Redbeard
Hey all, Been reading Cluster Busters for years now and would like to thank everyone involved. I've been a CH sufferer for 16 years now and this site has been the only real help I've gotten in that time. The first cycle I had 16 years ago was pretty typical with light sensitivity, droopy eye, and 3-5 attacks per day. Doc gave me Imitrex pills (worthless) and never said anything about only taking one per day. I was taking 3-5 a day and it was a terrible experience. It wasn't until I found Cluster Busters that I learned about oxygen. Oxygen has been the only thing that has helped with the attacks. I went many years without another full blown cycle. In 2020 I got a really bad cycle but I didn't get the 3-5 attacks per day (thank God), instead I have a really bad headache and shadows that lasts for my entire cycle. When I say shadows I mean heavy shadows, very light headed/ dizzy. Sometimes so bad I feel nervous about driving a car. Also the headache ranges from 3-7 type pain for 12 or so weeks. Oxygen doesn't help with the shadow headaches. I had another bad cycle last year and now another one started 3 weeks ago. I'm really struggling, I'm an electrician by trade and working on tall ladders and playing with live wires isn't a great feeling when you are cross eyed lol. I was wondering if anyone else has had symptoms like these. Thanks, Erik
BoscoPiko
3 hours ago, Redbeard said: When I say shadows I mean heavy shadows, Hey Readbeard, Yea I get really bad shadows pretty much all the time as well. At times I feel as if I have vertigo Some see them as a precursor to a full blown attack. For myself they are somewhat a part of my daily life. I do get a good deal of relief from taking a daily dose of curcumin mixed with turmeric and others have decent responses to ginger capsules. There are other methods of dealing with your CH that you may want to check out (some of them have helped me with my shadows as well) that can be found by clicking on the blue banner at the top of each forum page (new users please read here first).
Redbeard
Hey BoscoPiko, Thanks for your response. I did take ginger capsules and ginger tea last cycle. I didn't get a lot of relief though it's hard to tell sometimes. I haven't tried curcumin mixed with turmeric, I will give that a shot. Do you have one continuous headache your entire cycle? That's what I've been dealing with my last three cycles. It's really bad today, hard to imagine another couple months of this. Also another thing that started happening the last couple of years is if I get hot and sweaty I get a bad headache (even when I'm not in a cycle). I drink tons of water too so its puzzling. BoscoPiko
Unfortunately ever since my very first cycle back in 2020 I have had pretty bad shadows year round. Some days are much worse than others, especially if I forget to take the curcumin and turmeric. I mentioned the new users banner because there are many things you can try to not only deal with shadows but also possibly skip through a cycle. I can elaborate a bit more if you like but it will require your post to be moved to something like theory and implementation..
FunTimes
Redbeard, one thing you may want to look into is the D3 protocol. use the search bar in the upper right corner and you will find a lot of information on it. Developed by one of our members (xxx) AKA Batch. Just over the counter vitamins. Edited February 16 by FunTimes
