  1. Start here. DD's busting instructions for newbies http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1298051922 Set and setting, I can't say enough about it. Attitude and assistance. Do you have a good friend that has experience with these? Nothing better than a good baby sitter. Read up, ask questions. FG
  2. Lets really talk. A great chance to learn more and ask you questions. Chicago Conference, September 16, 2011 http://www.clusterbusters.com/convention6.html
  3. Gee, thanks Doc: Quote: Goadsby points to shortcomings in the research, however. "These are just a few patients in a completely unblinded study; you would certainly expect some placebo effect," he says. Indeed, Goadsby has done a double-blind study comparing pure oxygen and air in the treatment of cluster headache. Twenty percent of the patients treated with air, the placebo, reported pain reduction. Because cluster headaches can occur in episodes and then vanish again for months or years, it is also difficult to distinguish a drug's long-term effect from normal attack patterns, Goadsby cautions. --- 6 for 6 in the BOL trial, 100%.  20% placebo for oxygen.  Wish he might comment on the amazing results and tremendous promise of BOL treatment and how it can change people's lives in the long run, rather than spewing medical placebo, temporary relief and then talk about his own study.  > "Still," he says, "this is an interesting study, and it certainly warrants further investigation." ----ain't that nice. FG
  4. Thinking here now (dangerous but I'll risk it. lol) Thinking of ending the Sunday session with a panel discussion:     Ask The Experts - Tips, Techniques and Troubleshooting. This session would involve a group of knowledgeable people in several areas such as psilo/lsd, seeds, growing, etc. While there will not be time to go into full detail of every topic, the experts could answer some questions directly and provide links to more information. So I'm looking for not only ideas on other topics you might like to hear and areas for the discussion but expert volunteers too. (please don't volunteer someone without asking them first) Post your thoughts here or PM me. We'll consider all ideas and see what we can fit in. Thanks FG
  5. Have you read through these sections: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1298051922 http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290127865 http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cb/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1290128444 More information than I can write in a reply. Detox is really important, so is preparing yourself. Good luck and please keep us posted. FG
  6. Bringing them is fine also. Thank you. If you could, email or PM me and let me know what you might/are bringing so we can plan ahead for time allotment and such. Not a problem if you can't, it just makes life a bit easier. :-) FG
  7. Confirmed head count? Tingeling and me. ;-) Kidding. But I don't have a confirmed number yet, registrations are still coming in. (hoping for 50 +) Can I see a show of hands please?? Who is coming?? That reminds me to check, when the hotel cut off date is. FunGuy
  8. This thread is getting a bit off topic, but lmao that was just too damn funny. FG
  9. Thanks to Tom for sending this to me, a site with some great article and viewpoints: http://entheology.com/ Cluster Headache is mentioned in many articles here: http://entheology.com/?s=cluster+headache Enjoy. FG
  10. Like Matt, I too look forward to the celebration on the other side. Micheal, I admire and respect you for your decision to go this route and wish you the best. I offer the words of others who speak far better than I can and I trust you'll find strength in these and draw on them as you need. We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot. - Eleanor Roosevelt If you're going through hell, keep going. -Winston Churchill Best Doug
  11. Fireface: Welcome to the board. Sorry, this thread got hijacked. I had to do a little house cleaning. :-) Carry on. FG

    WV

    WV

Anyone in WV area? I've been talking with a guy, complex mixed headaches. He's in some trouble. He's looking for more advice than I (or anyone) can give over the phone. Thanks FG
  14. Are we just about done agreeing? :-( Shocked posted an article, thanks Shocked. Informative discussion about psychedelics and MDMA. The potential for MDMA is amazing in my opinion, and that is based on listening to the research leaders talk about it and their studies (at a MAPS conference, San Jose in 2010). I was impressed and truly enthralled with their work. Knowledge arises from those willing to ask the questions. There will always be debate and opinions, there was when the discussion about using psilo for CH first came up. Yes, that convo got nasty at times, yet we all find ourselves here now, talking about it and trying to help others. Questions, knowledge and maybe some answers. The goal has always been to help others. Several hundreds, maybe thousands of people in pain have been helped. Is this thread helping? I dunno. I value everyone's comments, but lets keep it nice. FG
  15. Thanks for the idea. I looked through the yabb forum, there is nothing there for mobile support. Yet. FG
  16. Dan, ya know we love you.  But LMAO, that is the best one-liner I've ever read.  :-)

    R C Seeds

Hi Kika. These seeds, Rivea Corombosa (RC) and Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (HBW) all contain LSA, these terms are used interchangeably in the threads others have pointed out. I get mine through mail order from this company:Â http://www.urbanshaman.net/ They are based in Vancouver and only ship in Canada, I've been very happy with their service. You could also do a google search for either Rivea Corombosa seeds or Hawaiian Baby wodrose seeds, adding a nearby big city to the search. Good to see you posting, sorry you have to be here. FG

