FLUFFHEAD
You can call me FLUFFHEAD! I have been suffering from from CH's for 15 years and dealt with it for the 10 without any treatment. I have a neurologist and get the very expensive imitrex prescribed along with steroids and verapamil? My condition comes on every 12 to 18 months and usually last around 3 months. As my "cycle" begins in escalates rapidly from 1 or 2 mild headaches to 5 to 8 "suicider's" a day for months. Ive spent a lot of money trying to do anything to make them stop(and yes suicide has been an option). The only thing that kept me going is "relax it always goes away". I have recently learned of the use of psilocybin as a cure but did not know about LSD or DMT. Now my drug use is not the reason I'm here, I have used all of the drugs listed in large doses and really don't know if they've helped because I was always scared to take them during my cycle because what would be worse than tripping balls and getting a CH. Well I got the first tinge the other night and a mild one yesterday, with no health insurance for 6 more weeks I'm resorting tryptamines. I am going to get LSD, DMT, and Mushrooms and do my own experiments. I have used these three wonderful gifts for leisure but now its time for them to help me in another way. Can anyone give me any help on how to do this process most effectively. Thank You!
CHfather
Okay, I'll call you FLUFFHEAD. With having gone 10 years without any treatment, you have earned the right to be called anything you want. You will learn all you need to know about treating CH with the things you mention in the many files in the "ClusterBuster files" section of this board, which you can get to from the "Forum Jump" tab at the bottom of this page. You will have to "detox" from imitrex and the steroids for five days. It's good to be off verapamil, too, but many people have had some success while still taking verap. It seems that you do not have oxygen. You really, really want oxygen, which is the most effective abortive there is. It will help you get through the 5-day detox and the time after that while busting kicks in (it can require several "busts," five days apart, to fully treat CH when you're in cycle). Even without insurance, you can set up a system using welding oxygen. A lot of people here and among others with CH do it that way. Here's some info about oxygen (O2): http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1299901790 Here are some files about busting to start with: Overview: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290127865 Interactions with meds: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290130731 Dosing (though there's nothing here about LSD or DMT): http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290130612 Warnings: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1319290654 I believe it is agreed here that LSD is likely to be the most effective busting agent. Could be wrong about that. Psilo is great, too. (The goal of most people here is to find the point where the dosing kicks in but tripping is minimized. Others can be more precise with you about what that might mean, dosagewise.) Whatever you do next, please stay in touch. People here will help you. Also -- Have you tried quickly drinking an "energy drink" (RedBull, Monster, etc.) at the start of an attack? That helps a lot of people (particularly when combined with O2). Bejeeber
Hey FLUFFHEAD, Glad to see CHf dished out his usual very good and succint info/ideas for you. I think you'd be well advised to study them carefully. I agree with all of them including the detox that'll be necessary from those tryptamines. Many of us tried O2 back in the day and gave up on it. That was because low liter flow/rebreather O2 as it is still commonly prescribed wasn't effective for us. Enter higher flow 100% O2 as CHf has linked to and it's a whole new ballgame. Much more effective. LSD and Psilocybin are both proven CH killers alright, and I'm one of those who believes LSD may be the most effective although mushrooms are no slouch - in fact they're very powerful! You are one prime candidate for busting!! I'll be watching for your reports.
diamondmaker
Welcome to the board FLUFFHEAD. I can't really add to what has already been said, but this will help you understand the 5 day thing... MoxieGirl
Hi FLUFFHEAD, and welcome. Ditto to the comments made already, all good advice. I suppose I might add that taking these 'meds' for recreational use is probably quite different than for busting. Same process, but the goal is to find the lowest dose required to bust with the minimum trip possible. I'm not a pro with these drugs in a rececational form by any means, but in other areas of my life, I've learned just because I know something well for one purpose, applying that science to another purpose isn't always a direct transfer. So very well worth reading through the material on the site, in my humble opinion. I was getting up to 5 hits a day, every 2-3 days for over a year when I started busting. I haven't cured it, not sure there is a cure. But I have broken my cycle, and enjoyed 2-3 weeks at a time cluster free. Busting has turned my life around, well, no. Actually it has given me my life back. I too had been considering the 'other' option. Glad I don't have to now. Also be sure to read the article on playing well with other drugs. Hoping you many pain free days to come. Renée
