  1. I have also had that feeling of way to many 5hr drinks in a day and tried to mix in a redbull, frappuccino or other type of cold coffee. This did help with that heartburn feeling going away. I also started to drink the ginger and chew on a little of the raw root and things seem to be going well with that. The 5hr shots do work well along with the oxygen and do not keep me up even if I take one at 3am.
  2. Sounds like they are on the way back so like Freud said, maybe try busting this before it starts. If you are not ready for that yet I would keep your strong caffeine drinks or energy shots close by and hope for the best. You could also try drinking ginger tea of chewing on some ginger root. I have just started doing this this week and it seems to be helping a little but it is to soon to tell for me.
  3. I sometimes need the cold to help kill off the pain and use ice packs on the cluster side of my head. Other times I am freezing cold and try to cover up to keep warm. I never know what one I will be dealing with and it all adds to the fun. I can melt a ice pack holding in the same spot on the side of my head and not feel the cold on my head or hand. I sometimes realize this when the pain is almost gone and still think it is kind of odd. I can not hold a ice cube in my hand in the same spot in my hand until it melts away to nothing when I do not have a cluster.
  4. I started my day off with 20oz of Honey Ginger Tea store bought and then had a feeling of a cluster come on about 135pm so I took a nickle size piece of fresh ginger and ate it. I was doing my O2 at 144pm but the cluster was gone in about 10 minutes. 10 to 20 minutes have been the average abort times for me the last week or so, sometimes with a 5hr drink and others without. This was just the first time I ever had any ginger so I will keep notes on if anything gets better or worse.
  5. A friend of mine found me fresh ginger from a Korean supermarket over the weekend so I will be trying it today. I guess I will just slice some off and chew it up throughout the day?
  6. I have had the same experience as Dan has had. I have had the sumatriptan tablets because the injections are out of my price range. I would take them early and often just to try to stay in front of the pain. I have chewed them up to try to speed up the relief but that did not help and not the best taste. I would see what you can do about getting a oxygen setup either from a doctor prescription or get a welding setup and a cluster mask from here http://www.clusterheadaches.com/ccp8/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=clustero2kit you can read all about the welding setup on this site and I am sure someone from your country can help you track down other abortive medications. Batch is someone you will want to reach out to and ask about the D3 regimen, it is a handfull of over the counter vitamins that you can take that will help reduce the amount of clusters you get. You can add Melatonin to this at night to help you sleep and benadryl 3 times a day in case you have a underlying allergy that you are not aware of. you also have some busting options that are talked about on other parts of this site you may want to look into. You are in a good place and have a lot of reading to do and dont forget to ask questions people from all over the world are on here and willing to help.
  7. You do have a lot going on but you are in a good place here. I only have experience with the Clusters, I am chronic. The first thing I would say is get a prescription for Oxygen and get a cluster mask from here http://www.clusterheadaches.com/ccp8/index.php?app=ecom&ns=prodshow&ref=clustero2kit you will want high flow rate and pure oxygen. this will help abort your cluster without the need for other medication. I also drink a 5hr energy drink at the first feeling of the cluster coming on. I do not know if the 5hr drink would conflict with any of your other issues so I would look into that. We have a tun of other information on this site you can read up on and pick what route you want to go. Read and ask questions.
  8. I have not yet found any specific amounts yet. I would be interested to see if taking x amount every day for a week or 2 made any difference in frequency or pain level.
  9. Found this on webmd about ginger: Medications for high blood pressure (Calcium channel blockers) interacts with GINGER Ginger might reduce blood pressure in a way that is similar to some medications for blood pressure and heart disease. Taking ginger along with these medications might cause your blood pressure to drop too low or an irregular heartbeat.<br /><br /> Some medications for high blood pressure and heart disease include nifedipine (Adalat, Procardia), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, Verelan), diltiazem (Cardizem), isradipine (DynaCirc), felodipine (Plendil), amlodipine (Norvasc), and others.
  10. I have not but I am willing to give it a try. I know people eat candy made of ginger and also make some kind of tea out of it. If it works I will eat the whole root!
  11. A few things that can be the cause of this. I did take the month of December off from busting and the weather is a little goofy in this part of the country. I also took a few days off of Verapamil, it is only 120 a day but now I know it does make a difference. I am ordering the blood test today and hope I can get that done this week some time. I did bust on Saturday and things seem a little better today so i am keeping my fingers crossed. I do not recall eating anything with MSG over the weekend, I did not eat anything other then the MM on Saturday and Friday was a normal day for me with sleep and diet. I think it was just a matter of time that I got a reality check and took a beating. Now that things calmed down a little it is nice to know I can still take a ass kicking and make it out alive. It was a dark weekend but I did make it through. I owe my wife a steak dinner after this weekend that is for sure.
  12. 2 days, 13 clusters, 8 hours of pain, 12 5 hour drinks, gallons of coffee and water = FunTimes I must of pissed something off Friday night.
