Evaluation of the Computerized Headache Assessment Tool (CHAT-III) for diagnosis of cluster and related headaches
We are looking for individuals to help evaluate an online headache diagnosis program. Anyone with headaches may take the survey, but we are specifically interested in individuals with any of the following:
- a confirmed diagnosis of cluster headache
- a possible or suspected diagnosis of cluster headache, even if not confirmed
- variants of cluster headache, including brief headache syndromes, “shadow headache,” and other variations
- individuals who have been misdiagnosed with cluster headache and found to have a different headache diagnosis
CHAT-III (Computerized Headache Assessment Tool-III) is an online headache diagnosis program, previously validated in people with migraine headaches. The current study focuses on the diagnosis of cluster headache and related headaches.
It takes most people less than 10 minutes to complete the online survey. If your CHAT-III diagnosis is different from your diagnosis given by a physician (or you have not been given a diagnosis), you will be asked to participate in a telephone diagnostic interview. The diagnostic interview takes anywhere from 15-30 minutes. You may also take the CHAT survey and choose not to participate in the diagnostic interview.
Results of this study will be used to promote more accurate diagnosis of cluster and related headaches by making the survey available to others.
There is no financial compensation for this study.
