emilyd911
Just curious as to what everyone's shortest cycle has been?
ChrisSelf
Two months is the shortest full cycle I've ever had. When Prednisone has worked, the cycles end almost immediately.

mit12
My shortest was around 35 hours with 5 hour long cluster events. It was worse than the standard 3 to 5 day a week cycles I normally had. I an glad to say I am still cluster free since November 20! Which was the day of my final bust day. I have done 2 maintenance doses because I was getting dull headaches in the 2 month durations. emilyd911
Thanks guys! I was just curious. What is prednisone?
spiny
Pred is a steroid that is often prescribed as a bridging med to get you thru until another med (often Verapamil) kicks in. It is prescribed most often as a taper - like 5 pills the first day 4 the next and on down. Sometimes a longer taper (10 days to 2 weeks) is given. It is not a drug you want to take for a long time due to the many side effects and eventual permanent bone damage. Like the kind where you now need a hip replacement or two!!! spiny
emilyd911
Does anyone experience nausa with their CH? This is new for me.
CHfather
Yes, some people get nausea (36% in one study), to the point of vomiting (17%). If you are able to find the full article of Rozen, "Cluster Headache in the United States of America" online, it will have answers to quite a few of your questions. I remember it being very hard to find the whole article and not just the abstract, and unfortunately this board doesn't allow for attachments (or I'd just attach my copy). Rozen also broke out the same data for a report on cluster headache among women. I don't think this is the most reliable study, for a number of reasons, but there were a lot of people who filled out the questionnaires. spiny
Emily, I have dealt with these off and on for some 40 plus years. I have only experienced nausea the last several years on a few occasions. I was unpleasantly shocked when that happened. So, not common for me, but sometimes I get that double whammy too. It sucks.
