  1. I worked with emotionally disturbed kids for 4 years, most were on Depakote, and most developed major seizure disorders as a result. I'm sure it had something to do with the cocktail of meds they were taking, but all who developed seizures were on depakote. That is worth noting. Do your research, as pharmaceuticals can really mess with brain chemistry (not always positive) after one dose, with permanent results. Good luck!

    Legal fund

Morning Spiny! I think it is necessity to get this going. I know the fundraisers usually happen after the need has arisen, but in this case, I think it would be best to be proactive, and to have a good attorney on retainer. Maybe one that has CH. We could all start compiling in one place the evidence of how effective this treatment is, how we approach new people that come here (meaning walking them through the process, not just giving them psychedelic drugs and leaving) Once BOL-148 is on the market, and provided we haven't used the fund, we could donate the funds to helping people, that otherwise would not have access, get BOL. I know, I know... cart before the horse. Just really excited to get this going. I like your choice Spiny! Off to go be with my mama... she is having her second knee replacement surgery in about 2 hours... so, if y'all wouldn't mind, send some healing vibes to Mama Tuckerman! Thanks
  3. Does anyone else find the name iPain pretty clever? Or just me? Hope you are hanging in there Eric! Let us know how the doc appointment goes!

    Legal fund

BUMP Was talking with a good friend yesterday, and he happens to have a ton of money. He would contribute to the fund, knowing exactly what its for, as he knows the choices I have to make to treat this beast. He would probably contribute a lot, if it were tax deductible. Who knows anything about non-profits and how to set one up? I am hoping that it would not be a conflict for ClusterBusters to get involved, so we can save $$$ on start up. Who should I bother about this? FunGuy? Mr. Wold? Alleyoop?  Let me know if ClusterBusters can house the defense fund under its umbrella. Have a good day! Tuck
  5. Damn... that feckin sucks! Glad your ticker is good though!
  6. Kyle's tag line: Beer Judge, competitive eater, SUBMISSION GRAPPLER, and Ch sufferer. I would hate to know that my opponent had CH... I bet you never get submitted. You laugh at the pain that others try to afflict on you. 8-)
  7. Wish someone would have told me the rules ;D

