Greetings Again CHer's

I know I have been posting all over the place on different topics and you all have been a Godsend, so thank you. My wife was sent to get an EKG for other reason outside of CH. We got the results back and she was diagnosed with PFO. Here is the defintion:

"Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart. This hole exists in everyone before birth, but most often closes shortly after being born. PFO is what the hole is called when it fails to close naturally after a baby is born."

We go and see the Cardiologist on Friday. But doing some research ourselves there has been limited, but some research on this condition causing certain types of headaches. Main one being migraines with aura, but cluster headaches are mentioned in a few studies that tie them to this condition. Due to the lack of studies it is hard to truly find an answer and we may never have one.

As you all know "grasping at straws" is pretty common with this horrible beast and due to such a large amount of sufferers on this page we wanted to see if anyone else on here has been diagnosed with this or know anyone?

PF Wishes as always!

Get that checked out before doing any meds prescribed!!!!

When she sees the Cardio doc, let him know about Clusters and what is prescribed for them. Some are contraindicated with any heart condition!!!!

Hugs and all the best on Friday!! Please let us know how it goes Bomachel!! May this provide her with a PF life!!!
