Hello,

Been a smoker for the last 35 years. It's the only vice I have still not given up.

Is there any evidence to suggest that giving up on smoking would benifit a cluster headache sufferer?

Has anyone benefitted here on this forum from quitting smoking?

I used to be episodic but seem to have turned chronic. Have only had a couple of days off in the last 6 months.

Would love to know.

Lots of love.

I don't think there is any solid evidence that it helps. While it would benefit you in other ways I don't believe it would do much to help with CH. I quit a few years back by using the juul and gradually lowering the nicotine. Did noda for my CH.

I quit 3 years ago and it did not help at all. None of my research supports the idea that quitting would help, but it did state that a higher percentage of CHers smoke than the general public.

was a smoker for almost 20 years, haven't touched a cigarette in over 12. didn't do jack sh*t for my ch.

what i personally suspect is: if you have won the genetic lottery and are a ch "candidate" it's best not to start smoking at all. once you have "the damage is done". makes no difference if you quit or not. but that's just a very personal opinion and not a fact that can be proven.

Thanks for your inputs. And if it's not going to help, I'm not going to be tough on myself then:)

Love and regards