    Legal fund

2Funguys are in. 10% of profits will go to this fund. I also volunteer to be treasurer  : Complete with quarterly accounting statements, etc. Need to work out details, like can donations be tax deductible? I know a non-profit is needed, so I was thinking (out-loud again) that the fund could be run through CB, so as the contributions would be tax-deductible. There are probably some people that would want to donate to help us Clusterheads out. Still loving this idea! It would be nice to know if any judge has CH. And see if we could have a change of venue to wherever that judge presides. The choices we have to make to be pain free...
  9. Ralphster Spores ... he has been to a conference, and is a true friend of the clusterhead. That is why I support him, he supports us!
  10. Good Morning Bonnie Lee! Hope you had a restful night. The RedBull method seems to work for a lot of people, luckily, I have oxygen that works 90% of the time, so I have not had to drink the RB's, I don't care for the taste The RC seeds seem to be the best treatment approach for you and your situation. Order some pronto!!! Detox from all other meds that don't play nice with seed treatment. I copied and pasted it below: Good luck, we ALL know how you feel. Is the O2 being administored at 15/lpm? Hopefully, you have an even higher flow rate. That seems to make a huge difference. Here are the meds that will interfer: 6. - PLAYING WELL TOGETHER Nov 18th, 2010 at 8:38pm   PLAYING WELL TOGETHER Every doctor, every pharmacist, will warn about drug interactions...some chemicals simply do not play well with others in the body. Sometimes, one drug will block the actions of another. Sometimes, one drug will strengthen or change the actions of another, or the two together will cause something else entirely to happen. The bad news for clusterheads: many medications commonly used to treat clusters will block the effectiveness of tryptamines. In fact, when the clusterbuster treatment doesn’t work, most of the time it is because these drugs are interfering. There are other drugs and substances that make the tryptamines work too well...that is, they enhance the psychedelic side effects of tryptamines, and make for some unwanted surprises. Based on the reports of clusterheads and expectations based on research and theory, Clusterbusters made a list of drugs likely to interfere with the treatment. There are other drugs we are not sure will interact with tryptamines, and drugs that might enhance the psychoactive effect of tryptamines. And of course there are drugs and treatment that do play well with cluster-busting tryptamines. Experience has shown the clusterbuster treatment works best when drugs that interfere are avoided for long enough to be cleared from the body. We call this period “detox,” short for “detoxification,” though technically, this is not the proper term. Many clusterheads use some of these drugs for other conditions, and should talk with their doctors before stopping or changing any medications; some cluster medications must be withdrawn from slowly with a prescribed schedule so, again, see your doctor first. Dropping cluster meds can be difficult while the attacks keep coming, but there are ways to help you survive during detox. See COPING - BUSTER-FRIENDLY TREATMENTS: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290131288 and OXYGEN INBFORMATION: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1319283840 SURE BLOCKERS Triptans Perhaps the most common culprits for ClusterBuster failure are the triptans, since they unfortunately are the most popular abortive treatments for cluster attacks. Sumatriptan (Imitrex) can stop an attack quickly, and it’s possible it foils the clusterbuster treatment more often than any other blocker. Other triptans are used less often, and there are fewer experiences, but for the sake of caution, these should also be avoided. Sumatriptan (Imitrex®) Zolmatriptan (Zomig®) Rizatriptan (Maxalt®) Naratriptan (Amerge®) Frovatriptan (Frova®) Almotriptan (Axert®) Eletriptan (Relpax®) Steroids Steroids, the corticosteroids Prednisone and Prednisolone particularly, can be very effective at completely stopping cluster attacks while they are being used. They are also very effective at causing some nasty side effects, and most doctors prescribe them only for short periods in decreasing dosages. There are many reports that prednisone will block the clusterbuster treatment. Verapamil and other calcium channel blockers Verapamil is a blood-pressure drug often prescribed for the long-term, preventive treatment of clusters. Most reports seem to indicate verapamil and other calcium channel blockers will interfere with the clusterbuster treatment, though a few say they successfully used tryptamines while on verapamil, and some reports seem to indicate that it impeded but didn’t completely block the treatment. Verapamil is known by the brand names Isoptin, Verelan, Verelan PM, Calan, Bosoptin and Covera-HS. Anti-convulsants Topamax (topiramate) is another of those drugs developed for some other disease that clusterheads have found useful. Many find its side effects objectionable. There are indications it will block the effectiveness of tryptamines, as will other anti-seizure medications such as Depakote and Tegretol. Opiates Opiates usually have little to no effect on clusters for most, but a few say the stuff works for them, and it is too-often prescribed by doctors in desperation or under the faulty assumption that such powerful pain killers must automatically work for painful “headaches.” There are many tales of emergency room doctors who are surprised and aghast when a shot of morphine has no effect on a cluster attack. Other drawbacks - the infamous addiction potential, while sometimes overstated, is real. It results in such medications becoming a target for theft. In any case the opiate and opioid pain killers seem to interfere with the cluster treatment. There are many in use; here is an incomplete list: •Opium •Morphine •Heroin •Codeine •Demerol (pethidine) •Percoset (oxycodone) •Oxycodone •Oxycontin (oxycodone) •Hydrocodone •Fentanyl •Buprenorphine •Methadone •Tramadol •Vicodin (hydrocodone) •Dilaudid (hydromorphone) •Actiq (fentanyl) •Duragesic (fentanyl) •Suboxone (buprenorphine) •Ultram (tramadol) •Ultracet (tramadol) Ergotamines Including but not limited to:    •Dihydroergotamine (DHE) (nasal sprays [migranal] and injections)    •Sansert    •Cafergot    •Ergomar The molecules of these substances are very similar in shape to the tryptamines. This means they fill the same neuroreceptors as tryptamines, and interfere with the clusterbuster method. They can have some very serious side effects as well. They are powerful vasoconstrictors, and can cause bad circulation problems, particularly in the fingers and toes. SSRIs SSRIs, or selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors, widely used to treat mood and other psychological disorders may be blockers, as they are involved with serotonin. The SSRIs include Prozac, Celexa, Lexapro, Paxil and Zoloft. Other similar serotonin-affecting drugs include Effexor, Pristiq and Cymbalta. Drugs known as tricyclics, including Elevil and Tofranil. may also interfere with tryptamine treatment. ENHANCERS Lithium People taking lithium, whether it is for preventing cluster headaches or for some other reason (it is often prescribed for people with bipolar affective disorder - see below for more on bipolar disorder). Anecdotal reports suggest that lithium can greatly potentiate the effects of LSD or mushrooms, and that it can produce very unpleasant feelings. An examination of a number of reports suggested that lithium can either increase or decrease effects. The combination of lithium and tryptamines may even produce episodes that seem like, and that perhaps are, epileptic seizures. If people are taking lithium for treating cluster headaches and it is not working, they may want to talk with their doctor about not taking it any more before trying mushrooms or LSD. If people are taking lithium for bipolar affective disorder, they probably should continue taking lithium, and they should avoid taking tryptamines for cluster headaches. MAOIs Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) such as Nardil or Parnate are prescribed for depression and sometimes other conditions. They can block the action of enzymes that can break down some tryptamines, and as such may act to intensify the action of a given dose of tryptamine, especially when first taking tryptamines. However, after continued use (as perhaps after a month or more), MAOIs will tend to reduce the psychedelic effects of mushrooms and LSD. It is not known if long term use of MAOIs will interfere with tryptamine treatment of cluster headache, but it is possible. NON-BLOCKERS There are substances which will probably not interfere with the actions of psilocybin:    •    antibiotics    •    NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Tylenol           (acetaminophen), aspirin,    ibuprofen, Vioxx (rofecoxib), etc.    •    antacids and anti-ulcer medications    •    asthma medications    •    insulin    •    caffeine    •    caffeine/taurine energy drinks    •    Tylenol    •    aspirin    •    B-Complex and multi vitamins    •    Diovan (blood pressure)    •    protonix (for acid reflux)    •    Indomethacin    •    meclizine and dimenhydramine (The antinausea agents)       •    Lipitor Hope all this helps you take the next step to pain free times!
  11. You can order the RC seeds from various sources on the internet. Someone will probably be able to tell you which source has the highest quality and for the best price. The RC seeds are legal to own and possess, so its not a big deal to order them. They are illegal when consumed; however, it would be very difficult to get caught, as you consume the evidence. Read the Files, and hang in there. We have all come to this board because we have been right where you are. Busting has saved our lives, and I know it will save yours. Don't give up! You can fight back now that you know the tools to use!!!! Tuck
  12. Nice Bump Purple. I tried to talk to my first doc about it, and he dismissed it completely, and wrote out the scripts for all the meds. About $400 to have filled with insurance, then $80 per shot during the cycle. The meds made the cycle longer, and more painful. Luckily, I was able to bust the following cycle, and wanted to go into his office and slam him up against a wall, and make him tell others of this treatment. It is not humane to keep this knowledge suppressed. But then I thought better, and found another doc, that was at least familiar with this method. In fact, he was the one that convinced Odin to join the board this past Sat, and indirectly advocated this treatment. I like my new doc. I have a ton of respect for doctors that truly want to help people, and not just make money off pharmaceuticals. If you do bring it up, bring in a ton of info with you, possibly play him the Nat Geo Clip with Dan and LeeAnn. That was pretty powerful stuff. My 2 cents.
  13. To answer my own question, yes, they are!!!! Reservation made!!!!! Can't wait!
  14. Is the hotel/casino already set up for us to make reservations? Would like to go ahead and get mine.... ;D Vegas baby, Vegas!
  15. Yeah, I don't think he was growing them for clusters... LOL. Also, NEVER sell them, give them to people in need, and you can't be charged with dealing. $11,000 to $15,000 for 5.5 pounds of mushies? really, they are priceless to me. Can't put a sticker price on pain free time!

