Chronic to episodic

Hello - I hope it gets better soon, hang in there. I just randomly check back every now and then - and my experience is very limited - but I feel prepared for an upcoming cycle. My dad has had headaches for 10+ years, I started getting them 6 years ago. Neither of us heard of CH until last spring when I was at my worst and desperate to find an answer.

Today, my dad and I can finally enjoy a beer and reflect on what we have learned. Verapamil, sumatriptan nasal spray, oxygen - really life savers for us. I also do the D3, my dad takes other stuff. Previously I used Tylenol Severe Sinus (acetaminophen), hot showers, and ice-packs...

Hi Laura!

Good to hear from you, but sorry you are going thru a rough spot.

Yes, we do have some members who have gone from chronic to episodic. How? Not sure. But busting helped a few get there, much to their surprise. :)

What are you doing for yours now?

I would be one of the lucky few. A little background, I have migraines and Clusters. The first time I first busted I did it all wrong, was still on meds. Second time I went on this site and ask some questions and found out what meds i needed to quit taking. I bit the bullet and went cold turky off all pharmacy meds for 5 days, it was hell with very little sleep and consistent hits. I did the three bust cycles using MM and it worked. I made the mistake of getting over confident and ran out of maintenance doses of MM and got hit hard for a few days. I found RC seeds and started taking them. I still have migraines but not near as often. My Clusters have been few and far between as long as I do a maintenance dose when i get shadows for c couple days in a row.

Good luck and sorry for the hard times.
