  1. It's interesting stuff. Two things though: 1)Regarding the fmri study, intriguing as it is, I would be wary of trusting it too much. fMRI is very noisy and though appropriate statistical measures were taken, it seems, there is still some chance that the effect might be due to noise and random chance. 2) Regarding the SAD study, it is also an interesting study but the group sizes are small and it is not placebo-controlled (really hard to do with ligh therapy studies:) so it might be a placebo effect which is observed. Having said that, it IS a drastic decrease in depression scores and it definitely deserves more attention. Cool stuff!
  2. This is a tad on the lighter side, I know, but as I've gained most of my daily calorie intake from swallowing books from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series, I stumbled on this passage from the third book "A Storm of Swords" and I couldn't help but think I've felt something along these lines. Well, the headache part - not ransoming or butchering members of the Stark family:) "He was sober now, though. Well, heÂ’d had two horns of ale when he broke his fast, and a small cup of red when he set out, but that was just to keep his head from pounding. Merrett could feel the headache building behind his eyes, and he knew that if he gave it half a chance he would soon feel as if he had a thunderstorm raging between his ears. Sometimes his headaches got so bad that it even hurt too much to weep. Then all he could do was rest on his bed in a dark room with a damp cloth over his eyes, and curse his luck and the nameless outlaw who had done this to him. Just thinking about it made him anxious. He could no wise afford a headache now. If I bring Petyr back home safely, all my luck will change. He had the gold, all he needed to do was climb to the top of Oldstones, meet the bloody outlaws in the ruined castle, and make the exchange. A simple ransom. Even he could not muck it up... unless he got a headache, one so bad that it left him unable to ride. He was supposed to be at the ruins by sunset, not weeping in a huddle at the side of the road. Merrett rubbed two fingers against his temple." Has anyone else here read the book and been thinking CH or migraine? And does anyone know whether the author in some way has had CH or migraine close?
  3. Regarding alcohol, I think my current cycle kinda jump started when I drank at the family xmas party. I had two baby clusters on the 21st and 22nd. I busted on the 21st (I think). Then no hits and was feeling great. Busted on the 26th again. Feeling great. Got some schnapps and beer in my estomago on the 28th and from that night the beast started several nightly visits plus a 1 or 2 during daytime. I dunnno. I thought I was out of cycle due to busting and I wasnt, and I believe that the wobbly pops and liquor "triggered" a latent bout. How I crave a cold one.
  4. Bonkers, I'm sorry to say that the guy who wrote it, Fred Sheftell, passed away some time ago. But you're right--seems like a fitting theme song.
  5. Has anyone tried upping their magnesium intake in relation to clusterheadache? Merry Christmas PS. Been busting preventively with MG seeds. So far so good.