    Legal fund

Incredible Idea. Could ClusterBusters be the administrator of the funds? That would save some up-front costs, and most of the donations to the defense fund, could be used solely for defense. Speaking with no experience of how to do this. But, INCREDIBLE IDEA, and I am in. I'll talk to my partner, and see if we can set aside 10% of our net profits for this purpose. I think he might have reason to say yes! Then lets hope we have a bang up year, and get the fund started properly! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  17. Had my results read, and nothing. All normal. Guess I should be happy about that, but am somewhat disappointed. Did have a minor hit the other night, as I am finishing up a divorce and some other stress with the business. 5 mins on the O2 tank, and all was good. It may have also been a small rebound from the treatment on Wed. night. Who knows. But needless to say, has my anxiety through the roof. Hopefully, I will not go into cycle, as my last one was around this time last year. Weather has been crazy here, as it seems to be crazy all over. Hot then a cold snap, then perfect fall day... I can still drink a beer, so I don't know what to think about this little hit. Came from nowhere, and was gone quick. weird. Normally, in a full cycle or the beginning, looking at a beer would give me a hit! Hope everyone is doing well!
  18. CH Father... now that is funny... I don't care who you are. LOL Kyle, I go back at the end of the month for the doc to read the results. I can't tell a thing from the MRI and MRA, except that at least something was in there .... and that was a relief! LOL.
  19. So its looking more at the blood vessels? That is where I am confused. Can it see nerves? So many questions , Guess I will find out today! TTFN, Tuck
  20. Finally will be getting those done this week!!!! I have yet to have a "full" headache, but I know they are coming, and my new Doc, THANK YOU ALLEYOOP!, prescribe me these two imagining appointments. Wonder what they will find... I am really hoping they don't confirm what I have suspected for a while... that my noggin is empty. MRI, I know what that is... been there done that for my back, but MRA, not sure what that is. Anyone know what an MRA is looking at/for? Pain Free times to you all!
  21. Ouch Jimmy! I hate those hits where nothing works. Luckily, they are few and far between in my world. Wait the 5 days, then if you have enough vitamins, take a larger dose. That seems to really knock my cycle out. I usually have a rebound the next day, but then a lot of PF time. Check you PM's and let me know if you need anything.
  22. Any Georgia clusterheads have a good doctor to recommend? I looked at the OUCh website, and they have a couple listed, but wanted to see if any of you really like your doctor, and if you would recommend them. Pain Free days and nights to you all!
  23. Not sure if this is supposed to be funny or not. Saw this guy on Tosh.0 and can't stop singing this song. "wish real hard and it goes away somehow"
  24. Bushman and KaBoom... I would be honored if you stole my word. : Basoon, thanks for the info! You are right, we are desperate for a cure, and that is why this board is awesome. People like you, looking out for everyone. you rock!
  25. Well, I am extremely grateful for ClusterBusters and fungus. I am also extremely grateful for all of you! You make it easier to keep fighting, and you make it easier to deal with this crap of a condition! Thanks all of you!
