/day vitamin C, t.i.d. (one gram 3 times a day), you'll have an effective preventative for colds and flu... and I'm confident the COVID-19 novel coronavirus as well. The last two graphics apply.
On a related note, my niece has asthma and has been taking this regimen daily for the last 9 years through two pregnancies and breastfeeding. Results: two flawless pregnancies, deliveries and two exceptionally healthy babies with T-Rex immune systems. She's taken one of the Bio-Tech D3-50 50,000 IU capsules of water soluble vitamin D3 every 3 to 4 days for the last four years since she stopped all Rx meds for asthma, to keep her asthma in remission and that has proven to be very effective.
Take care and please keep us posted.

Great question. As far as vitamin C goes, kids eating solid food can take the vitamin C gummies. They're great so give them 3 gummies a day with meals. The bulk vitamin C powder is the least expensive at 3 cents/gram and easy to dose with a quarter to half teaspoon in a glass of orange or pineapple juice three times a day. There's no toxicity to vitamin C. There is however, bowel tolerance where too much vitamin C, usually in pill form will cause osmotic diarrhea, but we're talking over15 grams/day before that's a problem. If it does happens, just cut back on the dose.
Vitamin D3 is also non-toxic at the doses we take for CH that can go as high as 40,000 IU/day. The suggested dosing for kids is 50 IU vitamin D3 per pound of body weight per day. That means a 20 lb infant can take 1000 IU/day or 7,000 IU once a week. Both dosing schedules are equally effective. For kids weighing 100 lbs or more, there's nothing wrong with the adult dose of 5000 to 10,000 IU/day as long as they also take a multi-vitamin and multi-mineral tablet a day. I like the Kirkland brand Adult 50+ Mature Multi as it contains nearly all the essential cofactors needed to metabolize vitamin D3.
I've had all my grand kids on this vitamin D3 dosing schedule. The last three were bathed in maternal vitamin D3 from conception through breast feeding as their mothers were taking the same anti-inflammatory regimen I suggest to CHers with 10,000 IU/day vitamin D3. After breast feeding they all got vitamin D3 at a dose of 50 IU/lb of body weight/day.
These kids are super healthy with T-Rex immune systems. They don't get sick. They have a remarkable rate of growth and neuromotor development. They're also all budding Einsteins in intellect. My granddaughter Fred, a.k.a., Winefred was speaking fluent Hochdeutsch at age two and attended pre-kindergarten in Heidleberg, Germany at age 4 where no English was spoken.
I just completed my analysis of available information on the COVID-19 coronavirus and the bottom line is simple. As long as we're otherwise healthy, taking 3 grams/day vitamin C and at least 5000 IU/day vitamin D3, there's no reason why we cant go about routine daily activities as usual. The risk of infection from the COVID-19 coronavirus for us in this case will be very low and should it infect, the symptoms will be mild. I'll detail my thinking later this morning.

The markets around the world are in full panic mode. US Markets were limit down yesterday (stopped trading for 15 minutes if the S&P goes down by 7%) and are already 6.5% down this morning at the opening bell. (That just happened at 06:36 PDT, 6 minutes after the markets opened. )
There are a couple interesting news items breaking that the lame stream media won't cover. The first centers on Italy where epidemiologists have found Italy Is second country with coronavirus outbreak preceded by a tuberculosis epidemic. China was the first...
There are a couple implications here. In Italy, most of the deaths have occurred around areas heavily populated by a recent influx of immigrants. They've been testing with the RT-PCR COVID-19 test probes, but not for tuberculosis so it's unclear if these deaths were due to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus or TB. In either case, the pneumonia caused by the coronavirus and TB are both treated with vitamin D3 and Vitamin C IV infusions. That means it isn't as bad as it appears here in the US. As of 14:40 yesterday PDT, 23 of the 30 deaths in Washington state and of the 38 deaths in the US, occurred among residents of the Life Care Center nursing home in Kirkland, WA. That also means as the infection rate goes up, the death rate will not go up nearly as fast.
Again, South Korea is the best indication of the death rate at 0.8% for the last three days as they have no shortage of the RT-PCR test kit probes for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus so their infection numbers are likely much closer to the actual.
The other good news is Dr. Oz was on Fox news Wednesday and let the cat out of the bag by saying taking vitamin C and vitamin C3 can help prevent and also treat a COVID-19 novel coronavirus infection. He said it sotto voce and the dose was too low by our standards... but he said it on TV!
Dr. Brownstein has an excellent article on being ready for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus that sounds very similar to what I've been saying. You decide.
