Just wanted to share. I am kinda new to the busting thing. I am so glad to be off med's. my chronic clusters are a bit differenet than most. I have "stuck cluster shadows" all the precursors of clusters droopy eye, poker, sore neck all right sided but no real "headbangers" just more intense shadows depending on the day, weather change ect. The intense almost daily shadows have been around since my last cycle (3rd cycle ever ) ended back in may 2010. was put on indomethicin thinking it was hemicrainia continua helped for a bit and stopped working.

Anyone else have similar experience being "stuck" in shadows for sooo long?

well 2 weeks ago I did 60 rc seeds felt a bit better than 1 week later i did gram and a half of M still have shadows and plan on doing seeds again on saat night.

I would love some input and support. I know this approach could be a process for sure but I am going to give it my BEST shot!!!

thanks all

Anthony

Anthony,

So sorry you are in pain.  I have been chronic since April of this year.  And I too, get some "chronic shadows".  Mine are centered around my right temple, feels more like an irritation in the area than an actual CH.  I get the neck pain, but I think mine are caused by being "tense" from all of the HA's I've been having recently.

The seeds didn't do anything for me.  The last dose I took was 100 seeds and I tripped a little but no relief from the CH's.

I was on Indo for a while too, helped short term but not long term like you.  I just got my O2 set up going and it has been a life saver.  I've been a smoker for years and was told by a couple of neuro's that it wouldn't work for me, but it did.

so if you don't have O2 yet, I would strongly advise you get some.  I just started it yesterday and it has made a huge difference in my HA's.  I am no longer getting K8/9's and I am getting back to sleep much faster, which makes me feel better all around.

I deal with my shadows with Tylenol or Aleve.  The Aleve (naproxen) seems to work best in getting rid of the shadows for me.  Again, that is just my own experience.  M has worked much more effectively in the past for me, so that is what I am sticking with for now.

If the seeds are working for you, then I say go for it.  Seems pretty sensible to me.  Again, just my opinion for what it's worth.

Hoping you get some relief soon,

John

Indy,

I am so glad you have the O2. It is a major miracle!!!!! :)

Anthony,

Yeah, know what you mean about being 'stuck' I have been getting a lot of shadows most days. Coffee helps me, if I remember to drink it at lunch and about 5-6pm. Can't do the energy drinks at all. Tooooooo sweet and I get nauseous right away.

I have had constant sore neck, knot on the back of my noggin, and a 'swelling' feeling in my temple. Some folks use the O2 for those as well, but I can't hit the tank all the time so I try to cope with the coffee. Forgot it this pm and now there is the shadow again. My own fault. :(

The sore neck has yet to leave, even after months this go around. Despite the expert efforts of my son to massage it out daily, it is awfully fricking constant!

Alley can be a big help. Ya might give the ginger a try. Different strokes work for different folks! :)

Best of luck and PF days ahead!
