kate
Hello everyone, I've not been on for a while but thought I'd share a story with you. I'm English and moved to Holland nearly nine months ago. I've had a really hard time getting work so was happy to hear that a coupe wanted an English speaking person to childmind their two children twice a week. I met with the mother of the children and we were both happy to go ahead. She wanted me to go to her house the very next day so that the children could start getting used to me. I was completely honest with her and after hearing that her husband had worked at Queen's Square (and was a neurologist) told her about my Cluster. The next day I received a call from her saying that as much as she liked me her husband wouldn't feel comfortable leaving his children with a person who has cluster. I had explained to her about my 'treatment' and that I had not suffered an actual full attack for years due to maintenance dosing but according to her husband I am in remission which could last 5-10 years but come back any time. So.....sacked before I started LOL How ironic that it was a neurologist who knew Professor Goadsby. :

Ironic - yes, but not all that surprising. Thanks for posting kate, and sorry the gig didn't work out for you.
TakinitEZ
Man, That's terrible, Kate. Like AllyOop said, though, not that surorising when you think about it. I know I'm fairly unreliable. You just happened on someone wh has actually heard of cluster! -T
Hipshot
What goes around comes around. The good doctor may get what's coming to him for treating you so unfairly. I am sorry that that happened to you but I am encouraged that you haven't had an attack in years due to maintenance dosing. Dan