All for now. And yes, my hair is doing just fine and the Dow is down 2,000 points and oil is at $30/bbl.

Thank you for your service. The Redneck Reservoir bags work like a champ with aborts running around 7 minutes with the procedure outlined in my previous post. I made the one shown in the photo while salmon fishing in Pelican, AK, a fish camp with population 76 in the winter so there are no medical oxygen suppliers. Fortunately, there are lots of welders and plenty of welding oxygen. I made up two such Redneck Reservoir bags last June when an allergic reaction to mold spores kicked me out of a CH remission that had been running for over a year CH pain free. I filled these bags by sticking the tip of a cutting torch in the plastic bottle and turned on only the oxygen. It took 4 days loading vitamin D3 at 50,000 IU/day plus Benadryl at 25 mg every four hours throughout the day to stop the CH beast from jumping ugly.
Even with the CH hist coming at night, they did not stop me from salmon fishing during the day...

Greetings from 21 miles due West of the Nations COVID-19 infection epicenter in Kirkland, WA where 20 of Washington State's 23 deaths and 31 of US deaths due to this virus have occurred. These 20 deaths were directly linked to the Life Care Center managed care nursing home in Kirkland, WA. Even the local TV stations are pointing out the CDC, State and local public health officials dropped the ball on residents at this managed care facility by failing to take prudent actions.
The first US death attributed to the COVID-19 novel coronavirus occurred to a resident of this facility on 29 Feb and that person had been hospitalized at least 10 days earlier, yet no actions were taken by public health officials at this facility. Help didn't arrive until last Saturday when a CDC team of 30 MDs, PAs, RNs and epidemiologists went into this facility. By then half the Life Care Center's staff were absent in home quarantine with COVID-19 symptoms. This wasn't the staff's fault.
In other news, crude oil prices continue to tank at ~ $33/bbl. and this has the markets continued tanking by > 900 points this morning. As it costs ~ $37/bbl to produce, the supply of crude oil will start to drop as producers cut back on production. This will last until the price/bbl goes up. It's likely a good idea to watch gas prices at the pump and take prudent actions.
The world's COVID-19 novel coronavirus tally as of this morning follows:
Well, my hair is still intact over all this as I keep things in perspective. The sun will still rise and for our friends down under in Australia, I'm told the rains have started. The H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic in 2009 started in early March and by November, the CDC reported an estimated 22 million Americans had been infected with 2009 A H1N1 and 4,000 Americans died. We're nowhere near these numbers as yet and there wasn't so much as a ripple in the markets or news at that time, yet the lame stream media is running around today like chicken little - the sky is falling. Could it be the news media is hyping this problem out of proportions? I think so. If this is the case, why are they doing this? You decide. Perspective...
Regarding vitamin C and vitamin D3. For people who don't understand the influence of Big Pharma on vitamin C and vitamin D3, they have been obfuscating and down playing reports of efficacy in taking vitamin C and vitamin D3 since the '60s They've done this as any increase in people taking these vitamins will hit their bread and butter bottom line mega buck profits in statins, heart medications and cancer treatments big time.
My logic on taking these two vitamins and their capacity to boost immune functions in advance of any infection by the COVID-19 novel coronavirus simple. There are ample studies attesting to the efficacy of these vitamins in preventing colds and seasonal flu. As our immune systems are the only thing that stops a viral infection, we need to keep our immune systems as healthy as possible, vitamin D3 and vitamin C do just that.
The majority of studies on these two vitamins were observational and not the gold standard randomized, placebo controlled and blinded RCTs. This is what Big Pharma and their medical evidence mafia quickly point out. What few RCTs of these vitamins that have been conducted were poorly designed with doses too low to do any good so were "Inconclusive." Big Pharma jumps on these studies and supports many articles heralding the inconclusive results.
I say look at the prevailing data. 50 Tons of vitamin D3 shipped to Wuhan the second week in February. Hmmm... what do doctors there know that the CDC is not telling us? 3 gold standard RCTs have likely started in China using IV vitamin C infusions (IVC) to treat COVID-19 coronavirus induced pneumonia. Officials in Shanghai are now recommending IVC for all cases of COVID-19 coronavirus induced pneumonia. What do they know that the CDC is not telling us? We still have several studies using vitamin C to prevent colds and flu, they're just not gold standard RCTs.
I ordered a Kg of powdered vitamin C from amazon.com for my sister, her two kids, their families that include five grand kids last week. The screen grab for that order follows:
I checked the price of the same bulk vitamin C powder this morning...
