  1. I'll preface this with the fact I haven't done any of the busting stuff yet, still main stream meds, here to learn more about the busting. 32 year, episodic sufferer, use 02 to abort 95% of my attacks. I chug a Red Bull in about 20 seconds, then start huffing the 02, when I feel an attack coming on. Energy Drinks have never aborted an attack for me. They will reduce an attack, but I'll still have a 90 minute ride if I only use Red Bull. I have found chugging the Red Bull as I start the 02 seems to speed the abort time, and more importantly for me, seems to block the come backer attack I'm prone to within 10-20 minutes after shutting down the 02. Sadly, the only way to know for sure is trial and error. Good luck. Joe
  2. wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which fills up first" That was my dad's favorite saying! ;D Joe
  3. Yeah I always get the flu shot, haven't had the flu in forever!!! Crossing my fingers now hoping I have not jinxed myself!!! ;D Joe
  4. Whats worse is the flu, when you can't hold anything down....including your prevents. So on top of a kick ass flu, your cycle revs into high gear without the prevent to hold it back. One more reason I'm cruising this board these days......... : Joe
  5. Sounds good to me. Yes....my version of "she who must be obeyed" has spoken! It's on! Joe
  6. My brother sez quitting is the easiest thing in the world. He's quit hundreds of times....... Joe
  7. I've used excederin migrain occasionally, when I just need a day off from the crap of lingering shadows. Use caution, any regular use of this med is begging for rebounds, but with occasional use I haven't had any negative issues. Joe
  8. No easy answer to this one. For some, an alcoholic drink of any kind, on cycle, will bring a hit within minutes. For some, only certain types of alcohol, the red wines, dark liquors etc., are triggers, then there are some that claim alcohol seems to make no difference at all on or off cycle. As with so many aspects of the beast, careful monitoring of your own reactions is the only way to be sure. Joe
  9. Well Brew, Christy says as long as "she who must be obeyed" is going, she'll know someone se then we can go too. We can celebrate our anniversaries together! (No Brew, not like THAT, just go out together, sheesh! ;D) Joe
  10. I agre with the above. The actual pain of CH does not respond to pain killers as it's too intense, so absent knocking you out, they won't help. You'll have a higher degree of success attacking the mechanism of pain, which is what the ice cold air does, and the oxygen does even better! Joe
  11. Seen a lot of CH'ers get sold the CPAP to help their apnea and "cure" their CH. Does wonders for apnea, does nothing for CH. Joe
  12. Wow! R U saying that you're a rare clusterhead that does not smoke? I'm another one of those "fake" CH'ers who has never smoked! ;D Talk about feeling out of place at conventions! On cycle my triggers are alcohol, sleep cycle disruptions, sustained stress, and getting extremely hungry. Off cycle, nuttin bugs me! Joe
  13. I am one of 14 children, currently have about 60 nieces and nephews and even a couple great nieces and nephews...thus far, I'm the only winner of the CH lottery! Joe
