The long  hard road to recovery  has just started today

Long and hard for sure. Doable with love, passion and persistence indeed! You have been there with her since day one and will see the reward when she walks out of there. Daily prayers for you and yours.

  2. These were the few threads that I was speaking about in my first response to this thread. I honestly do not think that it is just COVID that can cause an onset of CH, but more so any illness that depletes your system. Both my husband and I had COVID a while back and it did not trigger a cycle for me. I am uncertain if that is due to the fact that I had been on the D3 regimen for quite some time prior to contracting it so maybe my levels did not get depleted as badly and I got through it in about five days. My husband was another story. He is not good about taking supplements (unless I serve them to him) and no he is not a cluster head but he was down for nearly 2-weeks with terrible headaches, fever and body aches.  All this is just my opinion and we all know what that counts for;)

  3. So for the last few months (ever since upping my D game to the full  Monte). My nose has been so dry that it is cracked and bleeding and hurts to wiggle... (Really sucks if you need to bewitch someone).. Anyhoo I was reading that antihistamines can cause the nasal passage to dry out to this extent. I had been using neosporin but it didn't help. I switched to Vaseline and it has done wonders! I also read that it traps allergens so that's a plus. I most certainly feel like I owe a ton to this regimen as my last attack was on the third of July.. a one off I hope! I have been due for a cycle for a month and some change but nope nada. I suppose what I'm getting at is that if your gonna go full Monte you may benefit from Vaseline to the nostrils...

Oh come on @BoscoPiko, you'll be missing all the fun and exhilaration. :D

LOL I'm good Jeebs. I love you guys but I know when I'm out ranked:P Poor Titan was just looking for 4/hrs. of sleep and look at all this info he got! (I mean that admiringly) because even with a little bicker & banter the info is good!

    • My PCP gave me a Dexamethasone steroid shot to “break the cluster” but it didn’t seem to do make any changes except give me a dull headache for 2 days. Does anyone have any recommendations to break this cycle? I am going to the doctor today or tomorrow and would like to request something different to try and am looking for advice. I’m the past she’s tried prednisone but I don’t know how effective that was either.
    • How long should I continue the d3 vitamin regimen once my CH cycle has ended?
    • Are neurologists allowed to decline patients from paying out of pocket? I was willing to pay our local, highly-ranked neurologist organization out of pocket for my visits since they wouldn’t accept my insurance but they said they wouldn’t even allow me to self-pay and canceled the appointment. And it’s not like they’re not taking on new patients. Seemed odd and discriminatory to prevent care.

I don't know much about steroids other than you most likely don't want to continue them often. As far as breaking your cycle you might want to check out the blue ribbon at the top of each forum page "new users please read here first" sometimes we have to go outside of the typical treatments provided to us by Doctors/health care providers. As for your second question regarding the D3 regimen, I see no reason to discontinue it even when out of cycle, nothing wrong with a well boosted immune system!  Lastly being declined health services even when willing to pay out of pocket does seem discriminatory. Maybe try and find a headache specialist center as they would be more likely to help you than even a high ranked neuro... On a final note I wonder what would happen if you just told them that you don't have insurance?

  6. I would think that Covid possibly depleted your D levels and opened the door for the cluster bunny. There have been a few reports of attacks after contracting Covid and I think one or two after the vax. I would bolster up your system with the D3 regimen and since you were recently sick maybe do a loading session first.

Wow. :o Man that seems outrageous. It must have been a hell of a sticker shock moment when you checked out at GNC. I'll hope you may find equivalent stuff, cheaper, as you return to online ordering (or maybe Costco?).

It was jeeb .. I hesitated to swipe my card. I was out so I swiped..

  8. I'm sure this is not just a me thing.. But I ran out of a few supplements today which I'm normally very good about keeping on auto order. Made an emergency trip to GNC and 2 bottles of COq10, 2 bottles of curcumin cost me $295.00. I'm a comfortable person financially but this is unreal! At this rate it will be costing upwards of $1,200 every 2 months for me to continue the full Monte reg... I am just feeling defeated and like my health costs are going to rob me from any thing else I get to do with my funds.. I have Kaiser insurance ( a platnum plan ) but they refuse to cover any natural supplements?? I'm just angry at the moment.  I suppose this makes me even more angry because I know how tight money is these days for not so comfortable folks! Sorry for the rant you guys I'm just peeved....

I second Spiny's WOW - seems like just yesterday you announced the near completion of green house construction, and now full on crops! Some nice lady bugs too (if I remember correctly that they can be desirable company for keeping bad pests at bay). :)

Thanks Jeeb! I had just released a batch of lady bugs (you can purchase them) and yes they eat all kinds of bad stuff and are 100% non toxic LOL...

correcting some of the grammar issues.

No big deal and thank you for the info. I have been on the keto lifestyle of eating for years (well prior to it's popularity). Unfortunately it has never done anything for my CH but everyone is different and I am happy you have found something that has helped you! Like Spiny said "If it's safe and works for you" keep it up!

    incredibly nice greenhouse etc.

The greenhouse is producing quite nicely and was doing so well before I left..... Unfortunately the gal that I hired to pet sit and water my outside and deck plants did not pay attention when I showed  her how to access the water and she accidentally turned the water off to the timers in the greenhouse which also feeds the evaporative cooler :( Fortunately the motor did not blow and most of the plants survived a few 103 degree days but I lost all my seedlings and a very nice bell pepper plant.. I had to do a little clean up of the dead leaves here and there but it is back to beautiful.. Oh and @spiny I do have a lovely captains chair in there with a cup holder and reading/writing platform. Sometime I just sit in there and relax. I don't think you can see the chair in the picks as the plants block it but here are a few update picks since the last ones..   I can't believe that the site is letting me upload so much! That file size issue must be fixed..?

  13. Hi everyone,

I made it home and through the wedding without a banger:P I thought for sure I would get hit but I made a batch of seeds the day after getting there and I think that's what got me through as I was getting some pretty bad warning signs on the way there but it all worked out. Don't like being there much but I made the best of it and i even got a chance to have dinner with my childhood best friend..

I've hidden that double post @BoscoPiko

Meantime they say you can't go back, but sometimes it is also "you shouldn't go back" - sorry it is bad memories-ville USA there :(. Here's hoping any future trips to the coast can be to fresh new places for making good new memories.

Weird (and awful!) that spikes to the left mean an imminent doozy to the right. Still hoping you can still somehow dodge that cluster bunny bullet though.

    Beautiful pic!

Your the best jeebs. I'm gonna be A OK. This place is just hard for me in all its beauty.. haven't been back here in years and it just feels off. I'm praying that I make it through the wedding and brought a small stash of seeds with me in an effort to double up my ability to be a part of this special event..
