  1. I hate to say it, but my opinion of physicians (& dentists), in general, has been declining rapidly for several years. My level of skcepticism is conversely through the roof. I've had two good docs, but the rest seem on an endless loop. And some of them are relatives! :'( So glad your pain is in control.
  2. The new site has a "medical" look and feel, which supports the basic issue.
  3. I lived north of Dallas a few years. I never got used to the weather which could go from 20F to 90F in one day--I am not guilty of hyperbole here! I had been in Texas less than a month in 1980, a heat wave was in full force and I got sun stroke. I wasn't tolerant of heat before, coming from northern climes, but after that I have zip tolerance. Heat is one thing guaranteed to give me a very "sick headache" as we used to call them. My son lives there and he says the weather getting even more peculiar.
  4. NDD

    am I chronic?

I'm new on here, but lots of people recommend oxygen to get through the detox. http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1299901790 Good luck!
  5. Diesel and aviation fuel both give me the worst CHs. I never take the recirculation off in my car, a Honda, which I bought in part because it has a double air filter system. My daughter is still complaining 30 years later because when I took her to Disneyworld, waiting on the bus to go from our hotel to the park gave me one of the worst headaches I've ever had, so we had to go back to the room.
  6. What happens at the conferences. Speakers, workshops, that sort of thing?
  7. I ordered from www.iamshaman.com, found from someone on this forum. Got order in two days. I searched the site and found tons of information. Good luck.
  8. Thank you for finding this! I went straight to the study pros-cons and found it interesting how much the results sound like those just released in the British study. Such a shame all these years this potentially lifesaving mode of treatment has been ignored.
  9. Thank you! I've spent last couple days reading on the site--very impressive amount of information and sharing.
  10. Hello all. I'm new to this forum! I'm busy reading the archives. While far better than in my younger days, recently I've been in a long cycle of migraines, one three days, the shadow not leaving for months, and cluster headaches, though not so often. I found getting in a cold bath helpful. I've been reading a lot about cold therapy recently. It takes a bit of courage first time; I started with barely warm, got in then added more cold over thirty minutes, and it did most definitely help. It gets easier to do the cold water with each bath, adapting apparently. I just made my first order of rc and mushroom, and hope I can begin to enjoy my retirement free of head pain.
  11. I'm new here, but I found magnesium supplements taken when the first sign of headache helps to mitigate the severity, and even sometimes stops, but not reliably. I just ordered a different form, magnesium taurate which is supposed to help if taken at onset. Just read about this at another site.
  12. I was reading about LSD and alcoholism in the NYTimes this morning--awake most of the night with a headache--which is how I found this site. I'm in my 60s, and thought by now my headaches would be gone, but they stay on. I would like to try psylocibin but don't know how to go about getting the right stuff to grow myself. Though I live in mushroom country here in eastern PA, and probably have seen them growing in my lawn. Any suggestions would be helpful. I tired of so much of my life given over to headaches. Though I must admit they are nothing now as bad as in my 20-40s. Still, maybe these new psychotropic experiments may lead to better solutions than Fiorinal with codeine and Maxalt; my standby treatments.
