big j
I used an expired imitrex injection over the weekend, it was 6mg and it expired in 2012. Not recommending it (or imitrex) but since I did I figured I would let people know that it still seemed to work as it's supposed to, with a strong rebound one the next day as expected
CHfather
Thanks for letting us know, j. If you do Imitrex again, keep in mind that you can split your injections to take less sumatriptan (which is still almost certain to stop your attack). You injectors are old enough that they might even be the kind that are much easier to take apart. https://clusterbusters.org/forums/topic/2446-extending-imitrex/
Pebblesthecorgi
If you keep your meds out of light and at a stable temp (avoid heat) they should last long after expiration date (which are sort of made up and reqiuired by law). The same is true for self sourced medications.
Ultradocrg
Good to know. I'm now asymptomatic for a year and have a bunch of sumatriptan injectors and vials that I cannot use. Hopefully I'll find someone who can so that they don't go to waste.
