  1. So, I have an annual physical in a few days and plan on getting my vitamin D, calcium, and PT hormone levels checked. I think I'm experiencing something called exercise induced allergies. Apparently, this happens more frequently than you would think. Since stopping, the awake time hits have stopped. Crazy thing is that I'm still running in place with O2 at 2am in the morning as it helps abort the attack quicker than anything else. Yet, lifting weights causes a really bad hit 2 hours after. Honestly, i'm so tired of guessing. Just tired and need relief.
  2. I use a lot of O2 and the only time I thought it was not effective is when the tank was near empty. I don't know why, but the first O2 from a full tank is much more effective than the bottom.
  3. I get this as well. When I feel it, I know that hit is gone and I can stop the O2.
  4. Let me start off by saying, I was a big skeptic of essential oils. I have a family member that I have joked with for years about her belief in it. Today, you can call me a believer. I first started getting CH 12 years ago and it has always been a 2-4 month cycle every 1.5 years. I started my cycle in December 2020 and did all of the usual things that I know work. D3, busting, etc. Still, I'm in month 5, which is not normal. One thing that has happened in the last 30 days is the frequency and pain level have decreased dramatically. So much that during the day, I only have shadows, albeit really bad ones on some days. There was an occasional 6 - 8 level hit in the evening. My issue is that I was consistently having a hit every 1.5 hours while sleeping. I was getting very little sleep and was terrified to take a nap during the day. While at the local rodeo/fair, I saw someone selling something called Migraine Buster (lots of essential oils). Normally, this is something I would silently laugh at and move on, but I decided to see what they had to offer. She applied it at the base of my skull, around the ears, across my temple and on my lower cheek. The smell was very strong. I had a decent headache at the time and didn't notice a difference, so I walked away thinking I had just wasted my time. Late that night, I woke up and had a small hit. I used the sample she gave me and put in the same locations with a bit more near my nose. I slept the rest of the night and woke up with zero pain. Typically, I get a hit when I wake and it is the worst of all of them. Fast forward 2 days and no hits at all. I assumed this was from a recent bust the day before the fair. I had forgotten about the migraine buster. As I expected, the hits slowly came back and I was getting very depressed at the thought that I was becoming chronic. Yesterday, I was running things through my head to try and remember what I had done beside the bust? Then I remembered that I had used the migraine buster late at night a week earlier. I thought I would try it again and asked my family member if she could make something similar. She made me a roller and I applied it in the same spots as before (don't get it in your eyes!). I was still very skeptical. As usual, I woke with a hit shortly after going to bed, but was able to get rid of it in less than 10 minutes. I slept the rest of the night and woke up with no pain. I've applied it every two hours today and only a small shadow here and there. I'm going to keep applying every two hours and will update this post tomorrow. Based on my experience with other treatments, this is almost miracle like. It is crazy how different I feel today vs yesterday. You can find the migraine buster here - https://www.floridasbest.com/product/migraine-buster. The website is really slow, so be patient. If you have someone that sells essential oils, I included a pic of the ingredient list and you can ask them to make a roller for you. I may be premature with this post, but I had to post this so someone could benefit. I'll update soon. Best wishes. Update (04/18/21 9:15pm CST) - I broke my no nap rule and took a nap this afternoon. Woke up with a hit around 3 or 4. Easy to abort, but disappointing. No shadows though, so I'm happy. Update (04/20/21 8:35am CST) - The last two nights have not been my friend. Hits every 2 hours with some taking up to an hour to abort. While I certainly believe that the essential oils are helping (especially with the shadows), it is obviously not a cure. I'll keep searching.
  5. So, my CH cycles go ever 1.5 years and typically last 3 months. This last one started in December and it is now mid-April. Still having nightly hits. Now into month 4. One thing that is different is that I started working out for an hour 5 days a week. I've lost 35 lbs, however, I've noticed that after really heavy workouts, my hits get worse for the next few days. For the last 5 days, I stopped working out and the pain level has decreased each day. Honestly, I'm afraid to work out again. I've read online that those with higher vitamin D levels benefit when lifting weights and wonder if my workouts are using up some of the D I've built up. BTW, I'm currently taking 90,000 iU/day. This is a high dose, but anything less results in more pain and more attacks. Have any of you seen research that weight lifting or cardio can deplete your vitamin D levels? Just trying to understand why my workouts make things worse.
  6. A few nights ago, during a very bad nocturnal hit, I tried running in place with O2. After being exhausted, I sat down and noticed the intense vessel constriction all over. I continued O2 while sitting and it ended quickly. I've done it every night since and believe it dramatically cuts down the time to abort. I admit, it would look pretty crazy to an outsider. 2am in my jammies, sucking O2 and running as fast as I can in place. I laugh at myself every time. But, hey, if it works, who cares.
