BrianSD-Cluster
Hello, I want the "Demand valve", but what about needing the Bubbler/moisturizer too? Does the DV moisturizer the air?? Please help, as I'm ready to buy. Also, I see medical hose used with the DV, but could I not just use air compressor hose? it's much cheaper... Thoughts? Bejeeber
Kudos for going whole hog with the demand valve! If you're thinking this is no time for screwin' around I can see your logic! I've seen the CH.com O2 guru Batch state that a bubbler shouldn't be used with anything over 15 LPM, and with a demand valve I imagine you'll be averaging more than 15 LPM, so I believe I would skip the bubblage festivity. I was all concerned about the bubbler routine at first too, but found (and read) that even at high LPMs the respiratory system just tends to just adapt and the nutty bubblin' ain't really necessary.
blueballs
For me without the bubbler my throat will become irritated. At high flow with a bubbler, moisture will get in the hose....it is solved with a water trap available from 02 suppliers,it goes in line and will trap moisture that causes bacteria and fungus. Be aware that cleaning and decontamination is critical...gotta have clean tools.Hoses, mask, water trap, bubbler all of it. Lifegas recommends cleaning of their product after each use. Keep in mind ambient air contains moisture and our bodies are acclimated to that moisture. Comfort is everything Hope you have happy huffin Belive me you dont want an oral fungus or bacterial infection that can propagate to the lungs...you wont be able to use 02 then. :'( bb
Brew
I've found that sipping ice water in between hits off the DV is the best compromise.
