alleyoop Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 This abstract is aimed at migraine, but still interesting for its possible ramifications. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2011.01910.x/abstract Quote
scottr1966 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I put this one in my notepad. Since I have HC I am intrigued by the anti-inflammatory properties. Thanks for posting this Alley. Scott Quote
Stump BeefKnob Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Recently I have been mixing 1/2 teaspoon powdered ginger in some liquid and pounding it right when I feel the shadow. I haven't really noticed any change in the headaches though Quote
Ricardo Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 A while back I had an acupuncturist recommend ginger for my headaches. He really felt that the amount of ginger I would need to eat would be way too ridiculous and advised ginger pills, lots. For the milder ones it seems like it works, only problem is I seem to build up tolerance to it. It'll work for a few days, then stop. I can easily tell the tolerance has set in when it stops making me sweat like crazy and I take a week off. Today I've taken 9 Ginger extract pills and 17 dried ginger pills (split into 2 doses, 1 in the morning and 1 at about 4. Seems like it's keeping the worst of it away, when I woke up I was sure I was gonna need some triptans.... Quote
