BluesFan85
So I just got prescribed this and I'm also taking Verapamil. In the info that comes with the Nasal spray it says don't take if your taking other migraine medications. Can I not take this while I'm on verapamil? I'm pretty sure I'm okay but I just want some reassurance. Anyone else taking this know?
jon019
Yes...me. Prescribed by the best neuro I ever saw. verapamil up to 1020 mg/dy....stopped maybe 70% of hits...used Zomig NS (5 mg as the last resort "rescue med"). 99% effective with no rebounds and NO negative reaction with verap. If you can afford it.... I HIGHLY recommend.
CHfather
Verapamil/triptan verapamil/zomig seems like a very common prescription. No negative verap/zomig interaction identified at www.drugs.com. I guess you could call your local 24-hour pharmacy to be like quadrupally sure.

spiny
Hey Jon, does that mean that we are hoarders? I have found that expiration date to be bogus too. Even asked my pharmacist friend about it. It is important for some meds, but not nearly all of them.

BluesFan85
What's an expiration date? Yeah I'm never to worried about something that's expired as long as it's not that old. So I've been hesitant haven't used any of the sprays till now. Early early this morning I got an brutal attack and early afternoon. I feel one coming on now so I'm trying the nasal spray, god I hope this works. Been about 5 minutes since I took it I'm hoping in 10-15 minutes I'm completely okay
Pixie-elf
The other migraine medications it's referring to are other triptans, or dihydroergotamine. As they can have a very severe reaction if taken together and cause a heart attack. Taking your preventative, and abortive is just fine. Zomig's generic name is Zolmitriptan, so, you don't want to take any other medication that ends with 'triptan' close together with it, is all that it's warning you about.