Hmmm... a 15% increase in price for this item at amazon.com in one week is a clear indication of supply and demand. People are buying lots of vitamin C. I checked with the supplier of this item. They've filled orders for over 74,000 of their 1 Kg vitamin C powder this year and most of that has been in the last 45 days. What do all these people know about vitamin C that the CDC is not telling us?
Back to the basics on vitamin C. Even if you doubt its effectiveness, it is still very safe even at very high doses upwards of 18 grams/day. The only downside is called bowel tolerance... you get the squirts if you take too much, but that's all. Moreover, in the history of the FDAs Adverse Events Reporting System (FARES) that's been running since 1991, there has yet to be a single death attributed to either vitamin C or vitamin D3. You can't say that for aspirin, the statins, or the mAbs (Monoclonal Antibodies) like Humera, Big Pharma's megabuck best seller.
Accordingly the way I see it, there's no down-side to taking at least 3 grams/day of vitamin C or 5,000 IU/day of vitamin D3 and a very real up-side potential they will help prevent a COVID-19 novel coronavirus infection and if you do get infected, it's likely these two vitamins will help minimize the severity of this infection. Doctors in Wuhan and the rest of China are now using IVC to treat the pneumonia caused by the COVID-19 novel coronavirus and I strongly suspect doctors in South Korea are doing the same. Their death rate to this virus is 0.78% and there are no shortages of RT-PCR test kits for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus.
So there is today's missive. Keep things in perspective and take care.
I'm a 75-year-old retired Navy fighter pilot and I'm on Tricare for Life as well. I've never had any problems getting M-Size oxygen cylinders or a few of the smaller E-size cylinders with a CGA-870 regulator. Ask for a CGA-870 regulator with selectable flow rates up to 25 liters/minute. If they tell you they don't have any with flow rates that high, buy one as suggested.
Better yet, make yourself a DIY Redneck Oxygen Reservoir system out of a clean empty plastic Coke or Gatorade bottle (with cap) and bottom cut off, a clean kitchen trash bag, tubing from a disposable oxygen mask, some electrician's tape and some Duck Tape. The following diagram should help.
When you're done building this Rube Goldberg contraption it should look like the following Redneck reservoir bag without the oxygen tubing.
If you've done a good job with the tape so the seals are all gas-tight so it holds oxygen overnight without deflating, and you use the right breathing procedures, one of these Redneck oxygen reservoir systems is good for three aborts. These contraptions have zero inhalation resistance making them easier to inhale from than an oxygen demand valve.
The procedure is simple. You hyperventilate with room air at forced vital capacity tidal volumes for 30 seconds then remove the cap from the Coke bottle and inhale a lungful of oxygen from the Redneck reservoir bag and replace the cap. Hold the lungful of oxygen for 30 seconds then keep repeating the complete sequence until the CH pain is gone. This usually takes an average of seven complete cycles (7 minutes). Forced vital capacity means exhale forcibly until it feels like the lungs are empty - they're not - without delay, do an abdominal crunch like doing sit-ups and hold the squeeze on every exhalation for a second. On the final exhalation hold the squeeze for three seconds. This will squeeze out a half to full liter of exhaled breath highest in CO2 content. Blowing off CO2 like this is an important part of aborting CH.
If you're doing this procedure and breathing technique properly, you should start feeling a slight tingling or prickling sensation in the lower legs and feet, hands, face and lips after the 3rd to 4th cycle with room air. You may even sense a chill across the lower back above the belt line. These sensations are called parasthesia, an indication you've pushed you system into respiratory alkalosis, a temporary condition where the blood CO2 content is below normal. These sensations are caused by capillaries and microvasculature in the skin constricting. This is what we want to happen in the trigeminovascular system as it speeds up the abort. If you watched the movie The Andromeda Strain, respiratory alkalosis is what saved the baby. This is an important mechanism that also aborts CH.
A low blood CO2 content means the blood is more alkaline with a higher pH than normal. This is also an important CH abort mechanism as the elevated pH triggers blood hemoglobin to have a greater affinity for oxygen and off load CO2 faster as blood passes through the lungs. The result is a super-oxygenated flow of blood to the brain and this is also an important part of the CH abort mechanism.
This method of oxygen therapy as a CH abortive is just as effective as using an oxygen demand valve. I hold a patent (now expired) on the demand valve method of therapy in aborting CH. The big difference is in the amount of oxygen consumed. Hyperventilating with an oxygen demand valve until the abort will consume 250 to 300 liters of oxygen. Using the above procedure consumes ~ 25 to 30 liters of oxygen/abort.