  13. Here is a link to the D3 regimen https://vitamindwiki.com/Cluster+headaches+substantially+reduced+by+10,000+IU+of+Vitamin+D+in+80+percent+of+people I am sure Batch will be reaching out to you with more advice, he is the founder of this treatment. It did not cure me of my cluster but did help cut them in half on the amount I get a day and the pain level they hit. I am chronic and I take this year round.
  14. I take 20mg about a half hour before I go to sleep at night and do not feel it adds to me getting any more attacks. I have no problem getting up in the morning after taking them and if I forget to take them one night I do not think it makes a difference. I don't know if they help me at all but I do not feel that it is hurting me as far as clusters goes.
  15. You can try to down a 5hr energy drink on your way to the oxygen tank! This will help kind of boost the o2 and you may be able to get some relief a little faster. I do this all hours of the day and it does not keep me up.
  16. I use the 5hr energy brands you will find all over and I also use Eternal energy and hydroxycut I think makes a version that I get from Walmart.
  17. Try a 5hr drink on the way to the o2 or even if you find the O2 slow to react and that will sometimes be just what you need to abort that attack.
  18. The E size tanks fit nice in a 2 litter soda bottle carrier the pepsi and coke guys use in the super market, they will hold 8 tanks and keep them from falling over when you store them. When your o2 delivery guy comes to drop off your tanks you can take the empties to him in that carrier and ask him if he can just refill the rack for you and you will keep it at your back door for him to make it easier for the next time he comes to deliver. I have done this a few times with only 6 or 7 bottles in it and he fills mine back up with 8 tanks. I have a few extra soda crates for the next time he comes to just trade them out with him. I have also had them not bring a larger M tanks and he gave me a few extra E tanks to hold me over for my next delivery.
  19. I know that some of the prescriptions are manufactured in a nasal spray form and work much better and faster then in pill form and injections working the fastest but I have never heard of a over the counter drug in any form abort a cluster. What is the brand yo are using? Maybe someone else will have more information for you.
  20. I would take the os script and fill that first, you can then get your own regulator from amazon to fit the tanks you get, 2 is better then nothing. I would then start working on the o2 supplier, I was given 4 e tanks when I was first set up with my O2 and after being very creative with the delivery driver and calling into the company for refills I am now up over 12 E tanks, 2 m60 tanks and 2 M tanks. The cost stays the same for monthly refills and it takes a little time to build up your stash but it is worth a try. Drivers dont care what you have and most of the time keep a few extra tanks on the truck. the youngsters on the other end of the phone taking orders dont care how many tanks you have and only type into the system what you order and most companys do not have the best inventory tracking software so they do not remember what you have. It may not be the most ethical thing to do but then again limiting you to only 2 tanks of something like oxygen is not the most ethical thing they can do either.
  21. Brian- I smoke and have chronic clusters. I do not necessarily pace the room but I do not lay down. I use oxygen to abort the attacks so I sit in a recliner and kind of rock back and forth and squirm in the chair. most times I am exhausted after everything ends and I kind of relax a little if it is a day attack, at night I go back to sleep. If it feels like it is going to be a good one I down a 5hr energy drink as I am getting my O2 going. I hope you get this all sorted out and I am sure this site will help you with any questions you may have.
  22. Like Jon said, I have tried just about every technique mentioned on this site and every attack for me is a little different. Sometimes just relax and breath does the trick and other times hyperventilating and banging the arm of the chair helps. It is something you will have to mess around with and find what works for you . And I also always have a 5hr energy drink in my pocket to help kill off the pain no matter what time of day, night or morning it is.
  23. I have had both the feeling of being cold and also sweating on different attacks. It is odd and I should keep track of that to see if it is a pattern.
  24. Agreeing with CHfather 100%. All of the things he mentioned have helped me out a little, add them all together and you have a manageable day. I take Verapamil at a low dose of 160 twice a day now, the vitamin D3, benadryl at 25mg 3 times a day drink lots of water and down a 5hr drink on my way to the O2 tank and take 20mg of melatonin before I go to bed. Sometimes sleeping in a recliner. I went from about 10 hits a day down to 1 or 2 a day. I then added busting cycle every 5 days and am now down to 1 or 2 hits a week. Other things people try are drinking ice cold drink with a straw pointed at the roof of your mouth on the cluster side, chewing fresh ginger and putting your feed in very hot water. You may of had a way that worked on your last cycle and need to tweak it a little. with all the mentioned things on this site you can hopefully mix up a system that works best for you and when you find that please share your story, it may help someone else.
  25. When I was first getting my O2 setup they did not supply me with any of the things I needed. I ordered 2 of the mask from the link CHfather gave you and ordered my regulators from Amazon. Getting the oxygen if the hardest part of it so you will soon have a med free safty zone to retreat to and im sure you will be happy with the results. Here are some links to regulators E tank: https://www.amazon.com/Regulator-0-25-Adult-Healthline-Trading/dp/B079J5X5FR/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1542801580&amp;sr=8-1-spons&amp;keywords=oxygen+regulator&amp;psc=1 You want to make sure you get one with the barb on it so you can hook your tubing to it. M tank: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BXRBH9M/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1 I use a adjustable wrench for my M tank and they will most likely give you the keys for the smaller E tanks. Good luck and enjoy!