  7. Batch, thank you for all of this information. I'll try to answer your questions below. Allergic Response - Yes, I agree and I've been taking 50mg of Benadryl every 4 hours. I'm even doing this when I wake up with a CH at 2 in the morning. BTW, the addition of Benadryl every 4 hours was hard to get used to as it initially made me very sleepy. I've since gotten used to it and drowsiness really isn't an issue anymore. It helps SIGNIFICANTLY with pain during the day. I can't imagine my day without it now. I have heard about the cognitive issues that may be related to long time use, and that does concern me if I am using this for more than a few months. Right now, I'm at 4 weeks of regular use. Quercetin - I saw your recommendation on a different post and have been taking a loading dose of 3000mg each day for the last 7 days. Today, I decreased it to 2000mg. Honestly, I haven't noticed a difference in # of attacks or pain intensity during this time. If anything, pain has gone up a bit. I've been taking it once a day during lunch with the big handful of pills I take. I didn't substitute this for Benadryl. Still taking Benadryl every 4 hours. Quest Test - I ordered the test without my doctor and my guess is that I got the cheap one as it just says > 150. I'll look for the other test. Funny thing is that Quest called me the next day to let me know how "dangerous" it was to have D3 levels that high. Calcium & PTH - Never had a test for these, but with the high D3 test results, I think it would be a good idea before I start pulsing at a bigger level. Thoughts? So here is where I'm at. D3 works very well. I know that if I stop taking it for 2 days, I have a major increase in attacks and pain level. This cycle is so much better than 18 months ago when I discovered the regimen. Pain level is manageable and I can abort most CH's with O2 quickly. Crappy sleep, but I can deal with that for a few months. I just want to be safe. I don't want to overdo the D3 and do damage to my bones and arteries. Should I get the Calcium and PTH lab test before increasing my D3? Any other suggestions?
  8. I've been on the D3 regimen for years. It has helped quite a bit with shadows and the intensity of attacks. Recently, I started a cycle again and started taking more D3 than my normal dose. I've been taking 40,000 IU for a week and things have gotten better, but not gone. Still have an average of 3 attacks at night, with most easy to abort with O2. Some take 30 minutes to get rid of. Anyway, I was a little worried about my vitamin D levels as I was taking quite a bit. So, I ordered a test and my results are below. Should I be worried? Do I need to reduce my D3 intake? i'm worried that the pain and number of attacks will increase if I do. Vitamin D,25 HIGH - Current Result > 150 ng/ml This was a test done through Quest Diagnostics.

Hi Ammo, I wanted to share my experience. Maybe it'll help! I have had two sinus surgeries and even had teeth pulled before I found that busting & D3 is legit. Last year, I was in the most horrible pain of my life with 3-4 attacks a day. These were level 10 headaches. I couldn't function and was ready to give up. I took the plunge and busted with LSH and that stopped the everyday cycle. It was quite dramatic. I would have erratic attacks, but they were different and not day consuming. I was terrified of trying it and it seemed wrong, but there's nothing like pain to get you to do things you would have never considered and I am glad I did as it stopped my 3 a day cycle. The attacks, however, were still there. Just less intensity and frequency. This is when I legitimately looked into the vitamin regimen. I experimented a lot and found that 15,000 IU of D3/day keeps me headache free. I remember the first week without a headache. I have had a headache every day of my life that I can remember. So much that I averaged 2-4 ibuprofen a day for the last 20 years. Not CH, but pain on a regular interval. After the D3, it changed. I remember telling my wife, this is the first time I can remember not having a headache. It's crazy how much you get used to it. Anyway, if I miss 2 days of the D3, I feel them coming back. So, long story short. Bust if you can!! Then do the D3 regimen daily but don't make it complicated. I experimented for 6 months and found the following to work for me: - 15,000 IU D3 daily. Must take during middle of lunch. My guess is absorption. If I take before or after a meal, I will feel it the next day. For me, taking it in the middle works best. - For me, the other vitamins didn't matter. I slowly eliminated each and found that the D3 alone was the only needed component. - The version of D3 you use is important. I tried many varieties but found that the only one that works is the basic GNC brand D3. Anyway, that's my take. Best of luck to you!
  10. Treelove, I too just tried the seeds 6 days ago and it has definitely changed things for me. No major hits since. Something you might want to try for the shadows is Claritin-D 24 hour. Go to any pharmacy. Ask for the generic 24 hour version of it. It is has to be the -D kind. I am taking one every evening and sometimes half of one during the middle of the day. Doesn't make you sleepy. For me, this and the seeds seem to make life almost normal again.
