  1. As ive said in a previous post on a different subject when im at home my attacks are regular every 3 hours but im relaxed at home . When im at work im highly stressed and that seems to keep the beast away . So I'd say that changes the times of my attacks for some reason . I have stayed awake all night to try to reduce my attacks as that when i get hit with my worst attacks but it didn't wirk for me 0135 every morning the beast would hit me with aa 3 hour kipp 10 kicking me round my bedroom . Got to the stage where I'd set my arlarm for midnight so i could go down stairs so didnt wake the rest of family up

  2. We can't stop this intrusion. We can only learn how to live with un wanted pain. It's all crooked and I have no clue. We are lucky to see the sun. We are cursed with pain and I don't know why but there must be a reason. I douse myself in the thought that this burden is mine because I'll deal. I would never want anyone I love to deal with this and maybe just maybe it's what keeps them un affected.. who knows. I am religious and pray every night for this madness to be only on me . We don't know the cure so onwards we must go.

  5. For what it is worth, when I did the DHE protocol in hospital, it scrambled my usually predictable times. Kept them scrambled for several weeks.

  8. Nah it’s more like you have the courage to fight and aren’t selfish to do that to your family! Please try and find a doc for oral and nasal ketamine. Have you tried busting or the vitamin D protocol. It works for most people!

  9. If I nap, I get woke up with a hit and will generally continue to get hit at that time for the duration of the cycle. Never tried changing times and staying awake does not stop hits for me. How about daylight savings? Does that wack everyone’s cycle and hit times? Will you have the same hits just an hour earlier? Last time I went through a clock change, my cycle got worse and the hits adjusted to the same basic times after a week or so… weird shit.

  10. This topic is relevant to me at the moment as well. 21st year as a cluster head. The only treatment that has ever worked for me was high doses of prednisone, but does not work anymore and caused me to become diabetic. I am episodic amid get hit the same time every year with 3 years being mild and manageable and the fourth being a battle on every level. I am two months in to a bad cycle 7-9 hits a day with 2-3 total hours of sleep. I just took emgality with no effect, in fact, I think a couple hits are more intense since the injections and I had a mild allergic reaction. I work as a high school assistant principal and athletic director. Have not worked since the start of the cycle. FMLA gives me 12 more weeks before I lose my job and insurance. Hoping the cycle ends before then, but if the pattern holds, it won’t end until May/June. I obviously am not safe to perform my duties and can’t do them from home. So, the added stress of potential income and insurance loss sure does not help my efforts to battle these things. Looking for options at the moment, but it is going to have to be a home business that I manage as no one else is going to hire me at my age (53). Was thinking about disability, disability retirement and the like, but it is so difficult to get. Actually, it is easier if you have migraine, tension headache or anxiety. I have 2 of the three with cluster cycles, but still too difficult to get. Unfortunately, I too have had negative thoughts. I thought about getting a little better life insurance policy and having an accident so my family would be taken care of. Honestly, I think about that at least two times a day/night during kip 9-10 attacks. I do not have the courage to follow through. There are so many things I want to see/experience and I know what it is like to have a parent commit suicide as my father did when I was 4 yo. Anyway, maybe all us clusterheads should band together and start our own business of some type…lol Sorry to ramble, thanks for listening. It is 2:30am and I am between hits. Have a good night y’all.

  12. I've never tried to deliberately change attack time (I like routine). However I have noticed a few outside elements that have changed them. Unlike Jon my attacks can be started with stress, for instance getting into an argument about something you feel strongly about with someone you care about or a random night with foul sleep. When in cycle I get multiple attacks a day starting between 10 to 11 am lasts for one to two hours then back from 3 to 4pm. But if I'm stressed they come at a random. This also happens when not in cycle if induced by the above mentioned..

  13. I I can say that I have personally aborted attacks with vigorous exercise, as in all out sprints, but only during the short lived ramp up phase of my cycles, when I could also potentially abort with things like breathing freezing cold air or 10-15 LPM O2.

  14. Bosco, some do benefit highly from exercise during certain times to stop a hit. You might be surprised that the number of CHers' that find pain relief from exercising. And there are those who will get hit immediately if they try to work out. So, it is a toss up. Nice that it worked for you! Ip3, I have not observed this, but perhaps others have experienced it!
