  1. oh, yea... My mind is definitely happier going in 5 directions at once. I have to really concentrate to be able to focus on one task. I also rock incessantly - Anytime my brain is working. My body is also. I can't sit still AT ALL when I'm focused on coding etc. anything that requires focused concentration. No connection to caffeine or any stimulants, it's just the way my brain works. J
  2. What DM said. And make it a Hot fire Getting hit at work is the worst I haven't kept up with reading on your medicine. Are you busting with MM? Seeds? J
  3. Always had a busy mind, but focused it on engineering, designing, creativity etc. Not so much the last few years. I'm definitely ok with that. J
  4. The scary thing about doing the "Beer Test" with me, is the times I've been PF and tried the test just to find the CH was waiting for an opportunity to come back, it did. Beer Test seemed to restart the cycle. Personally I'd skip the beer test, or give it a bit longer anyway. J
  5. Fabac, ROFL Glad to hear some pep in your typing J
  6. I'm soooooo doing that! Sounds like halyards clanging on a sailboat mast. J
  7. New article on yahoo / MM study. Pretty awesome!! More and more evidence it can be used to treat depression among other "brain" ailments. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/tripping-mushrooms-changes-brain-204500998.html J
  8. Inept management of the O2 companies sounds pretty common I think. I have 3 E tanks from 2 prior companies, that never bothered to pick them up. Just leaving them in the closet till, who knows, they might come in handy for something. J
  9. Fabac, Oh yea. 110% agree. The entire medical process / profession has turned away from the goal of helping people, and into the goal of profit. J
  10. Fabac, PM me your email and I'll email you a link to my Snatam Kaur Pandora radio station (free ). I have it setup with Kundalini / Hindu mantra music. J
  11. didgens, Just goes to show the importance of escalating a complaint if companies don't do what they should. Great to hear the O2 is back! J
  12. Renee, Trying to be positive, but so many of those scripted meds to be helpful (at the doses needed to help CH) can be VERY destructive to one's body. There are people on the board that have had to have hip replacements because of prednisone, partially blind because of lithium, heart issues because of Verapamil etc. etc. Seeds or M, have virtually no side effects, No toxicity, are out of your system in a matter of hours, and aren't tested with standard drug tests. Not to mention getting and staying pain free is awesome!!! I had never taken any drugs besides trying pot twice (both times didn't care for it). I had a pretty hard time getting up to trying seeds /or M, but Sooooooo glad I did. My life is 1,000% better now than it ever was with the physical and emotional issues of my CH hitting me over and over (not to mention when it wasn't around the fear of it was always there). No longer is that an issue Off my soap box oh crud, that was a bread box... Now I gotta go back to the grocery store... jk... J
  13. Anything Snatam Kaur or Krishna Das! I've found that since I started my regular doses of M, my busy mind isn't so busy anymore. I can relax, and focus on nothing if I want to. Actually thinking about nothing would have been impossible years ago. One would ask, how do you think about nothing? I do, by listening to Kundalini mantra chants, close my eyes, and just think about the darkness I'm in, how I'm part of the nothing that connects everything. After a little while my mind drifts to a dreamy state, but I'm still very much awake. I'll almost start dreaming while I'm awake. Hard to describe, but very fulfilling. The more often I meditate, the quicker I can slip into a meditative state. If I can meditate in the morning I always feel energized after. If I mediate at night, I fall asleep. ;D J
  14. Renee, I 2nd CHFathers note (and Fabac's ). Please give us some history on your hubby? There's 1,000 X more knowledge on this board than a pile of "headache" Dr. specialists (not including Boston Doc in that statement :)) Boston Doc ROCKS! [smiley=vrolijk_26.gif] There's quite a few cheap and easy things he can do to reduce his pain level / duration. Not to mention a TON of things he can do to prepare and/or educate his Dr to better target his treatment. Whatever you do don't just accept a script from the Dr, as a cure. I'd say 10 to 1 most of the Dr scripted stuff causes more issues long term than the advice / natural remedies discussed on this board From me and I know a TON of others here, thanks for being an advocate for your hubby!!! So many of us with CH wouldn't be around without some of the awesome supporters out there! You're in a ENORMOUSLY respected category of people, for being his advocate (especially at times that he can't be)... J
  15. Sounds like the company here in FL I USE to do business with. I don't know how much your insurance pays, but you might look at the welding O2. It's pretty cheap most places. J
  16. Fabac, If Yoga is helping how you feel, you might want to try Kundalini Yoga. It's a blend of mindfulness, mediation, physical stress / exercise, stretching and setting positive intentions. There aren't very many studios that teach it, because it's a lot more than just physical exercise. I practice once a week (Some day I plan to get to a point of 3X a week!) J
  17. Par, Please be careful with anything 3D printed and O2. You should test the plastic in a 100% O2 environment before putting to your mouth and breathing with it. (maybe direct a 100% flow over the plastic for a little while?) Hydrocarbons spontaneously burn in a 100% O2 environment. I don't know the % of hydro carbons they use in the 3D printing plastic, but I'd suspect it's fairly high due to the need to melt at specific temperatures. That's the reason silicone is used for medical devices. (no hydrocarbons that react with O2). J
  18. Par, Concur with LT2 and CHFather - 200% Falling asleep with an 'E' tank isn't so bad, because there's less than an hour of O2 at 15lpm. BUT if you're using a larger tank, or concentrator having the mask strapped to your face can be deadly. Alveoli sacks in your lungs will slowly collapse when on 100% O2 too long. HIGHLY recommend taking CHFathers advice and don't strap the mask to your face, only hold it to your face, so if you fall asleep / pass out, it will fall away. J
  19. Awesome photo bombs Dan! Haven't chatted in a long while, hope you're well my friend. J
  20. I haven't read the entire thread, so hope my post isn't in left field (sometimes I get it all the way to right field . In the wayyyy back script machine - - The first treatment the doc "tried" on my CH (98' ish) was Zoloft. It definitely lifted my mood, no doubt about that. Didn't do beans for my CH. I stopped it at about the 2 to 3 month mark if I remember correctly. I can definitely say my alternative CH treatment (Seeds / Fungus) has without a doubt lifted my mood, but only after the CH has left, not before (or during). My own anecdotal observation is that I've seen / felt a better "lift" with the larger doses. Threshold doses help the CH, but I don't quite feel the longer term mental lift I do with larger doses of M or Seeds. 2c. That is all J
  21. Sadly like DD and a few others, I have to cancel as something has come up last minute. I have a hotel reservation I think I need to cancel today unless Alleyoop wants it since he was going to stay with me. (BIG sorry on that). Sometimes life gets away from us. If Alleyoop doesn't want it I can xfer to someone else, or cancel if needed. I have been looking forward to the conference all year and am seriously bummed I have to cancel. J
  22. Moxie, Rant all you need! And, the short answer to your question - yes. Dunno why, but I always get 'off my happy', when the CH comes. PFW, J
  23. Moxie, Pretty sure I know what you're talking about. I've felt a quick "pinch" of a sharp pain in my CH spot maybe 2 or 3 times, only for 1 or 2 seconds. I do remember them though. Nothing of long duration, just in and out, then don't feel it again for a few years, a very odd pain. J
  24. Is Lisa Hertz here on the msg board? Apparently we're neighbors and didn't know it. Lisa shout out and ping me if you're there I'm in Seminole near Madeira. J
