I use LR while I am busting, I have not noticed it affecting my busting. But there are theories it might act as natural cortisol or boost body's own cortisol production, therefore affect busting somehow. I'd say one must try and compare. It's a magic herb for many for CH.

Tranceplants are not fastest in delivery but the quality has been steady and superb for years. If you use them, mention you are a Clusterbusters member and you will receive 25% extra EDIT: I checked out your other posts, you certainly seem to have been there done that. One thing you might like to look into is Herbal Protocol if you have not already. Wishing you all the best

I don't like to sound like a broken record but I firmly believe there are CH patients involved with personal agendas. They disguise these agendas by articulating very well and calm about the "rules" which in this case are just an excuse to limit the exposure for alternative treatments. Facebook folks know to what group and people I am referring to.

1g is regular and good first dose. Some people who have to use bigger ones and want to avoid effects, eat a large meal just before going to bed and then take the medicine. With luck, they sleep right through the trip.

I busted when I was chronic in 2010 with MM and got over 3,5 years 100% PF life (a miracle in my mind). Now I am in cycle but getting different results so like Purple said it's always "work in progress". But now I myself know that in my case long stretch of PF is doable so that is what I aim and try to improve my methods. And yes, Liquorice Root can be of great help but your sweetheart needs to stay away from relpax for 5 days before that as well. Wishing you guys all the best.

Great news, you've made it over half way - yay [smiley=thumbup.gif]

Relpax is a triptan so he needs to stay away from that for 5 days before MM. Check out this message thread for another member. Zomig & Imitrex are triptans like Relpax. Playing Well Together

Liquorice Root is one the most powerful herbs on the planet and according to Les' protocol it addresses our faulty hypothalamus and the chemical imbalance we have going on in HPA axis. It is very efficient for many. I will not do you a favour by writing up a short version but you will do yourself a favour by reading the Herbal Protocol, even by bit by bit since it's a lengthy article. Les covers so many different important aspects in it that Protocol really needs to be understood. Wishing you a great journey http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1322547210

Around 5 days yes. Triptans (Zomig & Imitrex) will block, see Shutting The Door. The 5 days detox is usually pretty rough for us and it needs to continue if one keeps on busting. Oxygen is by far the best weapon to use during this time. Most just need to try out different ways to use it to get the maximum helping potential out of it before heading to detox road. I'd say you need to have O2 working for you in such a way that you can abort every attack with it in 5-20 minutes. High flow oxygen (25lpm and up) is the most usual way with proper mask. I used the same regular mask that you have and it was enough, I just sealed it to the extreme and modified it to deliver more O2 to my pain side nostril. Most people use more "pro" masks though, I will add links below. Don't worry, you are heading to pain free life; get O2 gear to work for you, stock up on those energy drinks and bust every 5 days so long that cluster headaches are completely terminated. After 5 days off the meds you can even add the Liquorice Root and Skull Cap. Wishing you all the best. Sorry you found us but good for you that you did. Pretty much nothing to add to wonderful advices above except Liquorice Root perhaps (if you manage to get rid of the medications at some point). My busting is married with the Herbal Protocol. http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1322547210 and https://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1298659068 [smiley=engel017.gif]

Not about Wikipedia in general but concerning the cluster headache page I would not forget the possibility of personal agenda. Meaning just one patient (or patients) who do not approve alternative treatments, no matter how efficient, general or studied they are. For simply following some "rules" all this is sounding too much. I remember the fella who tried to shut down (or actually did) the CB site and quite a few his colleagues.

Just reading the posts above and not checking the Wikipedia sure sounds like the administrator is one of the persons with personal agendas. I don't know what it takes to be a Wikipedia administrator but in similar sites anyone can become one. Otherwise it would just not make sense. Here in Finland censorship and very hostile atmosphere towards all the alternative treatments has been around as long as the internet has been around. I have to say I am getting quite a kick out of how things are truly changing here right now. People who have been trying to censor and limit everybody's access to information just can't control everything anymore; the blockades are breaking. And it's wonderful to notice how majority seems to be able to use their own intellect and have wisdom to actually use the information they learn. Awesome times !