  22. Saturday day trip for spouses or companions:Â If there is enough interest we may be able to arrange a Saturday day trip by train or other means (at a slight cost) to the Navy Pier and/or downtown Chicago (Sears Tower or whatever they call it now). We should be able to arrange for a Tour Guide to accompany the group. Maybe there are other trips that would be of interest? Lets open a discussion here and we'll see what we can do! FG
  23. Updated speakers and presentations. Just confirmed for the 2011 Clusterbuster conference in Chicago: Dr. Larry Robbins:  http://www.headachedrugs.com/ Lawrence Robbins, M.D. is considered to be one of the top 10 experts in the country on management of headache medications. His books, Headache Help and Mangement of Headache and Headache Medications have been very well reviewed, and both are bestsellers. Dr. Robbins also discusses non-medication strategies, as well as alternative treatments (herbs, exercise, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc.). Dr. Robbins has his practice in Northbrook, Illinois. The Robbins Headache Clinic has a reputation as being one of the top places in the United States to go for help with headaches. Dr. John Halpern: Dr. Halpern is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Harvard Medical School and a Director of the Laboratory for Integrative Psychiatry at McLean Hospital. He has completed his Psychiatry Residency at Harvard Longwood and a 3-year Fellowship in Drug and Alcohol Abuse Research at McLean’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Research Center. Dr. Halpern is Board Certified in General Psychiatry and is also the Associate Director of Substance Abuse Research of McLean's Biological Psychiatry Laboratory. He is currently leading MDMA-assisted experimental psychotherapy sessions for patients with severe anxiety related to advanced-stage cancer diagnosis. Dr. Halpern has been working closely with Clusterbusters for many years plus now and this collaboration has led to the first publication on the use of psilocybin and LSD for cluster headache, the first cluster headache specific headache diary (available for free at the home page of Clusterbusters), and the discovery of Bromo-LSD (BOL) as a potential non-hallucinogenic treatment of CH.  Ms. Teri Robert: Author of "Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches" Teri is a well-known patient advocate, and was awarded the National Headache Foundation's Patient Partners Award in 2004 for her "ongoing patient education, support and advocacy." She is the Support Advisor for MAGNUM, the National Migraine Association and an advocate for the American Diabetes Association. Her first book, "Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches," published by HarperCollins, was released in 2005 and remains a top selling book in the field. Teri appeared on CNN Headline News Channel, during Prime News Tonight, in an educational segment about Migraine disease. She has also written for "The Pain Practitioner," the quarterly magazine of the American Academy of Pain Management, and currently writes patient education articles for the Texas Pain Society. Oxygen: Life Gas, The Linde Group Life Gas will be a major sponsor at this year’s conference. They are the developers of the O2Ptimask System, the best mask available in the opinion of most every user. (Available through the stores at ch.com) http://www.lifegas.com/gas_devices_and_therapies/o2ptimask.asp Life Gas will be sponsoring a presentation on the practical use of oxygen for cluster headache. Whether or not you have used oxygen before to treat your cluster headache, you’ll want to see this demonstration. They have also generously agreed to supply oxygen tanks for use during the conference.
  24. The 2011 Conference will be held at the Sheraton Gateway Suites Chicago O'Hare Hotel, 6501 North Mannheim Rd. · Rosemont, IL This is just outside O’Hare airport. The hotel has a free shuttle from O’Hare. A few people have expressed interest in flying into Midway and making their way to the conference hotel. Should you be considering this option, I have some information that may help. While it may be less expensive for you to fly into Midway, you will need to consider the additional cost of getting to the hotel. I encourage anyone flying into Midway to post here and see if others are arriving at the same time and you may be able to share a ride to the hotel. There are several ways to get from Midway to the Hotel: Private Transportation: There are many private operators, here are a few: (note: none of us has used these, so they are unverified by ClusterBusters) http://www.omegashuttle.com/fees_fares.htm http://www.chicagotraveler.com/chicago_airport_shuttle.htm Train System: his is a good summary found on the web, with links to the CTA sites http://www.mrl.ucsb.edu/~yopopov/directions/mdw-ord.html This link gets you back the other way: http://www.mrl.ucsb.edu/~yopopov/directions/ord-mdw.html The Chicago Department of Aviation his this information, with link to the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) http://flychicago.com/PassengerInformation/GroundTransportation/TransportationBetweenOHareAndMidway.aspx Hope this helps.
  25. Thanks Shocked. Old articles but certainly good ones. From the second article in 1993: "the patient will often be relieved to learn that bizarre behavioural responses are not a mark of insanity." That's very good to know I'm not insane. At time's I've wondered. ;-) FG
