Wow, kick backs are a <insert swear word of your choice>. Busted with shrooms Friday night, and have been in Hell nearly ever since. Clusters are longer, stronger, coming at more erratic times and more times a day than my average for the last few months. I'm trusting on the saying that things gotta get worse before they get better. And I know this is a good sign, as my normal routine is being shaken at its foundations. It just hasn't been a very nice few days though. My plan is to bust again this week, maybe Friday, maybe Thursday. And keep busting till I kill it, or run out of shrooms.

My pleasure Dan. Anything I can do to give back to everyone who has helped me.

mmmmmm, coffee filter. Good idea. Thanks. I weighed up what I have today, and I have enough shrooms for 5 more doses. Now that I've, somewhat successfully, grown my first batch. Am going to look at planting a second batch soon. And I should yield a larger crop from that one.

Hi K-bo, I can't answer your imitrex question, have never used it. But thought I'd add (just a little) to the already wonderful comments above about going chronic. I believe, if I remember correctly, that the definition for being chronic is something like having gone 1 year or longer with no remission periods. In 2010, I had a mere 63 clusters, and my cycles were pretty much 2-3 weeks apart. At the start of 2011 I went chronic, and had 258 clusters that year, getting 1-5 every 2-3 days. That lasted a year and a bit, untl I started busting. Since busting, I've had PF gaps of 20 days or longer, and I rarely get more than 2 in one day. Am now on my 3rd course of busting, hoping to finally put the demon to rest. So hang in there. There are solutions. You just have to find the one that works for you, and perhaps educate your doctor along the way. Renee

Ah, good point. Dried. I think it would be closer to 10grams fresh. Have had mine under a fan for a number of days.

Thanks Bj. The tea seems to work really well for me. The process I use is: Brew about 2/3 a cup of peppermint tea (200ml) While that is brewing, chop up the shrooms (1.4 or 1.5 grams) Add some lemon juice to the tea, but not too much. Pour 1/2 the tea into a cup with the chopped shrooms. Let brew for 10 minutes Strain into a fresh cup. Put the bits of shroom back into the cup, and add the 2nd half of the tea Let sit for 5-10 minutes, then strain into the first half of the tea. Drink quickly. Basically, I let the shrooms brew twice using 1/2 of the total tea each time. Meanwhile, it is cooling enough that I can drink it quickly and reduce some of the taste. I've seen where you can buy empty tea-bags, designed for people who want to make their own tea, and put it in bags. I've thought about doing this with shrooms. Might make the brewing process easier.

I busted for the first time from my own crop of shrooms last night. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because I love the idea that I'm growing my own medicine, and it is several times better than anything the doctors ever gave me. OK, let's be accurate here. This stuff actually works! But, I didn't know the potency of this strain of shrooms, and the first one I cut up last night, was also covered in spores. There were just a few unknowns, and I hate unknowns. But, it all went perfectly well. I made mushroom peppermint tea with 1.4 grams of shroom. No stomach upset or a bad trip. Like always, I setted down to watch a film, and like always for me, the greens were very bright and noticable. When I went to bed, I slept really well, as I normally do on shrooms or seeds (unless I have a few drinks beforehand). I had a couple clusters during the bust, minor ones. But that is pretty normal for me anyway. I think I'm going to bust weekly for about 6-8 weeks, and see if I can FINALLY completely stop the clusters, at least for awhile. Thanks again to everyone for your help. I can't even bare to think where I would be mentally if you guys weren't here. Renee

Hipshot, thanks for posting and alerting us to this rubbish. I've just visited their site and watched the video clip. My first thought on opening their webpage was - airbrush much? Seems these doctors are more concerned about looking good on TV than good medicine. Also, I have NEVER heard them called alarm clock headaches. Many of us consider the title 'cluster headache' to be lame beyond believe, alarm clock headaches make them sound even more minor. What clueless people. Renée