A redneck reservoir bag is a lot easier to haul around in the back seat of your car than an E-Size medical oxygen cylinder.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEOrthomolecular Medicine News Service, Jan 26, 2020
(OMNS January 26, 2020) The coronavirus pandemic can be dramatically slowed, or stopped, with the immediate widespread use of high doses of vitamin C. Physicians have demonstrated the powerful antiviral action of vitamin C for decades. There has been a lack of media coverage of this effective and successful approach against viruses in general, and coronavirus in particular.
It is very important to maximize the body's anti-oxidative capacity and natural immunity to prevent and minimize symptoms when a virus attacks the human body. The host environment is crucial. Preventing is obviously easier than treating severe illness. But treat serious illness seriously. Do not hesitate to seek medical attention. It is not an either-or choice. Vitamin C can be used right along with medicines when they are indicated.
"I have not seen any flu yet that was not cured or markedly ameliorated by massive doses of vitamin C."
(Robert F. Cathcart, MD)
The physicians of the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service and the International Society for Orthomolecular Medicine urge a nutrient-based method to prevent or minimize symptoms for future viral infection. The following inexpensive supplemental levels are recommended for adults; for children reduce these in proportion to body weight:
Vitamin C: 3,000 milligrams (or more) daily, in divided doses.
Vitamin D3: 2,000 International Units daily. (Start with 5,000 IU/day for two weeks, then reduce to 2,000)
Magnesium: 400 mg daily (in citrate, malate, chelate, or chloride form)
Zinc: 20 mg daily
Selenium: 100 mcg (micrograms) daily
Vitamin C , Vitamin D , magnesium , zinc , and selenium have been shown to strengthen the immune system against viruses.
The basis for using high doses of vitamin C to prevent and combat virus-caused illness may be traced back to vitamin C's early success against polio, first reported in the late 1940s. Many people are unaware, even surprised, to learn this. Further clinical evidence built up over the decades, leading to an anti-virus protocol published in 1980.
It is important to remember that preventing and treating respiratory infections with large amounts of vitamin C is well established. Those who believe that vitamin C generally has merit, but massive doses are ineffective or somehow harmful, will do well to read the original papers for themselves. To dismiss the work of these doctors simply because they had success so long ago sidesteps a more important question: Why has the benefit of their clinical experience not been presented to the public by responsible governmental authorities, especially in the face of a viral pandemic?
BOF - Political view removed.
Igdc, You're correct, there haven't been any RCTs on the COVID-19 novel coronavirus treated or prevented with vitamin C and vitamin D3. It wasn't officially defined and named until 10 Jan 2020. That said, there have been studies of the effects of vitamin C and vitamin D3 on colds and the seasonal flu and they are effective. The study below had 1,556 participants.
There is a wealth on information on this topic in the following links.
The last link to Youtube, comes from an American doctor in China who has been treating patients with COVID-19 pneumonia with IV Vitamin C. I wonder if the ICUs and ERs in our local hospitals are aware of this treatment protocol.
There are at least three gold standard RCTs using vitamin C to treat COVID-19 coronavirus pneumonia either about to start of already in progress. Pneumonia is the leading cause of death among people infected with this virus. And if you didn't catch it in the earlier post, Doctors in Wuhan, China took delivery of 50 Tons of vitamin C a couple weeks ago. You might ask what do they know that the CDC doesn't? At least Dr. Oz says take vitamin C and vitamin D3 to prevent or better prepare the immune system for the COVID-19 novel coronavirus.
Finally, there's growing evidence from virologists who have been sequencing the COVID-19 nCoV genome that there are at least two genome sequences. A few virologists suspect this virus is mutating.
The bottom line for the above email should be clear. We can do much more to prevent infections with the COVID-19 novel coronavirus than what the CDC is telling us. We can take 3 grams/day vitamin C and at least 5000 IU/day vitamin D3.
The other really great news occurred yesterday on Fox news in a segment featuring Dr. Oz. During this segment Dr. Oz said to take vitamin C and vitamin D3 to help prevent infection. HELLO... I've been waiting weeks to hear a doctor say this on TV. Dr. Oz went on to say if you do come down with the COVID-19 novel coronavirus, take 80 mg/day zinc, 250 mg/day vitamin C and 1500 IU vitamin D3 and Elderberry juice or syrup. The vitamin C and Vitamin D3 doses are too low by my way of thinking, but at least we had a doctor on TV say we needed to take them. That is very good!
Take care... and take your vitamins,