Wishing everyone Happy & Pain Free New Year ! Cheers for more new efficient treatment options available for everyone via awareness in years to come !

I don't know is it a good or bad thing that medical field professionals here in Finland turn to Wikipedia when they have their 1s CH patient but like I said, it's important to have all things covered in there. It's silly, yes - if for an example psilocybin is covered in Wikipedia - might affect a lot how a doctor in here treat their patients. I am so happy we have this covered right now.

Merry Christmas to everyone at Clusterbusters ! When year comes closer to an end I always think about the year 2010, my CCH at that point and my fool-proof plan to leave this planet. I found Clusterbusters and I am still here. And I will be eternally grateful. Have a good one !

You can even stay longer on O2 after last sign of pain if that seems to work better for you. Sometimes 10 minutes and more helped me a lot in a form of hit not returning. Although Les never covered it too much, I think the same mechanisms of action via which triptans block busting also apply to block or interfere the Liquorice Root's effects. I have heard of nothing but trouble and/or failure in Herbal Protocol if attempted while on triptans. For everyone, don't do it, respect this herb

I believe I turned chronic mostly because of triptans but steroids were doing their part as well. For me it was a frightening thought to go without triptans to be able to bust (5 days at least). And it was hard time but my attacks became easier without triptans, slowly but steadily. I had been using them way over the max amounts since I got 4-8 attacks every day. Nowadays I would not use triptan no matter what. For me, a single triptan creates a 5 day time frame where additional attacks are more than probable. And yes, one has to be off them prior to busting and they will also need to be dropped before the liquorice root. It is just hard to imagine the "better life" when you're having it rough and to think the meds you're using might be part of the problem. But I really like where you are going. Vitamin D, Liquorice root and some form of busting; those are the main ingredients that kept me PF for almost 4 years after busting myself PF from chronic state. All the best to you on your journey

Hi Art and welcome, you are in the right place with the right subject. I will let the US folks take this one. Very nice to have you here

I totally Love it. And love the fact how it is spreading in the Facebook at the moment !

Wikipedia is not trustworthy in that sense that anyone can edit it but I am under the impression that especially in countries where literature about CHs is limited, it just is one of the first hits from Google. I think it is important to keep the truth alive there. So Thank You !

Thank You so much. You can find the older (better) versions via the link in the first post. Save your work when done

Management of Cluster Headache Via Supplementation
Tony Only replied to Tony Only's topic in General Board
When I stumbled into this, I did not take these as absolute truths (well, I don't take anything as absolute truth concerning CH) but just one patient's thoughts and ideas. But you have a good point, he is a bit too preachy style wise. Anyways, for me it just created some new thoughts about whole subject. Some of the stuff relate to acetaldehyde which I think it's a mother trigger, melatonin (in my mind) can affect a lot how one's dreams turn out, seasonal stress part just is about the executive headache (in my mind) when relaxation after performing is bad for us etc. etc. I have found similar personalities among clusterheads I've been in contact with 20+ years (about that detailed work/thinking part). I just think it's neat that someone has written so much about it, but completely agree with Ricardo, it should be titled "This is my experience and this is what has helped me" which would make it more "right". -
Do we have people on board experienced in updating the Wikipedia ? Any references to Clusterbusters, psychedelics and/or other alternatives keep being deleted at cluster headache Wikipedia page. People with personal agendas keep replacing facts with personal opinions. I really think this is important that we have all not just selected information available there. Here in Finland that is the first page the media looks into. And even some doctors use it as a resource. I think it would be a huge "win" if someone could take this as their task, correct the page to a decent status and maybe save it for later use so it can be corrected again in the future. I think the old (decent) versions can be found here: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cluster_headache

Right now we are going through suggestions for products for our finnish group (t-shirts, bags, mugs etc.) and I just want to share on of our ideas with you because I like it so much and I think some of you will too -
I will post this here as well since I just read it for the first time and it has lots of interesting ideas. http://my.opera.com/richardinbellingham/blog/management-of-cluster-headache-via-supplementation-exercise-dietary-change-and