Hi, Found this radio program on the BBC, interesting. It's talking about using LSA and mushrooms for clusters. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00trr2l/Health_Check_27_06_2012/

Brain freeze triggered a small cluser today. That's just not fair. Renee

So, I don't think my first attempt at shroomery went so well. Has been over a month now, and no sign of development in the jars. Oh well, shall try again. However, my clusters seem to be returning, or settling into an Episodic pattern (was chronic for over a year). So have ordered some RC Seeds and going to give that a go for 4 or 5 doses, and see if I can put the demon out of business completely. I ordered my seeds from http://www.alternativemind.co.uk/ in England. Delivery was REALLY fast, which I appreciated, and the prices not bad. I opened my first pack of 76 seeds, and 27 (35%) of them were floaters. Seems a higher percentage than I had before. Will see how the other packs are in the coming weeks. In other news.... I have left the world of General Manager of my own consultancy business, and have accepted a permanent role at a company on the West side of London. Shall be moving that way once I get my finances on track. Hope everyone is winning against their demons. Renée

I read the title of your thread, and the first thought to enter my mind was: Legitimate or Effective. You can't seem to have both. But, perhaps, one day if we can change the laws, we might.

21:50, New Years Eve, 2006, I got a headache. I was really emotional that evening, upset that I was staying home alone while many of my friends were out celebrating the new year. I've since learned that strong emotions are one of my triggers. That headache lasted 7 months, right into July. Daily Chronic Headache my GP called it. But for me it was quite literally non-stop. I think in all those months, I had 3 days, or parts of days, where I was blissfully pain free. 2 Jan 2007, I had a bad migraine, if I remember correctly. It was certainly in that first week of the new year. But Jan/Feb are always bad migraine months for me, so I wasn't surprised when I started getting them weekly for 2-3 months. But mixed in with the migraines was something else. At first it would, more often than not, hit me at 7pm on Tuesdays, or skip 7 and hit at 7:20pm. Sometimes on a Wednesday too, but usually Tuesday. The pain was unreal! But it wasn't always at this time, sometimes in the afternoon or morning too. These would last an hour or so, and were intermingled with the migraines and daily chronic. When they hit on my right side, they were unbearable, but that was nothing compared to when they hit on my left side, which was probably 30% of the time. The left side of my body has always been more sensitive than my right, so the pain there was doubled or triple the other clusters. I was diagnosed quickly, by February if I remember correctly. In March I saw a neurologist and, although it took a year or so to figure this out, we suspect it was the hormones I took to change my body from male to female. The neuro suspects my hypo was pre-determined to have clusters, and when we upset it by changing my hormone system, and greatly reducing my testosterone, it triggered them off. I'm not so sure I agree. I had been taking one brand of hormones for nearly a year with no problem. It was only a few months after my doctor changed the type of hormone that I was taking did the headaches start. I think it has more to do with the particular oestrogen I was on, than the change to my hypothalamus. But that is neither here or there. Screwing with my hormones awoke the beast. 2007 will always be 'the year of Hell' for me. For 7 months I went from one level of pain to another, and back again. On August 1st, I flew to Thailand and had the surgery I had been working towards for years. The headaches got better after that. Not great, just better. Renée PS I'm not advocating sex-change as a way to make the pain better. LOLÂ

Did "suicide headaches" claim another life?

Good study. My heart goes out to Frank's family. -
No worries. I've sidetracked my share of threads. Many congrats

Your wife sounds like a wonderful woman, keep her! LOL I've never had the confusion or dizziness with head pain before. That sounds pretty intense! If I get too hungry, I lose all ability to make decisions, even what or where to eat becomes a challenge. And, getting to hungry used to also trigger migraines, but not so much anymore. Renee

