FunGuy
Not to alarm anyone but this article is a bit frightening.  Many clusterheads consume a lot of painkillers, I've taken more than my share over the years. :-( http://www.webmd.com/pain-management/news/20111220/deaths-drug-poisoning-in-us-jump-sixfold It showed that 40 Americans die from prescription painkiller abuse every day.  YIKES!! Cocaine was involved in about 5,100 deaths and heroin was involved in about 3,000 deaths in 2008. 5100/365 = 13 per day 3000/365 = 8 per day Am I reading this correctly??   Good grief. 40 per day from prescription painkillers. Wow. Let be careful. FG Doug
Guest
alot of that is from florida with the pain management centers. people go there, hit up a center get a script, go to the next and get more and so on. florida doesnt keep a record of their pain management centers, so patients can keep getting the hardcore pain killers. with the new series' on nat geo about all the drugs out there .... http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/player/national-geographic-channel/shows/drugs-inc/ngc-florida-pill-mills.html 2-3 nhl tough guy hockey players died this year from reactions to oxycodone and alcohol. watching tv last i seen a lawsuit commercial for tylenol/acetaminophen AO
alleyoop
One thing that would skew those stats - I would think that abuse of prescription pain killers would be far more rampant than abuse of cocaine and heroin together.
