didgens
our oxygen vendor just called and said it was a waste of their time to drive out to our home an deliver oxygen so they weren't going to do it !!!!! W T F
ThatHurtsMyHead
Sounds like the company here in FL I USE to do business with. I don't know how much your insurance pays, but you might look at the welding O2. It's pretty cheap most places. J
CHfather
That's outrageous, and I would think there must also be something illegal about it. I'm sure you've called your doctor. If medical oxygen suppliers are regulated, you should call the offices of your state representative and state senator and get them involved. As a possible workaround, might you be able to get them to bring you a big tank (M tank) that wouldn't need refilling as often? If that's too expensive and/or you can't arrange it or find a different supplier, what about getting welding O2? [i see THMH just suggested this.]
didgens
Thanks fellas ,,, I called the Drs office and the receptionist said "yes ,, that patients were complaining about them and that she actually had a patient provide the name of another vendor", so I am in the works with them. We have 1 small tank full left from these people. I did call their customer service and complain ,, I never received a call back. oop .. wait wait .. an update as im typing ,, apparently someone got their butt chewed and it was just delievered... seriously ,, as I was typing .. at least their customer service realizes the legal implications. Fabalicious
All I can say is...wow.. I wish you lived closer I would bring you one of my tanks. AND drive with you to that company and open us up an old fashioned can of whoopass. HUGS Didg!
ThatHurtsMyHead
didgens, Just goes to show the importance of escalating a complaint if companies don't do what they should. Great to hear the O2 is back! J
didgens
Fabac you rock ,,, I would have loved to see that ,, !! you might have had to hold me back as well.. lol. At least we now have 2 almost full tanks to hold us until I get the other straightened out and can tell the other company to shove off ! I have had to really push as a medical advocate for both my son and more recently my husband in a BIG way ,, so im not afraid to do whats needed. I call it being "Politely Persisstant". aka a NAG when needed.
Fabalicious
Thats the thing though, you should NOT have to nag to get them the medical care they need. They should be getting that and then some. When I look at what the medical field has turned into...its just disgusting. There are still those out there who are in it for the right reasons, but sadly, more and more of them are in it for money..thats it. Makes the ones who are good and really want to help people look bad.
ThatHurtsMyHead
Fabac, Oh yea. 110% agree. The entire medical process / profession has turned away from the goal of helping people, and into the goal of profit. J
ToniEvo
OMG!! Well done for being 'politely persistent'!! I bet you wanted to shove their tank up their 'nose'...I would!! So pleased you've sorted it out! What a nightmare for you. Hopefully it won't be repeated
didgens
thanks ToniEvo ,,, now we have enough O's to share. 2 small portables and 1 medium ,, im gonna hang on to all of them for now .. the first company is so inept I think it will take years for them to even notice we have them. I havnt received a bill from them in 4 months .. I have no idea how they stay in business.
ToniEvo
ahaha - i love it!! what a bonus, serves them right
ThatHurtsMyHead
Inept management of the O2 companies sounds pretty common I think. I have 3 E tanks from 2 prior companies, that never bothered to pick them up. Just leaving them in the closet till, who knows, they might come in handy for something.
