Pebblesthecorgi
As studies progress we will have a better understanding of these molecules in the treatment of traditionally challenging conditions. Avoiding a once size fits all simplistic approach is paramount. Its easy to get the impression that you can use these substances without direction to address emotional or psychiatric disorders. While going it alone has appeal and is some cases it may work for certain folks the preliminary experience suggests a programmatic approach will yield consistent results. Of course there are lots of variables and we still need to see the studies presented. With unbridled enthusiasm organizations like Compass are putting together programs, patenting approaches (and drugs) in an effort to commoditize care. Our discussions of psychedelics are a bit different because CH may be more amenable to self treatment because of the receptor theories and no direct need for guided therapy. In the end anything that makes these drugs more accessible and safe helps us all
Spacekitty
Thank you for the vid XXX! Psilocybin, among other classic hallucinogens, has so much to offer other than relief from CH's (which is a damn good remedy). There is a myriad of mental health issues that psilocybin can relieve. For deeper reading check out the incredible newish book "How To Change Your Mind," by Michael Pollock (a journalist). He explains the up-to-date neuroscience research of psychedelics and theories on how and why they are beneficial for different issues. Particularly, how psychedelics disrupt our Default Mode Network, DMN- that is the broken record that plays in our head that we've evolved to operate more efficiently but can become rigid and create mental health problems. I propose that psilocybin may help relieve CH's as a indirect effect of the dismantled DMN. As our condition is theorized to be associated with a hypothalamus abnormality-the brain structure that is responsible for managing our body's rhythms/systems-psychedelics might serve to "re-set" our cycle or rhythm so that we can take the reins and bypass our seasons perpetually. There is so much more to be learned about our condition and the psychedelics that can help it! https://michaelpollan.com/books/how-to-change-your-mind/
