Professor_Tanaka
The CAS number for BOL-148 is 478-84-2. 2-bromolysergic acid diethylamide C20H24BrN3O The CAS number that THC Pharm Gmbh has on their page is 69580-06-9. BOL-148 hydrochloride 2-Bromo-D-lysergic acid diethylamide hydrochloride C20H25BrClN3O Any thoughts on the difference? Why the salt? When putting an order out to synthesize this would one go for the straight BOL-148 or what THC Pharm synthesized with the salt?
Bonkers
Can't see why it would matter. A more stable compound maybe?
Bonkers
I think your 1st CAS# is for the 1st, much older formula, maybe back to Hofmann and maybe the new one is for THC Pharm Gmbh salt. And maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.
Professor_Tanaka
What I learned so far... LSD is a bit on the unstable side. The salt adds to the stability of the molecule.
MrTom
BOL is an amide which means it contains a nitrogen atom. In BOL the nitrogen atom has formed three bonds (one to a C=O and two to CH2CH3 ethyl groups). BOL can be mixed with an acid, probably tartaric acid which means the nitrogen atom picks up a H+ ion. This means the BOL molecule becomes positively charged. This increases the water solubility of BOL and probably increases the bioavailablity. HOWEVER the salt of BOL will contain less BOL per unit mass than pure BOL as the molecular weight of a BOL salt is greater
