dunno ,, here's another thought ,, if inhaled Nitro-glycerin can cause a CH in people that suffer from CH,, then what happens when someone who doesn't suffer from CH's inhales it ? what would it do to them ? and why ?

So I mentioned something I had been thinking about on another post but it has popped to the top of my head more than once so thought I would bring it up here just wanting to know what people think. SO you all know my sons CH's come with other symptoms, mostly allergy symptoms, post nasal drip, acid reflux,, itchy eyes etc. After reading an article CHFather posted about a certain tree causing a CH in one particular person I went back to my original thought that some allergen or other gets inhaled causing irritation to the sphenopalatine ganglion and or vagus nerve. Now heres a thought ,, everyone is allergic to something different, me its Thompson Grass,, (doc did a blood allergy test on me ,, maybe people here should see if their GP would do one as well). Im also allergic to clams,, bill might be allergic to cat hair and sue house mold etc. Then I started thinking ,, maybe the reason some people get CH's and others don't Is how the ganglion/nerves are positioned. ie. if the ganglion is closer to the sinus cavity in CH sufferers than normal people ,, so it gets irritated in CH sufferers and not in other people. I'd like to add ,, that my son has some mal formations on his right side that are visible ( I wll try to remember to take a picture and share) which may lead creedance to this thinking.  Once irritated in Chronics it takes the seeds or other to calm it down. random thinking I don't know if anyone has done any studies on where the ganglion and nerves are situated in CH's verses norms.. just sayin

CHF you don't have to worry about hijacking ,, cuz I did .. so as long as we are talking about this (or at least I am) I have been wondering if the difference between people who suffer CH's and those that don't is how close to the back of the sinus cavity the ganglion lie. what if these ganglion (sphenopalatine and/or trigimenal nerve) are just closer to the surface so irritants affect them ?? what if most peoples nerves and ganglions are just a little further back maybe even 1/8 or 1/6th of an inch so that inhaled allergens don't irritate the ganglion or nerve ?? crazy thought I know .. but why not ?

heres a thought .. buy those swimming nose plugs and breathe through your mouth for a day or two ??? (sounds crazy ,, but then again we are our own lab rats right ,, or at least my son is mine ) :
-
That's a great article by the way CHF ,, it adds more credence to my belief that its something inhaled into the back regions of the deep sinus cavity that excites one of the 2 ganglion bundles back there.
-
I Also want to re-state .. that along with his CH's comes lots of allergy symptoms .. post nasal drip and Acid Reflux.

well.. maybe you can sit around a campfire and see if it triggers one ,, or light some incense. CHF yes I am in California .. and a couple weeks ago I looked at the Allergen web site because it will list what pollens are in bloom in your zip code. Right now we have ELM http://www.pollen.com/allergy-weather-forecast.asp

okay after reading the whole article maybe not.. but the substance is interesting. just like the LSA, vit M ,, I wonder if it would have any affect on CH's. -

Fabac you rock ,,, I would have loved to see that ,, !! you might have had to hold me back as well.. lol. At least we now have 2 almost full tanks to hold us until I get the other straightened out and can tell the other company to shove off ! I have had to really push as a medical advocate for both my son and more recently my husband in a BIG way ,, so im not afraid to do whats needed. I call it being "Politely Persisstant". aka a NAG when needed.

he only took the Mylanta before pizza ... he said no CH last night.
-
My son told me last night that he felt for sure that he was going to get hit. He said he now recognizes how he feels (shadows maybe) when he is in the phase. He said that he knew at one point if he layed down that he would get one. So last night I was adamant that he take the Mylanta before attempting to lay down .. both after dinner and right before bed .. I havnt spoken to him yet today to confirm if he had one or not.. am trying to call ,, but hes still sleeping I think

I just really wonder about this ,, all im saying is that if a cluster can be triggered by inhaled nitro-glycerin, and cluster headaches can be stopped by a "Q" tip up the nose administering a nerve block,, and it can be caused by "fumes" doesn't is seem like an irritant Is being inhaled, or stomach acid is creeping up into this cavity to trigger it. some say alcohol can trigger one, and alcohol has strong fumes... I dunno ,,

Thanks fellas ,,, I called the Drs office and the receptionist said "yes ,, that patients were complaining about them and that she actually had a patient provide the name of another vendor", so I am in the works with them. We have 1 small tank full left from these people. I did call their customer service and complain ,, I never received a call back. oop .. wait wait .. an update as im typing ,, apparently someone got their butt chewed and it was just delievered... seriously ,, as I was typing .. at least their customer service realizes the legal implications.
