  1. One other idea, maybe

Are you using a new mask?  (hopefully a non-rebreather)

I've had a similar raw-type feeling after using a new mask, might be the plastic/rubber smell??

If so, take the mask assembly apart fully and try washing everything in warm soap water and rinse well.  Dry thoroughly, as you don't want junk growing inside the bag later.

  2. Greetings all.

If you are coming to Portland for the ClusterBuster conference please bring your regulator and mask with you if possible.

Both E and M-tanks will be available, but we will likely be short on e-tank regulators.

Even if you are out of cycle, consider bringing your regulator and a spare mask if you have one.

    Thanks.

  3. I'm assuming you mean symptoms, diagnostic differences and presentation.

    TN info sites:

    http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/trigeminal-neuralgia/DS00446

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trigeminal_neuralgia

While many symptoms are similar, the typical location of pain origin differs.  TN pain is often brought on by many or any facial movements and lacks the usual cyclical pattern of CH.

Individual attacks of TN are usually short, but can occur in groups that last for hours.

  5. Hi again all.

If you are planning on coming to the Clusterbuster conference and have any special needs, please send them to:  cbportland2010@hotmail.com

I'm talking about food allergies, vegans, etc.

LOL, don't even start on the other stuff you were thinking.

  6. Things are coming along nicely for the Clusterbusters Conference this August 20-22, 2010 in Portland Oregon.  The link to the conference page with registration information and hotel details ($79 a night) is here:

    http://www.clusterbusters.com/convention5.htm'>http://www.clusterbusters.com/convention5.htm

Scroll down the page to the list of current speakers.

Note: Dr. Torsten Passie will be discussing BOL in the treatment of cluster headache via live video link from Germany, Dr. Halpern from Harvard/McLean will be in Portland to provide more information and updates also.

Some great speakers so far and we are working on a few more!!

If you've not been the the updated Buster web site, this is the link:

    http://www.clusterbusters.com/

  7. OK, this is getting really weird.

I just checked it with both IE and firefox and it's working for me.

This is the button at the bottom of the main board page.  Right?

I think there is only one button, as far as I know.

Maybe try clearing your history and such?

Can someone else try this and check it out for me??

    Thanks

  8. If you have used psilocybin and have had a profound, personally meaningful experience you might be interested in this survey.  The Johns Hopkins Survey of Psilocybin and Spiritual Experience.

The link is through the Council on Spiritual Practices:

    http://csp.org/hopkins/psilocybinsurvey.html

The study is being conducted by

The criteria for participating in the survey is:

       1. You are at least 18 years old.

       2. You speak and write English fluently.

       3. You have taken an active dose of psilocybin mushrooms that produced moderate to strong psychoactive effects.

       4. You have had a profound, personally meaningful experience after ingesting psilocybin mushrooms -- whether or not you would use the word 'spiritual' to describe that experience.

       5. The experience referred to above (#4) occurred when you were between 18 and 70 years old and did not occur in the context of an official university/hospital research study.

Full explanation is on the CSP page.

BTW, both Hopkins and the CSP were at the MAPS conference in San Jose, some great research going on.

  9. I developed episodic CH at 19 years old, that makes it 35 years of CH now.

No family history of headaches at all, not even my twin brother (fraternal).

Personally, I don't put much stock in the head trauma theory, as I suspect if these were caused by injury alone there would be a much higher incidence.  But that is just my opinion.

Rather than look for a cause, I try and look for answers.  ;-)

There are reports out there of a slightly increased occurrence rate for our children but if I recall it is not that much greater than the rarity this condition is.   That said, all too often I worry they could.  I can only hope these never happen with my kids or any other person.  But the possibility that they could develop these is one of the driving forces behind my involvement with clusterbusters.

    best wishes to all.

    FG

  10. The tea file is now available in the clusterbsuter files section, under the heading "tea"  :-)

Yes, O2 will be available at the portland conference.

You'll want to book your hotel room soon.  The speaker list is coming.

    FG

  11. Happy Birthday Bob.  :-)

Danny said it best, I'll just add my thank you to his list.

It's been an honor to know you and work with you.

Oh, I had a nice present all picked out for you but we drank it in San Jose at the conference.   ;-)

    FG