Thanks

Hi, I have two topics in this post. Not out to confuse anyone. First off, a question. I've just loaded a dozen small jars with spores and have placed them in a warm place. At this stage in the process, is sunlight good, or sunlight bad? On another topic, although probably of more interest to UK residents than anyone else. I have a very good friend who is a cop here in the UK. She knows quite a lot about drug laws, and is on a special 'home search' team. As such, she comes across illegal substances quite often, and knows how the police deal with them. Also, she is a sinus headache sufferer. So, although not clusters, she fully appreciates how bad mine are. Last night we got talking about headaches, as we do, and I mentioned the new cure for my clusters, and how it was helping my migraines and headaches too. I know her well enough to know she wouldn't have a problem with it (no risk of being arrested on the spot or anything). But, she did explain a few interesting things for me, and I thought I'd share them. Cannabis, is a class B drug in the UK. As such, if a cop catches you growing it, it falls into one of two categories. 'Cultivating' or 'Producing'. Cultivating is when you are just growing a few plants for your own use. It is up to the cop, usually, and how many previous warnings you've had, to either charge you or give you a caution (and take the plants of course). If you are growing so much that you are producing it for sale, then you will automatically be arrested and charged. Also, cannabis has about 10% LSA in it, and the latest thing on the street are people extracting the LSA, and selling cannabis that is 100% LSA! Now, onto shrooms. In the UK, mushrooms are a Class A drug, which means if you are caught with them, you will be charged. No chance of a warning, even on a first offence. Being charged means you have to go before the courts. That said, there isn't a booming mushroom trade here, and cops aren't knocking down doors looking for dealers. She said if I keep things quiet, just grow enough for myself, I shouldn't ever have a problem. Which I totally expected to be the case. Thought it might be interesting FYI stuff. Renée

Thanks guys. I made it through the evening without being hit, well, hard anyway. Had some shooting type headaches. Got his little on the way home. But, in bed now. Haven't slept in my bed for days, always good to come back home. And nothing to get up for in the morning except a bit of archery practice. xx Renee

I've had only one day this week that was headache free, and today was the worst of the lot. A couple doses of a pain killer with codene that didn't help, then finally a triptan knocked it on the head. But,........ I'm at a friends tonight, a little dinner party of sorts. And although I'm headache free, I find I'm VERY sensitive to smells and touch. I feel almost claustophobic with everyone around, and am finding hugs very invasive. Not my normal self. Just wondering, mostly to myself, if this is a post migraine thing, or a pre cluster attack thing. Guess I'll find out as the night progresses. Renee

I only like the Strawberry Poptarts, toasted or cold. Although, last time I had them they were a bit on the sugary side. In Scotland, they deep-fry anything and everything. Deep-fried Mars Bars and Snickers is a speciality. Renee

Is anyone aware of this site? If not, it looks like a good resource. The description of the page reads like this: On this page we have posted information about psychedelic research around the world that is not conducted by MAPS. Our current studies are found on the other pages in the R&D Medicines section. The studies listed here are limited to those in which psychedelics are administered to human subjects. Studies that focus on comparing psychedelic drug users to non-users of drugs are generally not included, nor are animal studies. http://www.maps.org/research/ Renee

Cluster wise, really good. No need to worry, there really seldom is. In reality, I rarely have clusters when I'm out and about, but often worry about it. I've had a lot of headaches lately though, and a minor cluster while drive to London today. Archery - shooting wise - not that great. Was a very cold, windy day, with a bit of rain. Not the best shooting conditions. And, I've been so busy lately I haven't been shooting as often as I like. But, I enjoyed it and it was a good day out. Was nice to shoot outside again after months of shooting in doors. I wish I could shoot more, it is very relaxing and requires a lot of focus.

OK, another question for everyone. Do you worry, when going to an event, or even just work, what would happen if you got attacked while there? I have an all-day archery competition in a few hours. I had just experienced over 2 weeks cluster free. But had a bad one 2 nights ago, and a headache off and on ever since. Not a good sign for me, so I'm stressing over having a cluster while trying to shoot. Just curious if other people fret over such things too. Renée
