Reread MJ's post above. Bob

I have flown several times since getting CCH, and never had a problem. But that may be due to pre planing and taking a sput before flying. When I flew to MX a few years ago to visit with Xeno, I had a small cap under the tongue and because of the long flight, also tucked a couple of Skoal pouches in my lower lip to give me a shot of nicotine! I know several people who get hit while flying. Bob

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2010.01711.x/abstract Patients with chronic headache had a high prevalence of sleep complaints. Insomnia may thus represent an independent risk factor for headache chronification. Recognition of sleep disorders, alone or in association with depression or anxiety, may be useful in episodic headache patients to prevent chronification.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2010.01756.x/abstract The number of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) showed a graded relationship to frequent headaches in adults. Future studies should examine general populations with headache, and carefully classify them. A better understanding of the link between ACEs and migraine may lead to new knowledge regarding pathophysiology and enhanced additional therapies for headache patients.

From Headache magazine: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1526-4610.2010.01716.x/abstract We conclude that distinct neurons in the trigeminal nucleus caudalis, particularly with preferential afferent input from the eye, respond to lowering of atmospheric pressure. Similar mechanisms may contribute to the generation of headaches during changes in weather.

Hi frozen1, and welcome! To answer your question, "post dose hits" are unfortunately the norm for most. They can be strong. The good news is that they are usually followed by a few days of pain free time. Hopefully, that will be what you will experience. alley

Fingers crossed for you guys.

I think you should definitely give the seeds a go. Many, including this chronic, have actually had better success with seeds than shrooms or LSD. What have you got to lose? And as far as that goes, why not see if melatonin won't give your hubby some night time relief? Again, what do you have to lose? You guys are definitely in my thoughts and prayers. Bob

How did you self-diagnose Steve? Did your wife help you? My wife says I snore like a bear, but she has not noticed any aberrations in my breathing. I know that I have all of the markers for sleep apnea - I smoke, am overweight and ain't getting any younger. I also find myself sleepy and take naps frequently. I imagine it would be fairly easy to get my doc to write a script for a CPAP, but am hesitant to do so without a proper diagnosis. Bob

poet (p[ch333][ch8242][ch601]t) noun 1.a person who writes poems or verses 2.a person who displays imaginative power and beauty of thought, language, etc. Deny it if you must but it's always healthier to accept and take measured pride in one's own qualities and abilities. Bobw Listen to him Tingeling. He not only has a heart bigger than Alaska, but is also probably the smartest man I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Bobb

I haven't been tested, so no diagnosis. Although I suspect that I may have sleep apnea, the cost of an overnight stay to test was enough to discourage me. :-/

Good to see you on the board Dan, and good advice. Bob

Dan, I didn't see the program, but it sounds a lot like the research Halpern did with the Navajos use of peyote. http://discovermagazine.com/2003/feb/featpeyote Bob

Matty, That episode came in the previous season, 2006 I think. Drs. Sewell and Halpern had just gotten their article published in Neurology magazine. I was sitting at home watching House the night it first aired. I'll never forget the line House used when Chase found him in the men's room and looked in his eyes. Chase said something to the effect of, "House are you tripping?" To which House replied, "Well I thought everyone knew that LSD would stop a migraine in its tracks." I spewed iced tea all over myself! ;D You have to realize that this research was very new then. I immediately called Dr. Sewell and asked if he had seen it. He said no, so I went online and found a transcript of the show and sent it to him. A couple of weeks later, Dr. Sewell forwarded an email to me from one of the writers of the show. It basically said that they had wanted House to trip on the show, and were trying to figure out a story line when they ran across the Clusterbusters (Sewell's and Halpern's paper) research online, and decided to incorporate it into the episode. So that's the story behind the story! Pretty cool, huh? Bob

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLD MAN!!! ;D

Hi Val, First of all, "Welcome!" Sorry you had to find us, but glad you did. I tried to go back into the old Clusterbusters archives, but was unsuccessful. Apparently, the Yahoo search engine is temporarily down. So all I can do is try to rely on my memory, which is quite bad. Someone will be along shortly that has had experience with busting with truffles. I do remember that several tried the truffles back about 5 years ago. If I remember right, there were mixed results. But that is not unusual. As has been said many times, we are all different, and what works for one person, may not work for the next. Some seem to have more luck busting with LSD, others psilocybin, and others with LSA (seeds). So, if truffles are the only ammunition you have, then by all means, use them. And please report whether on not you have success. As Bejeeber and Hipshot said, you should try to procure high flow oxygen with a non-rebreather mask. Then taper off of the verapamil and leave the Imigran alone. You need to be med free for five days before busting. I would say that is probably why you had such poor results from your first three busts. All the best, Bob

You guys that live in NYC will have to check out this new burger place in Manhattan. Even if you don't live in NY, you can go online and build a burger. If I'm getting this right, and they take the burger you build and put it on the menu, you will make 25 cents for every one they sell! Check it out: http://4food.com/buildaburger/step1#/buildaburger/step1

Lee Ann, The "Clusterheadaches" group and the "Clusterbusters" are two different "causes." It was after someone sent me a cause request, and I joined the Clusterheadaches cause, that I thought about putting Clusterbusters on Facebook. I asked Bob about it, and he asked me if I would take care of it for him. So that's what I did. I have to say now though, that although I have been on FB for quite a while, I am by no means proficient with it. What I can and will do is post a link below that will take you to the Clusterbuster on Facebook Cause page. http://www.causes.com/causes/523519?m=2e2231fb Bob

Thanks so much clustermom13 for posting this. At BobW's request, I started the "cause" on FB, but totally forgot to post here about it. Bobb
