BOL Bromo-LSD HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE THE 1950'S

While sansert (methysergide) has similarities to LSD, it has no bromine, according to my old Merck Index.

Edited to add:

I looked up Bromo LSD in the Merck, and damned if it isn't in there. It shows a reference to: Troxler, Hofmann, Hedv. Chim. Acta 40, 2160 (1957).

So yeah, apparently Dr. Hofmann and a colleague wrote it up in 1957.

Well I have been researching BOL and found it has been around since the 1950's.  Phil

Yep, it's been sitting around gathering dust since the 50s just like LSD, and for the same reasons for the most part.

There is some question as to whether we can get it manufactured in the States without going through everything we have to go through for LSD.

The reason being that to make BOL, you must first make LSD, which as we all know, is not legal to do.

Hoops Hoops hoops....Where's Michael Jordan when ya need 'em.

If you check out the 2-Bromo thread in this section, you'll find the info on Sansert vs. Bromo

In the children's unit of Creedmore State Hospital with a resident population of 450 patients, ages 4 to 15, we have investigated the responses of some of these children to lysergic acid and related drugs in the psychiatric, psychological and biochemical areas. Two groups of boys receiving daily LSD, UML (which is a methylated derivative of LSD) or psilocybin ... at first the medication was given weekly but was eventually given daily for periods of up to several months. Dosages remain constant throughout, LSD 150 mcg. (which is a standard for an adult trip), psilocybin 20 mg. daily or UML 12 mg. daily, all given in two divided doses. The average duration of treatment was 2 to 3 months. Daily. Children, 7, 9 , 11 years old ...

Treatment of Childhood Schizophrenia Utilizing LSD and Psilocybin

http://maps.org/news-letters/v07n3/07318fis.html

Now that the FDA has permitted research with LSD and psilocybin to resume, we feel it is important to share examples of a remarkable experiment, the results of which were not sufficiently taken into account because this line of research was prematurely halted in the mid-sixties due to political considerations. Childhood schizophrenia is still a difficult problem to treat and causes much suffering. It is a terrible shame that research done 35 years ago is still the last word on the use of psychedelics to treat these conditions.

Podcast 156 – “Treating Childhood Schizophrenia with Psychedelics”

Guest speakers: Gary Fisher and Charlie Grob

September 10th, 2008

In 1963, Dr. Gary Fisher wrote a paper titled

An Investigation to Determine Therapeutic Effectiveness of

LSD-25 and Psilocybin on Hospitalized

Severely Emotionally Disturbed Children

http://www.matrixmasters.net/blogs/?p=697

We have given treatment to 12 patients. They have ranged in age from 4 years, 10 months to 12 years, 11 months. The average age is 9 years, 10 months. All patients are severely emotionally disturbed and are considered variants of childhood schizophrenia and infantile autism. Nine Children are considered to be childhood schizophrenics, one case of symbiotic, infantile psychosis and one case of manic-depressive psychosis.

bromo-LSD = 2-bromolysergic acid diethylamide

Methysergide (Sansert) = 1-Methyl- d-lysergic acid- (1-hydroxybut- 2-yl) amide

They are different substances.

I took Sansert circa 1990's.  Very expensive then (I was uninsured at the time)  Can you explain the differences in these substances?  Layman terms please.

They are similar like grape juice and wine.

Sansert is taken every day for 6 months and then taking a break, and can lead to some serious side effects.

Bromo-lsd is being tested as a treatment used three times, and done.

Sort of like driving non-stop, every day for 6 months, without a seatbelt vs. driving 3 times with a seatbelt each time.
